We have a carefully chosen wine list and an interesting selection of drinks. We look forward to welcoming you to Chez Dominique where you can enjoy good food and drink in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
Loved our lunch. Great food, great value, nice people working. Would recommend to all who value well sourced food in an independent restaurant.
Had a lovely dinner at Chez Dominique, the service was fantastic, very professional staff. The food was delicious - the creme brulee I had for dessert is might be the best I have ever had!
France in Bath. Fantastic food, excellent service from charming owner and his team . Prix Fixe menu great value. We went for lunch , and will return for dinner, thank you for a wonderful lunch .
Fabulous venue , the front of house was wonderfull , as was all staff extremely polite and attentive.
Food was fantastic , so pleased we booked here , highly recommend .
Great food in a small restaurant, that was pleasantly full but not too busy. Staff very attentive without being over-bearing. We had a lovely evening
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and will definitely visit again.
Lovely food and service and great value with the early supper....
Try and get a table in the far room ... very chilly bu the door but guess can’t be helped!....food and service were 5 star x
Rather long wait for food (not surprising given its freshly cooked ) and they forgot my starter!
As it was a risotto (and they apologised profusely) it was suggested I had the main first but I declined.
Extra wine and a brandy added FOC.
The food was superb - the nicest, best cooked chicken my wife has ever tasted.Recommened by TP-B and he was right!
Will come back again when visiting Bath.
Nice place. They need to sort out the entrance which keeps opening and an icy draft detracts from the overall comfort. We had a bad table by the door despite booking months in advance.
Scallops arrived barely warm and not quite cooked. Bean soup was excellent as was the hake. Pork chop was ok, unremarkable. Portion sizes are good, service was pleasant and efficient.
It’s a decent bistro style restaurant, we would go back. It’s a bit pricey for what it is .
Lovely meal. Very good value for money on the fixed price menu. Only complaint very noisy. Also need door closer. Many people left door open causing cold fraught.
Excellent food and atmosphere although the room was a little on the cold side but it was a very cold evening. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
We had the sea bass and it was amazing! The sorbets/ice cream were also delicious, as was the white bean soup! The house prosecco has a crisp apple flavour to it which was beautiful. All the food is tasty and well presented. The atmosphere is lovely, candlelit and romantic. One of the waiters was very friendly and enthusiastic. The only problem was that the other waiter made us leave in a big hurry because they had another party coming in for our table. I appreciate that we had been there for 2 hours, longer than our booking allowed, so it was fair enough to ask us to leave, but it was done very abruptly and our half finished wine was whisked away... other than this last 5 mins, the evening and food was very enjoyable! The early menu is very good value!
Really enjoyed the set menu. It is a friendly, informal restaurant which we will, without doubt, go back to. Excellent value. If there are only 2 or 3 of you, ask for the back room which overlooks the river.
A perfect place for lunch or dinner with a small group of friends or as a couple. The food was incredible - best I've had in a long time and reasonably priced too. Highly recommend!
Very enjoyable and we will go again. Food was excellent. Service a little slow but adequate.
This was our first time in Chez Dominique. We were immediately impressed with the friendly staff. We opted for the set lunch menu and were very pleased. The soup was very tasty , perhaps could have been a little warmer but the main course steak was excellent. I am sure we will be returning some time.
Enjoyable evening what more can you ask of a restaurant?!
Good interesting food, friendly service. Space a bit cramped and noise level fairly high.
Enjoyed our first visit apart from my friend’s steak being underdone! However we thought the rest of the food was good and the ‘manager’ didn't charge for the steak. Thank you!
Our first visit was for a birthday celebration. It definitely will not be our last visit!
Perfect portion size for lunch very well presented in comfortable surroundings with friendly guys n gals
Had a fantastic evening here: Service was excellent; food was delicious; relaxed ambience; and at £18, the set menu was brilliant value. Wholeheartedly recommend.
Lovely special from the board
Halibut with mussels and chorizo
A really enjoyable evening with attentive and friendly service, delicious food. It was also nice to be able to linger and chat and not be rushed away by another set of diners taking the table.
Warm, inviting with a friendly & relaxed atmosphere.
Delicious food of a pleasantly surprising variety and flavour.
Great service and value for money
We had good food presented beautifully a lovely evening
Stumbled upon this place a few years ago and when I visit Bath I bring a friend to experience it! It just gets better and better. I brought my father on the 21.11.2019 . The service was outstanding the food amazing ! Just perfect on an utterly freezing day.
My 87 year old father said it had been the best meal he had eaten!!
Small, cosy and just perfect . A world away from those huge chain restaurants . Thank you. I will be back !!
Fantastic food, fantastic service and some amazing wines. Deserves all the hype. The set menu is amazing value, although we ate off the a-la-Carte. One of the few places we have been to of late where we could have ordered anything off the menu. Would 100% recommend.
Another excellent à la carte lunch in this welcoming and down to earth restaurant. The service was great and the place was full. We will be back there again on our next trip to Bath.
Excellent every time we've been. Food is up there with best in Bath. Very friendly and efficient waiter/waitress. Highly recommended
Very good food, really enjoyed eating there . Helpfull staff
Lunch for 4 on a Saturday afternoon was excellent value. Although the fixed price menu was a little limited ( 3 choices for each course ) it was very tasty and at £18 for 3 courses, fantastic value. Chez Dominique is quite a small restaurant, but the ambience, service and quality of food was excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending and would definitely return if visiting Bath again.
From the welcoming call to confirm booking, great welcome at the restaurant we were made very welcome as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. The buzz and ambiance was great with a birthday champagne. Food is brilliant with a well balanced menu, and as for value I’d expect to pay much more for this quality. Highly recommend- we will be gong back regularly.
Lovely in every aspect
Our most recent visit to Chez Dominique two days ago, was as usual a great experience. Warm atmosphere, with lots of other diners. My sister, visiting from France, was amazed at the quality of the food and value for money. My Onglet steak was delicious, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his Hake dish. The Pannacotta with spicy plums was a real treat - one of the nicest Pannacotta's I've ever had. Chez Dom is one of our favourite places to eat, truly great food and amazing value for money. We've never been disappointed.
Right in the heart of Bath, a traditional style French bistro with a menu to match and excellent service. A great selection of a-la-carte dishes - I could easily have ordered any of them - and a very reasonable set menu of two or three courses. Lively atmosphere without being too noisy. There's a small private dining room at the rear of the restaurant with views of Pultney Weir - if you stand up! All in all, thoroughly recommended.
Always eat here when visiting Bath. Great for lunch with a three course menu or a la carte. Much nicer than the chains.
Great food and solid wine list. However what really makes it is the great service. Always go when in Bath.
Excellent Food. I enjoyed scallops and cauliflower puree as my starter and then had sea bream with samphire and mussels as my main. Very tasty.
Delicious food, great value Sunday lunch menu (especially compared to other nice restaurants in Bath), lovely staff, picturesque part of Bath.
We live in Bath and after dropping in with family one weekend, we booked to go back with friends the following week!
