Chart House Restaurant - Alexandria
We come to the chart House every year for our anniversary. We like the restaurant and the food
Lovely restaurant right on the water. Great food and beverage. Wonderful service. Highly recommend.
They’re food was awful, it tastes like dog food. I never leave reviews but my god! It was terrible. I’ll stick to mastros.
They have an excellent brunch, and the best view in Alexandria.
Food was good, service good, View was spectacular. Great place in Old Town. Tip: Ask them to stock Strawberry Jelly.
CHARTHOUSE never fails ! We are frequent guests there and enjoy it!! First time trying the PRIME RIB was good. The blueberry salad was very tasty....gotta have your fruits and veggies! Very happy the Host took us since we were over 30 minutes early as well. Top it off with the LAVA CAKE....very good!
By far my favorite restaurant but the server that night was absolutely horrible. But as always the dinner along with the salad bar was delicious.
We've visited a number of times. Always a pleasant event. Great staff and food!
Everything was great until we got our checks. Zack who was one of our waiters kept screwing up our entree orders on my guests’ checks. It was a total mess. 2 of my guests ended up paying for entree’s that they did not order..and he couldn’t get it together.
Good food and wonderful atmosphere. Jamaal provided impeccable service to me and my family for my mother’s 80th birthday celebration.
Very pleasant and cozy. Good food. Frequent patron .
Sat in he deck, beautify sunny day. Good was very good and service excellent.
Food and service were very good. Disappointed they didn’t serve brunch on Saturday.
It was okay
THis a very nice restaurant to take friends and visitors. Very nice view and good food and salad bar.
Unfortunately, the experience here was pretty bad. It’s a beautiful location and our server was really nice. However, our octopus was cold when it came out, my husband’s filet was over cooked, my mahi was also over cooked and pretty bad, and our dessert order was incorrect. They comp’ed our appetizer and apologized. But when you spend $220 on a meal, it’s just sucks to have all the food be messed up. We won’t be going back.
The dinner and service was perfect. We had a great evening and what made it most memorable was God’s Glory and Grace was on display and we saw a double Rainbow that touched our hearts greatly. Thanks for everything that night.
I've already recommended this restaurant to a friend. Food was great, view was terrific, and Service (Ryan our waiter) the best. Well done!
The view is sensational, both of the water and of the people on the waterfront. But the restaurant is very expensive -- two of us had salad, entree and a glass of wine and the bill was close to $150 including tax and tip. That relegates this restaurant to our "special occasion" category -- and I am not sure it would be near the top of that list. The service, however, was exceptional, especially Michael, our waiter, who had the consideration to ask my wife about her choice of wine before pouring it because he sensed she did not choose what she would enjoy. (He was right.)
A wonderful restaurant with great food & ambiance overlooking our Potomac River waterways on a beautiful sunny day. The menu always has exciting seafood items with intriguing & unique combinations with vegetables and sauces that are mouth-watering. You can't beat the Chart House for a special dinner, a night out with friends, a stop for a drink on the patio -- whatever the reason, it's always a good place to enjoy in the City of Alexandria.
As with all Chart House restaurants, you can expect beautiful views, excellent food and service. They are all a but pricey bit you get what you pay for. My group had trout, teriyaki sirloin, crab-stuffed flounder, and swordfish - all perfectly prepared, very flavorful and enjoyable. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out, and it's on a pier that you can walk around after dinner, and look across the water to the National Harbor with it's lit Ferris Wheel and Air Force One replica. (A bonus - it's in an open plaza with the Torpedo Factory if you want to shop for Arts and Crafts, and a few blocks away is Pop's Old Fashioned Ice Cream (109 King St.) which is outstanding, especially the peanut butter chocolate with pretzels, and the salted carmel.) Note that the parking lot is down a small alleyway and is only $2 after 5 p.m. Highly recommended.
Our group of 12 was pleasantly surprised at our excellent experience. It was kind of a slow day at the restaurant. A Tues lunch on a very hot day. The place was uncrowded and we had a great table with a view. Our waiter, Andreas was amazing and relaxed. The food was varied and delicious. Prices are a tad high but location demands that I suppose. The decor was beautiful, the windows on the river clean and well placed. We will be back!
