Welcome to CHELI Restaurant in London, situated in the beautiful Elephant Park neighbourhood. Chef Chen, with over 30 years of culinary experience, specialises in Cantonese, Shanghainese and fusion cuisine, fully incorporating the low and slow cooking techniques of Western cuisine, and each dish is full of creativity and craftsmanship.

The interior of the restaurant's muted décor, such as the handcrafted marble tables and French bamboo chairs, exudes CHELI's artistic aesthetic. Our Wine Bar offers speciality cocktails, while you can watch the pastry chefs display their skills in front of the open kitchen. Many, many items on the menu were unavailable which we only found out when we tried to order (i.e. not told in advance) - the explanation was that they were waiting on new menus to be printed...but simply crossing out items no longer available would have managed expecations. The restaurant was not busy but service was quite slow - in particular, tea and tap water look long than is necessary to arrive.

It was a lovely experience to try a variety of different dishes compared to the usual Cantonese offerings. I know it sounds very odd, but my only gripe was the very poor quality tiny paper napkins. Worse than the ones at KFC! It's very hard to eat crab etc without getting messy. They gave you one tiny square of paper. For £170 for 2 people I would have expected a cloth napkin or a finger bowl.

Dining at this restaurant was a delight. I’ve been here before and it was amazing. From start to end, from Xiaolongbao to Seabass, it was just delicious. Will be back for sure!

This place is a hidden gem! We ordered ‘Noodles with Pork trotter’’Noodles with Roast Duck’. It’s only £18.8 for a lunch set, including the noodle and another 2 appetizers and drink. Definitely recommend to try for lunch. I really enjoyed my visit.

Overall the dining experience okay. Food quality was good in terms of what was available. Sadly we were told there was no Dim Sum as the chef who made that was not working. Limited choices for drinks and also deserts as it appeared they were out of stock. Staff were polite and nice although lacked experience and product knowledge of menu items.

Food is tasty, but a bit on a smaller portion side; the service is so so so slow. We were served our drinks 25 mins after we ordered it, and the food was served 30 mins after we ordered it, which is a bit annoying.

It is very frustrated. We booked time at 20:45 but we get no seat when we arrive. I argued and finally they provide seats for us. It is very stressed for serving during Chinese new year. I understand the hectic work but we still get no serve for a while, after stop some waiter they told us it’s only for set meal, no regular menu or even specific meal to order on the set. Has to order in set way. No ability to make food separately. So we decide to leave.
