Doing well post Covid. Salad Bar is not up yet but food and view are still great. Service was well done.
Our waitress, Grace, was PHENOMENAL! The food & drinks were amazing! Highly recommend!
Excellent Service, excellent food. Great dining experience.
Dreadful meal. Poor quality, taste and preparation
Beautiful ambience and the food and service were outstanding.
I was seated at an outside table which gave me an unobstructed view of the harbor and the full moon. The food was excellent - Crab Soup, Spinach Salad, and Surf and Turf Pasta. The drinks were very good - Ultimate Margarita and Pomegranate Mojito.
Great location, very good service and horrible food.
Got a seafood pot pie... which turned out to be undercooked seafood leftovers and spinach with bisque base poured over the top and then a square of puff patty set on top. Not good not filling at $38. Wife's Mac hut magi was average at best.
Place does have a great view... waitress did an awesome job. Will probably only return for drinks but eat elsewhere.
Staff was knowledgeable and professional. Food was delicious and looked splendid. Great place
A wonderful and memorable experience! The service was superb and the food.
Overall, very good. Very nice waitress. My only complaint was that the table was a little small for 6 people. We ended up being a party of only 5, so the table size worked out. However, a 6th could not have possible fit.
Loved the food, cocktails, service, waterside view and the thoughtful birthday extras. I went for brunch and the Lobster Benedict was wonderful!
Service was just right and I will definitely come back. Great for any occasion.
Went for Sunday brunch. The Kim chee calamari, fried green tomatoes and avocado toast appetizers were flavoral and appealing to the eye. The main course brunch items were lacking in flavor to include the shrimp and grits, chicken n'waffles and regular burger. Waffles were dry and burger was overcooked. Server was pleasant but made errors on food orders and wait time for main dishes was lengthy.
Our service was very bad. I got entree before my salad, waited for our waitress way too long. Bathroom we so gross and dirty. This place use to be a gem but not anymore
Food was amazing! Except the lava cake.
Service was slow even though the restaurant was not that busy
Great meal and atmosphere!
Birthday celebration and nice that restaurant gathers all birthday groups in same quieter more intimate part of the building. We had lovely view over the comings and goings in the Potomac River as dusk was settling in. Food was great and service perfectly fine given the wait staff were probably stretched thin on a busy Saturday.
One warning that either allow plenty of time to find parking or use alternative transportation. We had to try 5 parking garages before finding one with spaces. Ended up being 15 minutes late to reservation but restaurant was very gracious about it.
Our time was lovely. Justis was absolutely amazing!
I was there for my bday. The entire entree did not come out all together. We waited an additional 20 mins for mashed potatoes. I never rec’d my bday desert Also waited 15min for steak sauce after the steak was brought out. First time there, not a good experience.
We had an overall amazing time at Chart House. The food was perfect all around. We had the chart your course and the surf and turf pasta. Both were exquisite. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate lava cake and the key lime pie, both of which I could have easily gotten seconds! Staff was incredibly kind and quick on the refills and service. Will highly recommend to any of my friends visiting the area!
The bartender was efficient and nice. The food was excellent. One thing that needs changed though…if you’re putting on CNN at the bar, the other TV should have on Fox. Otherwise, put on two sport stations.
Food was great. Services was a little slow for drinks. But overall the experience was very nice.
We wish we could have ordered everything on the menu! Our 3 dishes were outstanding! Service was excellent and the window table at sunset was divine.
I have eaten here many times and the food has always been great but this time the Caesar salad I ordered didn't look fresh. The majority of the lettuce was clearly from the stem area and nearly every piece had a brown color, likely due to not properly storing it. Apart from this the rest of the food was fine. The grilled swordfish was perfect.
What was not fine was the number of flies that continued to encircle the table. We always eat on the outdoor patio and near had this before. Evidently whatever they normally do to keep insects away was not done this time or they missed the area around our table.
The food, environment, and scenery was amazing! As well the server and staff we had made the experience much more better!!!
The food was great but the service should had been better.
never got drink i ordered. forgot our meal order, ordered twice
We met our friends for a drink at the bar before dinner. We went to our table next to windows which was very nice. Service was a bit slow getting drinks at the table and my husbands and mine were not what we ordered. Correction was made without much delay. Dinner was excellent.
Very good atmosphare, delicious food. I highly recommend
We were seated on the deck on the waterfront. Nice clear sunny day. Nice Breeze and they even were able to make frozen margaritas at request
My family and I have been celebrating important life events and holidays at various Chart House for over 30 years and have not been disappointed. For the last 20 years we've been going to the Chart House-Alexandria (VA) and the service and food is always outstanding.
Food was very good, service was ok, not enough staff, but very friendly, 40 min to get our desert, but overall very good food
We came here for a friend's birthday. Unlike our previous visits, Chart House's food really went downhill. They had one server covering the entire bar dining area where our table was, and the wait time was god-awful. Even though he was super courteous, there are only so many tables that one server can cover. I wish they warned us ahead of time so we could have dined in their main dining room instead (where they clearly had more servers).
Their coconut shrimp appetizer was the one and only delicious dish that was done right. Kimchee calamari was awful - wasn't even a kimchee flavor and the flavor was a bit odd tasting. My friend ordered the turf and surf pasta. He did not know it was a cold pasta dish and the "thai cilantro garlic sauce" was mostly a sweet flavor, ruining his pasta experience. I ordered their mixed seafood grill: the lobster en croute cedar was OK, but both plank salmon and proscuitto wrapped shrimp were very salty, particularly the wrapped shrimp! The bartenders do not know how to mix cocktails - all of our drinks tasted pretty awful and they had no clue about proportion of the required ingredients for each drink. Other than the amazing scenery of the water from the dining room, we were quite disappointed and lost confidence to return here again any time soon.
The food, service, and water view are all excellent and without question Mr. Lee (bartender) and Sara (manager) are the best in the business!
Cocktail de camarones - Shrimp cocktail is simple nothing to impress or to remember
Filet mignon- nothing to remember, plain as weds as the side potatoes
grilled seafood plate was better from the other three
The restaurant is very well located, nice view to deck and Potomac, but food is not that tasty, something I can do my own at home for less than half the price
Always great food and service!
Great Birthday Dinner!
Nervous about eating out in a time of Covid resurgence, we 5 in our 70s and 80s were given a quiet and isolated corner in a bright airy room overlooking the water, and the service was caring, polite, cheerful, prompt and in every way helpful and accommodating. Thank you -- you made our special guest so happy on her birthday.
This is a nice restaurant to watch the boats on the Potomac as well as the water view. We were celebrating a 90th birthday and they were very thoughtful in giving a card to the birthday person as well as a complimentary desert, which was very nice.
However, we were one of the first set of guests (12pm) at lunch time but the Caesar Salad that the four of us ordered with our meals was not fresh and looked and tasted like it had been made the day before or very early that day, where it was limp and the lettuce was very moist. The rest of the meal was good as was the service. One of the better on-water restaurants in Alexandria.
Very intimate restaurant with good food. Menu changes by season which gives you a variety.