The crap dip was outstanding and we enjoyed the stuffed flounder while experiencing the beautiful water views.
We were seated at a table with a lovely view of the harbor from nearly every seat. The salad bar is a nice, healthy touch. Everyone in our party enjoyed their various entrees. Our waitress had thorough knowledge of the menu and was helpful with recommendations.
Took hubby here for his birthday we haven’t been here in a while and decided to try it. Food was good and so was the service we would most likely come back for a date night without the kids
Great anniversary dinner. They made custom menus for us, gave us a card, and even a special dessert. The view was amazing and the food delicious. Our server Kidling was so sweet!
Went to the Chart House to celebrate our Anniversary. Staff went out of their way to make our dining experience memorable. We had exceptional service and the food was outstanding as well. 5+ star experience!
My parents both ordered a filet and they each at it all!
We usually go to Chart House once or twice a year. Food was excellent. I had the Bourbon Peach glazed scallops and shrimp had the 10 ounce prime rib.
Our waiter , Ian was mediocre. He didn’t seem to know the food, was a little pressuring on how fast the courses were brought. We had to tell him we didn’t want to be rushed. I had asked to be seated in the fire room at the time of reservation, but at least at the Alexandria location, there is never seating.
Our waitress was excellent! She was extremely thouhtful and made the evening quite special for us as she overheard we were celebrating a birthday. Thank you!
Favorite Place to eat in Old Town
Great food ! Needed to be a little cooler inside .
My fish was not cooked to my taste so that was a disappointment but the server was charming and the view was lovely.
Get a seat by the windows overlooking the Potomac. The view is great from there and the food as well. Not too fond of being asked if I want the desert at the beginning of the meal "because it takes so long to prepare" - but at least they let us cancel when we said we were too full for desert but not without "checking with the manager" - I didn't think that was a great response to a situation they created themselves...
Great service! Beautiful views of the Potomac River and yacht basin. Food was fresh and delicious - really nice presentation too. All around excellent experience!
It was my Mom’s 70th Birthday celebration and everything was Perfect! The staff made a special menu for our table, wishing mom a Happy Birthday as well as special dessert. We could not have asked for a better experience. Awesome food, Incredible service, and Great people!!
We went to the Chart House on the 4th of July so we could maybe see some fireworks during our meal - which we did. So basically we chose the restaurant for its location. We used to eat here semi-regularly, but had felt the quality had gone down for the price, so we hadn't been in several years. We were pleasantly surprised on this visit, and will definitely be back. Only complaint: we sat in the bar (near the door) with a friend for about an hour before our reservation, and it was ridiculously hot and humid for a supposedly air conditioned place. The restrooms towards the front were hot too - everyone kept asking if the heat was on. Once we were seated at our table, however, it was very pleasant. And our servers, both in the bar and at our table, were very friendly and efficient.
When we made our reservation, we had requested a table by a window. We did not received a window table, nor was anything said about not being able to accommodate our request. We were, however, seated at a lovely upholstered booth, big enough to accommodate four, though we were only two people. While we very much enjoyed our appetizer (crunchy coconut shrimp), my husband's pecan crusted salmon was just okay, and my prime rib arrived looking like it had been sitting under a warming lamp. It was a terrible color and at first taste, it was barely warm.
My husband has dined at many Chart Houses over the years at business functions. This is the first time he took me to a Chart House and I was quite disappointed.
Our server was a capable, competent and friendly young woman, who I assume had no responsibility for the poor quality of the food. She was anxiuos to please and did a fine job.
Great service as always!! It was my daughters 25th Birthday dinner and the 4th of July! Thanks for making our experience special!
We loved our meal at charthouse Annapolis so we booked in Alexandria. The bar was so full there really was no space to even stand. We were very happy with our table. We had a nice view.the food was just ok and my request to leave dressing and onions off my salad was ignored so I couldn’t eat it. I feel that the food is way overpriced for what you got.
