The Chandler Steakhouse - MGM Springfield
We had a great night all around
It was a fine experience, but what is displayed as a high-end restaurant, but the number of people coming in with sweatpants was a bit jarring. The food was tasty.
Mediocre dinner at best, extremely small salmon portion for the price, no tableside ceasar salad because there was another banquet?! Overpriced food, lukewarn lobster bisque. Bad experience.
My experience was the worst since they decided to close without telling any of the people that had reservation. So everything was terrible. With no excuse. Would not recommend at all
50th birthday amazing
We enjoyed the ambiance and the food, but initially waited for about 15 minutes before we were greeted or had our drink orders taken. The staff was professional and polite, but seemed to struggle with balancing their attention.
Food and atmosphere was phenomenal, service was a little slow but he was very professional and kind. Took some time for drinks and bread, however not so bad that I wouldn't return.
Always treated right and food is incredible #stevesteamatchandlers
Our server (Sal) was great!
Service is great but food is overpriced, especially the sides.
Terrific burgers! We loved it. The best French fries I’ve ever had! Definitely worth it!
Very nice experience food gets better every time
The seating arrangement does not promote a private or romantic atmosphere. In order for the waiter to talk to the customers next to you, his backside is against your table. When I asked for a larger table, I was told that she would check but that never happened. The food was good and the waiter was excellent but I would not return. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I want all aspects of the dining experience to be positive.
Food was good, service was good as well. We enjoyed out visit to The Chandler
This was our second time there. We were so fortunate to have Rebecca as our server. We were there 2 weeks ago and she remembered our orders!! She’s truly outstanding and is the consummate professional! She’s honest- I complained about the new salad presentation and she confessed that it was new that night instead of rolling her eyes! She always appreciates feedback. She makes the experience even better!
This was not our first time at Chandlers, but it was the first time we ate in the bar. We were going to the 7:15 PM show at ROAR Comedy Club, we mentioned this to our server and she made sure we got out in time. Service and food was just as good as the main dining room.
A top notch fine dining establishment with especially good service
Very nice place for a special occasion. Very expensive though.
I was actually very surprised. The restaurant was very attractive and the menu looked really good. I've dined at other restaurants and MGM Springfield and was pleased. But the food here was disappointing and I think we had about 6 different people helping us over the course of 90 minutes. I had wagyu beef, which I expected to be excellent, given this is a steakhouse and the prices were very high, but it was chewy and quite fatty. This was a business dinner with colleagues. One of my colleagues shared with me privately that his steak, a filet, was overcooked and had no flavor. I would not go back again, nor could I ever recommend it to a friend or colleague.
Inside casino. Pricey. Can be noisy. But food is good.
Slow service. Not very friendly. Took a long time to be served!
Great atmosphere. Very high price for what you get
The chandler experience is know for their table side Caesar salad. Apparently they don’t provide this service when a concert is scheduled. Very disappointing.
After a horrid experience in 2018 (just days after opening) we decided to give The Chandler a second chance. Not afraid to pay the price for excellent dining, we expect the best. Unfortunately, steaks were severely overdone, appetizers were bland, etc. not close to what we expected. The manager did personally apologize for the “suppose to be Pittsburgh but well burnt steak” and removed it from our tab. It doesn’t appear that we will have a return trip. Found numerous other restaurants in the area with better food, prices, & service. Take a pass on The Chandler.
Sal and Jason were great!! We really enjoyed ourselves with them taking care of us. The table side banana’s foster was excellent. It has been so many years since we had banana’s foster that good. The food is very pricey, but in line with Flemings or Ruth Chris. They could do better with the price of things. The Tomahawk steak was a disappointment. It was very fatty and my least favorite of the meal. Sides could use some improvement. There are really. Not any good veggie choices. Could use a seasonal choice.
I dine out a lot and for my dining value there are much better choices than The Chandler Steakhouse.
The service was marginal at best and the food was very average.
I wanted a first class meal while I was in Springfield and wish I had found it.
