At Charlotte Quay, we’re all about sourcing locally. We believe in using only the best Irish produce to create fresh, exciting dishes with a Mediterranean feel.
Charlotte Quay restaurant and bar provides the perfect setting for a unique dining experience, whether that be a long, boozy lunch, dinner or relaxed weekend brunch. Only a 7 minute walk from The Bord Gais Theatre, CQ is the ideal destination for a pre-show dinner and bottle of wine.
So, if good food, wine and a stunning location is what you’re after, Charlotte Quay is the place for you!
Great place for brunch, and probably dinner, slightly off the beaten track, and a much better menu and quality of food than many other places.
The starters were poor and portions were too small for the price. The duck breast was slithers of duck. Wouldn’t recommend. The mains were lovely and the desert was good. Overall I think it was over overpriced for what it was. Staff were friendly. Lovely setting and views. Music was being turned on and off throughout.
Loved it. Great food, efficient service, lovely staff and great location with a fantastic view
The restaurant was in a Beautiful location and we were served some lovely summery food
Lovely setting helped by a glorious day.
Food was very nice and staff very friendly.
Service was very slow and although there were three staff members on the floor they all seemed to be under a lot of pressure. All the same, the food was delicious and the location is one of the nicest in Dublin, especially on a good day.
Great family gathering. Great location, ambiance and food!
It was an ok experience, waitress was pleasant but food was over prices for what it was. €4.50 for 5 little strings of broccoli was a bit much and the burger was ok but not €18 worth.
Staff very friendly and offered great customer service
Great restaurant for a high-quality meal without having a huge bill at the end.
The view is very nice, overlooking Grand Canal, very bright.
Tables are quite close to each other, so the noise level can be quite strong when room is full.
Service was good.
Don't go there if you are in a hurry as waiting time to get your food is pretty long.
Great experience overall, and I would definitely go back!
Great food and friendly sevice, with an amazing view - will definitely come back, thank you!
We reserved a table for 8pm
When ve arrived on time the lady told us to wait for few minutes as clients were paying the bill and asked us to stay at bar. We wait for more than 20 minutes but nobody call us for dinner so we left the restaurant
Highly recommend the burgers
Our meal was really good, tasty and delicious. But I felt there could have been 1 more person on the floor.
It took ages for my partners drink to arrive, it was a martini, I had to remind the waiter of it, there was no apology for the delay when it eventually came.
Also, the table of 4 ppl beside us, their main courses arrived before ours , 2 of us, and again there was no apology for the delay.
I had the steak which was cooked to perfection.
The service was amazing, they took care about all details that I mentioned at the booking notes, but the food was poor. I was expecting a delicious dish and me and my girlfriend we ordered the 8oz irish steak, but It came without salt, sliced( I was expecting to see a nice piece of steak), no taste at all and the steak doesn’t come with a sauce, we can just order ketchup or mayo, I think they should add a sauce (for ex: peppercorn, béarnaise, blue cheese, horseradish sauces) to come with or at least offer in case that the guest want It.
However, we had a great night, thanks for the service and attention given.
Visiting Dublin for a few days and both waitresses were amazingly helpful and friendly. An amazing bunch of wonderful people working in this place. We will be back on our next visit.
Food's good and waiting staff helpful but the acoustics in here are too loud to enjoy a meal here. Music was turned down but more could be done with the furnishings to improve the acoustics and make this a better dining experience. Fine for young people who talk at the top of their voices over one another, but not for the older generation.
We waited an hour for our meal, which was particularly bad because we went for a Pre Theatre. 2 meals arrived cold, all meals were far too greasy. We then waited to pay for over 15 mins. Overall really disappointing!!
Disappointed with Charlotte quay, menu limited and expensive for what you got. Also had to vacate table and move to the bar to finish our drinks. Had to leave them as it was so noisy you couldn’t have a conversation. Would not recommend.
Glorious food in a prime canal-side restaurant. Really delicious, interesting food combinations with dishes cooked to perfection! Good selection of wines. Friendly but not invasive service. Beautiful view of the swans swimming in the canal. Really worth a visit.
We have eaten here before and always enjoyed it. The location is lovely and the food is delicious. We also enjoyed some cocktails and wine. The service is just not quite right. We were left waiting before a drinks order was taken. We also waited to give our food order. Starters arrived fairly promptly and we absolutely delicious (especially the tuna!). However we waited so long for our mains..we had to ask for them. All the staff seemed very very busy so perhaps they were short staffed.
In relation to the menu...it seems to be more or less the same always with 4 red meat mains only two fish and no poultry at all. That being said it was all delicious and we all enjoyed our evening.
Repas délicieux, ambiance tamisée, environnement super, je recommande sans problème ! Idéal pour repas en amoureux 😊 Mention spécial au chef Matteo qui s’est présenté à nous !
Delicious food and excellent service in a lovely restaurant with waterside views of Grand Canal Dock.
Great place, staff were so nice, absolutely recommend
We had a wonderful brunch in Charlotte Quay last Saturday. The waiters were really friendly; happy to chat about specials and their favourite dishes on the menu. The food itself was delicious and service was excellent. Highly recommend!
Lovely table at window overlooking water. Excellent service. One of our party was v late and no pressure put on to order. All had main cocktails, main courses, desserts. Food very good. Music was too loud but fortunately we were away from speaker. Good venue. Would recommend.
We've already recommended this restaurant to all our friends. Hoping we get a chance to dine here again.
Sever doesn't seem to care much. It was not busy but our dessert sits on the kitchen counter for a very long time, no one cares the bell. And ice cream melted when we got it. Location is good. But I wouldn't go back.
I like this place, it was not busy due to the Easter Weekend, however there were a couple of big and noisy groups…but you can't do much about that . The food arrives really quickly and the service is professional and attentive.
Delicious Pre theatre dinner with excellent service
Very imaginative and well executed menu with some very tasty dishes. Could have one or two more vegetarian choices but what was available was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is in a fab location overlooking the Grand Canal docks and tables are well appointed. Service was friendly and unrushed, but yet very efficient, as we were availing of pre-theatre dinner. It is a little pricey but it cuts well above average.
Nice restaurant with water views. Bar area was very nice for cocktails. The restaurant was cozy and the menu had some interesting items on the menu. We had the flap steak medium rare with bone marrow butter. It was excellent. One of the nicest restaurants we dined at in Dublin
I love this place! Food is great, staff are friendly and the views are amazing! Perfect place for Sunday lunch/bruch
Pre-Theatre menu was great. Service excellent. Felt like the staff were only setting up when we arrived, setting tables, etc. But overall it was a great dining experience & would highly recommend.
Anne Marie and her colleagues looked after us extremely well. all were very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Charlotte's Quay to my friends and look forward to going back again, especially for the Prawns Pil Pil - delicious.
Hi Carol, You were in on a great Friday! Thank you for the kind words and trust me, the prawns will be here waiting for you. Annmarie
We were delighted with the level of service and the possibility of buying gluten-free dishes. The surroundings and the atmosphere of the restaurant were very appealing to us. We will definitely use it once.
Tasty food, lovely wine, and welcoming staff - what more could you ask for?
My sister and I had a very enjoyable meal in Charlotte Quay last Saturday.
The food was very good. The only minor comment is when we asked for a finger bowl having been served prawns ( complete with heads) between us a starter , we were given a bowl of water with lemon and ice instead of with hot water, other than that, everything was great!
Great service experience and fantastic food. Highly recommend.
