Really nice meal. The food was good but the service managed to be a bit over fussy while we were trying to talk but then also not around when we needed to order. They really needed to judge the table a little better and pick their moments
Lovely meal and cocktails as always at our local, neighbourhood Charlotte's, so I would always recommend it - but downsides are the seating areas are so dark we had to use the torches on our mobile phones to read the menus, so if the ambient lighting could be slightly stronger it would help (hence 3 stars for ambience). Also, we said it was a birthday on booking, but there was no acknowledgement which was disappointing. And finally, they no longer take cash payments which did not suit some of our guests and caused a problem on payment. Would be easier all round for the customer if cash was still an option.
Perfect setting for our anniversary. Amazing set menu and great value for money, food was speedy and delicious. The ambiance is really nice, the glass ceiling when it's raining is very cosy, and the lighting is a perfect mood setter. The staff were the real highlight, all of the team welcomed us when we came, we mentioned it was our anniversary and they brought us a complimentary sloe gin each, which was delicious. A special mention to Christie our waitress for the night who really stood out, she is a credit to the establishment. Will be going back for sure.
Excellent service with knowledgeable wait staff. The food was exceptional. I will be back !
Having been on a number of occasions I was disappointed with the menu content this month. Additionally there was a distinct lack of gluten fee dessert options.
There was a buzzy atmosphere in this neighbourhood eatery, however, I was slightly disappointed in my meal. My hake ceviche and fennel salad while fresh was lacking in flavour - perhaps not seasoned sufficiently for my taste. The main of guinea fowl breast and puy lentils with mushrooms lacked variety (in texture and flavour) for me. The value for money element was in question because this felt like food I could easily cook at home, but was priced closer to fine dining. Staff were friendly.
On arrival we were greeted immediately and offered the choice of sitting at the bar or going straight to the table. We chose to sit at the bar until the last member of our party arrived. The bartender was courteous and showed an immense knowledge of drinks and was happy to knock up something amazing off the menu after asking a few questions.. once at the table, our waiter was fantastic.. great suggestions for food and wine pairings.. overall and amazing evening.. one which I would definitely repeat. Kudos to all the staff at Charlotte’s bistro!! I will not hesitate to recommend to everybody
I’ve always been a big fan of Charlottes. Love the ambience. LOVE the gin selection. And the wine list is always interesting. Starters and mains (both fish dishes) were delicious. As was the homemade soda bread. Just let down by a distinctly average tiramisu. How can you get that wrong??!
Local resident but had never been here before. Early evening booking so had 3 course plus aperitif deal for £30 - good value for this area. Food was fine. Service relaxed but excellent. Quite busy so a good atmosphere.
The essence of Charlotte's, fantastic value for out of this world food, drinks and service. Great place for a business lunch!
Great food and wonderful service with our waiter friendly chatty and helpful.
Very pleasant lunch with family. Food was excellent in terms of both flavour and stylish presentation. Friendly service.
Lovely restaurant and genuine, friendly staff who gave just the right amount of attention. Every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. Great vibe and atmosphere and perfect for a romantic night out. Can't wait to return.
I love this place, its vibey without being too noisy to chat. I like the menu, I like that they have a dairy free menu for those that need it. And I love the cocktails. I'm so lucky to have it round the corner.
Fantastic food, service and value.. This is why we keep on coming back and recommend Charlotte's Bistro to anyone who'll listen. Try it you most definitely won't be disappointed..
The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The lamb stew was beautiful, thank you to the chefs and to the staff for a lovely dinner!
The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. The portion sizes are slightly smaller than normal so may be worth ordering sides if you're hungry.
The food was great. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a delicious bottle of wine.
Always manages to be both an excellent dining experience without some of the fussiness of a fine dining establishment. Staff always friendly. In a crowded Chiswick market Charlotte's still stands out.
The food was exquisite and the service impeccable! What a lovely evening at Charlotte’s Bistro. I just wished for a little bit more of my main course because it was so delicious! Fairly expensive but worth it for such tasty food and celebrating a special occasion.
