The overall experience was wonderful!
Our server, David, was so kind, helpful and informative; his drink and food recommendations were perfect and he really provide great customer service.
Also, the restaurant manager really made it an amazing night as well. He really went above and beyond making sure my friend and I really enjoyed ourselves to the fullest.
All around 10/10 service — definitely will have to stop by again whenever I’m in the city.

Entire staff was great. Friendly and knew their product. Steak was perfect! Menu is well rounded and fairly priced.
Food was mediocre. Good but slow service
The service and ambiance of the restaurant were great. The food, however, was just average in my opinion. We had steak that was tough and did not have much flavor. Sides were ok. Salads were good.

Tried this steak house on a Groupon , figured to give business to the restaurants that were hit hard during Covid in NYC. The steak was mediocre at best for a steak house in the city and the service was functional, nothing to rave about.

This was a moderately priced steakhouse compared to all the ones I looked up. The steak was definitely worth the $60. I guess the potato was a little strange and not really worth the $13 charge for a single potato but I get it we’re ok NYC. It at least looked cool sliced into four slices with sour cream on top. Overall it was great and so was the service.

We went to Carlie Palmer Steak House to eat a Porterhouse steak. Sad to say, the steak was almost impossible to eat--it was mostly fat and gristle. Every other food we had there was delicious--the oysters, wedge salad, spinach, fried potatoes and cheesecake were outstanding. The wine was good and the service was excellent. We have eaten the Porterhouse at 4 other steak houses and only the bone is left! At CPSH, more than two thirds was left as scrap!
This was our first time here and it won't be our last. Had a Living Social which offered a fabulous meal complete with two glasses of bubbly and a bottle of California Cab. It was my husband's birthday and they placed a tall sparkly candle in the center of the strawberry cheesecake which was a nice touch.
The meal was quite opulent, with Prosecco, oysters, salad, steak, fries, wine...but somehow the food was just not that great. And we got stuck over in a corner in the back, though the restaurant was nearly empty and we were quite reasonably dressed. The flickering colored lights were relentlessly annoying.
Definitely a good buy, with exceptional food and even better service.
Only criticism would be bathrooms were rather messy (& two were out of order) and the main course seemed to take a fairly long time after first course. But food was excellent and service was great.
Good service and very good food. At first, the staff felt dismissive but then warmed up and were much more engaged. Very good food which was prepared perfectly!
If you want a good steak house its Charlie Palmers.. Steaks cook to your liking. Wonderful experience

Service was really lacking and felt very disorganized. There was very little distance between parties which made me uncomfortable during covid times. Every worker seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Food was decent but wouldn’t recommend or go out of my way to visit again.
The food, ambiance and staff were all incredible. Drinks were delicious and will be back here in a heartbeat. If you’re in the heart of NYC Charlie Palmer Steak is a must!
Service was fairly efficient and very pleasant. They were also attentive. Ambience was quite nice. The food is not as good as it used to be. My filet mignon was tough both for chewing and the knife. Yukon Gold potatoes tasted like paste.

Drinks were great, mojito needed a little more simple syrup but they fixed it no problem. Food was delicious, we got steak and salmon. The server, Raymond, was the best. Friendly, funny, made us feel welcomed. We can't wait to go back!
Very rare for me to say something negative. Spent $800 for dinner for two and very disappointed. seafood tower made us sick, later in the evening. Porterhouse Steak for $136 served on a cold plate, that's just wrong
Great service and good food!
Both the food and the service was outstanding. The restaurant is no longer on Groupon which I hope they reconsider. The regular prices are on par with the average steakhouse but would be pricy for a person not on an expense account. If they were to go back on Groupon I would buy another one as soon as I could.
For an appetizer my husband and i had the oysters and my son the French onion soup. Then we shared the salad wedge. For a main course we had the porterhouse steak and my son the burger. Add a bottle of wine and cheesecake.
Everything was excellent. We’ll definitely be back!
Me and my girlfriend were there and didn’t get really good service, then to make it even better we saw a mouse run across the floor. After that I stopped eating. We told the waiter and he said it was normal and there was nothing he could do about it.
This was our second time at Charlie Palmer in one week. The first visit was restaurant week and the fillet was amazing. This time I upgraded to the Spare ribs. I’ve never tasted anything so good. Every mouthful another wonderful dream come true. And the service was spectacular. I highly recommend.

They really went all out in providing a great menu for the Restaurant Week. The Steak Frites was delicious and substantial enough to take home some leftovers for another meal at home. Disappointed in the pour on the wine at $18 a glass but and I strongly recommend seating away from the windows where the flashing lights of the neon signs across 42nd Street were intermittently annoying. That aside, we'll be back.
