Booked for lunch with a fried. Restaurant was very quiet, which made the ambience not the best. Also when we left the staff we sitting waiting to leave. The food was very good, especially the mixed seafood curry which was spicy but not hot.
Excellent southern indian cooking!
We waited a while for our drinks, had to ask staff if we could at least get our drinks. When we did, my husband had to ask for a new wine glass as it was dirty, which the waiter did apologies and replace immediately. When we the wine was served, there was spillage on our table but we just over looked that. Food wait wasn’t too long considering it was super busy, so always pre-book.
We both got a dosa each, which was flavourless and bland, compared to dosa’s we have had at other places. Lacked flavour, presentation was okay. Service wasn’t great, no one asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu, just felt like we were rushed. I did ask on my reservation if we could have something special for my husband It was his birthday.
But nothing was mentioned, again very disappointed. First and last visit.
Ambience was very good. Service was quick and the food was good.
Best curry we have had in years. Authentic spicing; zing where there should be zing. Dhosas lovely; Thalis excellent. And looked after my vegan daughter very well.
Food was lovely and the service was on point. I’d definitely recommend eating here if you like Indian cuisine
Fabulous experience! I dined here with my husband and three children. My kids at relatively picky eaters and they all found something here that they loved. The dosas were the best I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was amazing! Service was a little slow but not bad. Great meal and a very memorable experience!
Great place amazing food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you for a lovely evening
Firstly they had set up our table right next to the front entrance of the restaurant, as it was cold night, we asked if we could be moved , luckily they were able to move us .
The food arrived with an extra dish that we hadn’t ordered, so we sent that back . This was our third visit to this restaurant, unfortunately it will be our last , as the food was very bland , compared to the delicious food we had on our first visit! Also the noise level in the restaurant was dreadful, it was very difficult to have a conversation.
Four of us had a lovely dinner. Good overall ambience, but the table they sat us was the worst, next to the restrooms. The food was fresh and delicious and moderately priced. We were happy it was not too spicy, but I could see why other reviewers found it bland. I think they are trying to cater to tourists not used to spicy Indian food. One weird thing is that they kept taking away our still full pitcher of water. It is as if they only had one to share.
Staff were so nice and accommodating. The food was amazing. Service was brilliant.
This is a great restaurant, the food and service was excellent. This establishment was highly recommended by a neighbor that frequently travels to London. next time we are in town we will definitely be coming back!
Good, authentic Indian taste. Value for money, definitely.
The place is small but very popular. The food is authentic and service was quick, polite and responsive. It has the vibe of a popular bistro and has excellent value for money. The chicken chettinad, prawns. Lamb madras, and chicken biryani were all outstanding. Definitely a foodie destination that doesn’t break the bank. The service was also friendly and unfussy. Loved it.
Convenient location, with nice ambience for meeting friends / family. Starters and mains tasted great. Desserts though average and cocktail my partner said was a bit too sweet.
Overall though good night out
The food and service were amazing and made for a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.
Excellent value, food good quality and tasty would definitely use this restaurant on my next London trip
Its a nice environment. Can get quite noisy, depending on the crowd. Food was quite tasty, most dishes we had were creamy and my prawn curry had only 5 prawns which was poor. The dosa was very nice. We were seated under the AC and it did mean our food got cold too quickly (Cold curry isn't nice at the best of times) - its also by the busy service area. If we went again we'd ask to sit elsewhere.
Overall its good, but I've had much better.
Lovely friendly staff and great food. Would recommend.
Yummy food, wonderful service, great prices!
Second visit was just as enjoyable as the first. Highly recommend!
Outstanding yet again, clean and simple food, great staff, a must visit
Poor quality of food - dosa was fine but the starters were nowhere close to South Indian taste. Unlikely to go here again
Great as always, never had a bad meal, highly recommend it.
Great food and fantastic staff
Delicious and authentic food. We ordered two thalis and were very impressed.
Lovely food and pleasant service. Look forward to going back soon!
Food is not as shown in pictures. The service is very basic. Food is not as to expectation
Service was atrocious, food was very average. There are other better options for South Indian food in London. Or maybe one could take a punt and come for lunch on a weekday to see if things improve when there are less customers.
Good, buzzy restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was challenging for the staff (very full), and one bathroom was out of service. Apart from those glitches, I would certainly recommend.
Terrible service, but delicious food
So good - even Sir Garfield Sobers was in there for dinner!! Was amazing
Good food and service reasonably priced
The food was good, the service was very poor, although waiters were polite but they never came around to see if we wanted anything. they seem to be fire fighting and had to look up few times to get their attention. to me that is to right if they are charging service charge. I went with guest and didn't want to cause any bad feeling by posting out that I didn't want to pya service charge as we did not receive any good service!
Very accommodating staff! Great service!
I do like my curries and our lamb and prawn dishes were both excellent. Tasty, as spicy as described in the menu, not at all oily and good portion size.
The restaurant wasn't that busy, and given the lack of natural light, that meant the atmosphere was a bit lacking, otherwise everything else was very good.
I go here often and love the food and decor. However, I had made a late night booking for Sunday for 9.30. When I arrived, they had already put up the “closed” sign. This inconvenienced me and my friend, and I am upset that a booking was ‘allowed’ for a timing when the restaurant closes.
Good wholesome South Indian food, friendly service. The food however did not arrive piping hot, which rather spoiled the experience. The restaurant is both busy and extremely noisy, so if a romantic dinner or a business meeting is your motive for eating here, you would be better off elsewhere.
The service was fantastic and the food was outstanding! Most of us had the Thali “sampler” plates. Try it!