Birthday dinner - The staff - especially the manager from Toulouse - were really warm and welcoming and responded to our requirements. The range of food we had (6 of us) was really interesting - could have chosen most things on the menu. Good wine list at reasonable prices and interesting cocktails. All in all a great evening.
Our rhubarb cocktail bore no relation to rhubarb whatsoever.
My main course with maille mustard was completely tasteless
Greeted by waiter, showed to table and presented with a menu. Good choice of food on "early bird "type menu. Very helpful and attentive waiter though out. Nicely cooked food and good portions. Would certainly recommend this establishment. An enjoyable experience
Very good service and a good wine expertise.
My husband and I are big fans of the Charlotte's group of restaurants and have been to Charlotte's Bistro before, when we found it a bit noisy. On this recent visit the food and the service were at the standard we expected. Apparently they had just introduced a new menu and my husband was very pleased with his lamb main course, while the beef bourguignon I had was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed very tasty starters. The restaurant was quite busy and unfortunately the noise level was really uncomfortable and it was very difficult to hold a conversation. The staff did everything they could to see that we were happy despite this but I have to be honest and say it would make us consider carefully before returning. It seems to be the acoustics of the venue.
First visit and will come again. All enjoyable. It was a shame we were in rush and couldn't linger.
Booked for an engagement celebration. Busy evening with a great atmosphere. The menu had a good selection and everyone felt the food was fantastic and the house wine was well priced.
The evening would have been excellent, but after asking for a couple of extra minutes to choose desserts, we were left for the best part of 30mins! We ended up leaving the desserts and it put a bit of a dampener on what was otherwise an excellent meal. Would definitely recommend...perhaps was just a one off!
Once again Charlottes Bistro came up trumps. The food was very good and interesting, with the addition of some really nice bread shortly after arrival at the table. The service was friendly, professional and attentive without being annoying. The wine list provides plenty of interesting choices which made it easy to choose something delicious. Altogether a very enjoyable lunch experience.
Three of us ate early in the evening. The bar staff were welcoming and friendly and did not hurry us to the table so we had time to finish our drinks in the bar. The menu is not long but offers a good variety of dishes, including vegetarian. We had the lamb and the cod - an enormous chunk of delicious fish. The wine list is quite long, with the cheapest bottle at £20. The only negative thing about an otherwise excellent evening is that like so many places these days, they have “timed dining”. To their credit, they didn’t come to hurry us up when our two hours and fifteen minutes tenancy at the table officially came to an end. Altogether a very enjoyable evening
cheered up cold rainy day, really pleasant place to eat in with excellent food and welcoming staff
Lovely ambience as soon as you walk through the door to the bar. Has a French feel to the place. Good drinks, great choice of food to suit most foodies and the staff were really friendly . If we’re in the area would definitely return.
From the moment we entered we were welcomed with the biggest smiles and hellos. Food was great and service absolutely outstanding. Personable, friendly and knowledgable. Steak tartare...wow 👌🏼very lucky to have this so close to home.
I chose this restaurant because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. The chicken liver parfait was lovely and the lamb perfectly cooked.
I especially liked the pear sorbet with oranges - very unusual blend but quite delicious.
I will definitely be going again.
I thought the food was of high quality with an original twist.
If there is a problem with this venue it is the noise levels from other diners. They have to raise their voices so that they can hear each other over the music. The latter seems to be a compulsory feature of restaurants in general and there is no escape from it.
Very good food and friendly service. The early dinner offer was good value and the wine flowed freely, as did I when I left!
Great service, I had the Sea Bass delicious. Most of my guests had the Lamb, 2 serving were a bit fatty, but these were replaced with a better cut, without problem. I would go back.
The service was the best ever in the U.K. having been a restaurant manager in New York City, I was impressed. Well done.
The food, ambience and wines are amazing!
Delicious. Set menu for dinner. Crab starter was nice, lamb main was amazing. Staff helpful and welcoming, just like the other establishments in the group. Atmosphere warm. Would absolutely go again.
Lovely cocktails, good food and very good service. Nicely busy but not noisy.