The best part of the meal was the wine I ordered with dinner and the port that the Wine Steward Charles recommended with dessert.
The location at the MGM was appropriate because the meal was a gamble.
Creamed Spinach was incredibly salty. Not much anchovy flavor in the career salad. Steak (fillet with Oscar) was ok, didn’t love the bet side sauce. Lobster cake had nice flavor, but cheaper (thumb of claw) meat.
Excellent meal with attentive service.
I ordered the Halibut and it was extremely dry and very salty. I couldn’t even finish my meal. My brother had the same thing and his was the same. Very disappointing.
Great food and service! Pricey but worth it for a special occasion.
The food was absolutely fabulous. However the service was very slow and the restaurant was too loud. I will say the tables on either side of us had prompt service, so it was definitely an issue with our particular servers. The food was so good I would consider going back, just hope for a better server!
As always incredible Steve and staff especially Victoria now how to treat their guests
We arrived for a 6:30pm reservation on the Saturday of MGM’s anniversary weekend. To our delight, we were seated immediately. Surprisingly, the restaurant wasn’t all that busy. Our server was very attentive. Drinks arrived promptly, and our appetizers & salads were combined to expedite things (since we had 8:00pm concert tickets). The Chandler Roll (sushi) was delicious. Would go back again just for that! The caesar salad was quite the opposite: essentially romaine and mayonnaise with a dusting of grated parm. No pepper, salt or acid whatsoever. Our dinners (bone-in ribeye, NY strip, sautéed mushrooms & lyonnaise potatoes) were excellent, although the potatoes could have used a bit more salt. The steaks came with a trio of house-made sauces: bearnaise (which was buttery and delicious), sriracha chimichurri (which was herby and acidic with a gentle heat), and steak sauce (which was not as good as Heinz 57 or A1 - it was essentially flavored ketchup). All in all, a good - albeit very expensive- experience and I would go back.
Aerosmith was in town. Great show. Dinner and service by Jason and Theresa was excellent except at 5pm music too loud in restaurant when trying to have conversation. Other than that it was great.
Everything was delicious
Our first visit here and it really was a fabulous night out! Jason and Theresa were our servers and they also made the evening very special.. Yes, as you all have heard it is very pricey but we were there celebrating a birthday and a good reason to treat ourselves! there were 3 of us, 2 of us split the wedge salad and another ordered the huge shrimp cocktail for our appts.. The salad is large enough to share.. we all ordered steaks and they were so very good.. melt in your mouth .. have to say the only steak house around here than can finally compete with Boston or NYC.. excellent... As a side we ordered the French fries , again huge portion and more than enough to share.. The only criticism I could have was the Banana Foster was our desert.. it probably needed brown sugar added to it, at table side presentation... needed something more but the preparation was perfect.. I would be remiss if I did not mention their cocktails.. made to perfection.. We can't wait to go back.. I would love to try a non steak on the menu... everything looked so yummy.. Thanks again Chandler staff for making this a special evening out.
MGM Chandler’s ambience and decor are worthy of its name and old fashioned steakhouses for upscale dining. The food is ok, not spectacular, for such a steakhouse type restaurant. But the maitre ‘d, the servers, the “gist” of the attitude of the staff in general has a culture that is more consistent with Applebee’s. Don’t get me wrong. I love the Applebee’s. But not at $100-$150 per person price range. Chandler’s management must understand its success depends on repeat clients from the local business community looking for places to impress their dining guests. The bargain price culture of its staff comes from the top, the manager. The restaurant will not succeed unless they get real with its dining experience. Wearing classic wardrobes does not make up for that they have not been trained properly. That’s all about the management, I mean the upper management and senior staff. I’ve been watching this for a year. It has not improved. I want them to improve. I want to support local economy.
Perfect dinner in an amazing atmosphere.
The Service was a great as the meal.
I would recommend Chandlers to anyone who wants to enjoy a great dining experience.
If you have the extra money..great food and drinks. $$$$
