After a brief period of closure in June 2018, and following the latest Government advice, we are ready to safely open our doors again and reunite our customers with their favourite Chinese dishes. We are also offering takeaway and delivery within a 2.5 mile radius from Cambridge city centre.
Please note our slightly reduced operating hours until 1 August 2020:
Lunch: 11.30am - 3.00pm (full Dim Sum menu and limited à la carte menu).
We are closed on Tuesdays.

As always a joy to visit Charlie Chan’s our favourite restaurant. The staff are so polite and helpful and all the required safe space essentials are present. The food is amazing. Service is quick and unobtrusive just as it should be.

We haven’t been to the restaurant since 2005. The restaurant is just as good as what I have remembered as a student here at Cambridge. So glad to be back here.

When we arrived at the restaurant, at the time we had reserved, it was closed. We had received no warning of this, either from Charlie Chan or from Open Table, so I am unable to say who was responsible. I shall not be using Open Table again.

It is pleasing to go to a Chinese restaurant where the staff is friendly and also accommodating, as we had lids with us and they prepared the dishes for us upon request. one of the best Chinese i have been to in uk in my 25 years.
Food (Dim Sum) was hot and fresh and came out quite quickly. Nice restaurant will use again if visiting Cambridge.
It is great that Charlie Chan is back! My wife is Chinese, and this is the only local Chinese restaurant that she will take friends and relatives to. Downstairs provides casual dining; upstairs there is a more formal dining area. The dim-sum is excellent; as good as that found in Hong Kong, and at lunch-time it is easy to have the traditional "yam-cha" - that is, dim sum with one or two more substantial dishes and Chinese tea. The full evening menu will provide a banquet to cater for many tastes.
One of the best Chinese meals I have had in ages. I wished I lived nearer as this would definitely be on my list of regular restaurants
The dim sum is lovely & fresh, we were a table of 6, with one vegetarian, one who couldn't eat pork. We had a great variety of food for lunch & look forward to our next visit!

So happy to see the reopening of Charlie Chan. Food quality is as good as before; had to wait a little while to be served but after that, food arrived fresh, hot and promptly after ordering. Tables are well spaced out so felt safe with regards to social distancing. Really happy to have my dim sum fix at my favorite restaurant - will definitely visit again.

Absolutely wonderful! We went for dim sum on a Saturday which we would always do whilst living in Asia and it took us right back there!! Lovely service and beautiful food. When we are back in Cambridge we will definitely be back. Thank you❤️

Amazing food and nice atmosphere-we had quite a noisy table near us but it didn’t detract from the experience.
We had lots of dim sum which was all very authentic-my mum, who is Cantonese, was impressed!
Also both noodle dishes were also delicious with really tender meat!
Thoroughly happy and will make this a regular place to go!!
Went to try the dim sum after reading about Charlie Chan's on community forums. The quality was extremely good, and the portion sizes quite generous. The only let down was the service in general which was not responsive to requests and not very friendly. The young waiter who served us was friendly though he did forget our spoon for dessert.
In summary, food was excellent but let down somewhat by the service front of house.

I was sad to hear it was closed down a while back, but its back open!. We had variety of Dim su. It was quite busy, but glad we went. Lovely dim sum..
Some waiters did not have a mask on, no soap in the bathroom and the service was terrible (we had to ask for napkins, the sauces)

Even thought I visited this restaurant during the lunch time as part of Eat out to Help out, it's surprising how quickly the food comes out and it's served hot.
