We have a carefully chosen wine list and an interesting selection of drinks. We look forward to welcoming you to Chez Dominique where you can enjoy good food and drink in a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
Excellent food as ever - delicious Stone Bass
We really loved our dinner at Chez Dom. The atmosphere is lovely and the service attentive and personal. The food was truly outstanding. My lamb dish was one of the best main dishes I have had - so fresh, vibrant flavours - just really enjoyable. Lovely staff and won’t break the bank. Will be back for sure.
Great friendly service - flexible - ability to sit outside for drinks beforehand was great. Service was really great and professional. Food was well cooked and presented. Will definitely be returning again soon
This was the best meal I’ve had in a restaurant for a very long time. We had the ‘prix fixe’ menu, which at £18 for 3 courses was outstanding value for money. Every course was delicious, as was the wine, and the portion sizes were just right. The staff were lovely, and there was a really nice ambience. It’s just a shame that several people with bookings that evening failed to show up - all I can say is, they really missed out.
Lovely table, felt very valued even though first visit. Excellent service, food all delicious. Steak melt in the mouth.
A great find, we shall be back!
Fabulous staff, fantastic food, very relaxed atmosphere but great service, we were lucky enough to get the window seat so fab people watching spot too. Will most definitely be back again
Food and wine excellent. Friendly staff. Charming maitre, d. Highly recommend the scallops and the aged suoin. Beautiful location next to Putney Bridge
A truly authentic French bistro experience. And also a credible and considerate vegetarian offer. Each of these things is a joy. To find them together is a miracle. Huge thanks to the team for making our visit such a pleasure
The restaurant food was average. After reading reviews we had high expectations, and was disappointed. My starter was cold, food was served lacked flavour and was certainly over priced. The service was rushed.
A very enjoyable meal at Chez Dominique with friends visiting for the weekend. The restaurant is designed for a casual vibe and is a very pleasant place to be. Service was good and staff were friendly. We were particularly impressed with the honesty of a waiter who discussed the pros and cons of a dessert with us! The food was very good although the starters were small for the price and the ice cream dessert although inexpensive, was slightly underwhelming - just two scoops of (tasty) ice cream. The skate main was fabulous and the lamb also went down very well. Overall it is just about value for money but it is slightly more expensive than a couple of other similar restaurants I know. Perhaps this is because of the location on Pulteney Bridge but as I live in Bath, that wasn't a particular attraction. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable treat and I am sure we will return in due course.
We were greeted extremely warmly and although we arrived 15mins early, we were seated straight away. The menu and service was great and the food was lovely. Great selection of wine and very varied age ranges of customers. Very nice atmosphere as feels like a family run business. Such a great find for a meal for a weekend away in Bath, would highly recommend.
A lovely lunch experience and family meet up. Very relaxed atmosphere. The staff dwete very attentive. A very efficient service and delicious food. Thank you.
Really excellent food - imaginative combinations and well-prepared. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. The only downside was that it had been a hot day and the head waiter really did need to have taken a shower before the evening shift!
Recommended by a long-term customer of yours. They have recently moved to sw Wales and passed your accolade on
Lovely menu, nice decor, nice ambience and mix patron ages.
We went on a Friday night, early. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was disappointing. I had a starter of panzanella, which was so insubstantial as to be almost non existent and I am not a big eater. It wasn't like any panzanella I'd had before. There were no croutons, just 3 very thin slices of toasted bread. The salad lacked flavour. For the main I had the risotto primavera and again it was disappointing. The rice was soft and not sticky and it lacked flavour. I wasn't expecting pieces of carrot. It was light on the green vegetables. The only dish I enjoyed was the strawberry white chocolate cheesecake. So perhaps it was my selection but I was disappointed.
Outstanding little restaurant . The menu displays skill and flair and staff are friendly and knowledgeable
We had an excellent set lunch that was just right: light enough to be able to order dessert! I will return!
Unpretentious but superbly cooked and flavoured. My first time here, but it won't be my last!
The staff were professional, welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. Super service and amazing food. My Warmest recommendations and will definitely be back! Thank you !!
Amazing dishes and the most welcoming staff all who seemed very familiar with returning faces coming through the door! Real little gem in bath!
Really enjoyed the meal there, had the steak frites which was brilliant. Overall good value too as we went for the fixed price menu.
Excellant local bistro, will go againnext time we visit Bath.
Great small restaurant near the Centre of Bath. Very busy, probably because of University graduations being in full flow. Starters of Crab and Scallops were particularly good, as well as excellent plaice, lamb and trout. Good value
Super little restaurant in central Bath. Lovely food and friendly efficient staff.
Lovely French Restaurant. We always eat here when visiting Bath. Very helpful staff. Great fixed price lunch menu.
The staff were too surly and need to focus on cheering the welcome . The asparagus salad lacked asparagus. Service slow. Meal rescued by excellent monk fish dish.
The prix fixe menu is excellent value and my husband thought his steak was heavenly. Great service - we even sampled a cocktail the staff were creating while we considered our drinks order. Also great for people watching if you're near the window. Highly recommended.
Chez Dominique has a warm, rustic vibe that is perfect for either a meal for two or group dinners. The service was welcoming and hosts were accomodating. The food was lovely and cooked well. Only criticism of the meal was that my green salad was served with no dressing and the creme brulee was overcooked, leaving the sugary topping quite brittle. Other than that, it's a great spot to relax and have dinner.
Great simple tasty food, good service laid back atmosphere. What is not to love highly recommended
Lovely staff - it was a busy Saturday lunchtime yet they looked after us well. Food was slow to arrive but well worth the wait - excellent sea bream for my friend and trout for me. Absolutely delicious. A lovely place to be, especially in the further room, which was quieter. Good value for money.
We were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary and were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco each. A very good start! The food was delicious and our waitress was very attentive. The manager(?) was very friendly and fun. Will definitely return.
My boyfriend and I were looking for a special restaurant to celebrate our vacation in Bath and chose Chez Dominique for an early dinner (6pm) on a Wednesday in July. Upon arriving. we were greeted by Oliver, the manager, who was so very kind in giving us the option to pick our table. We chose the more intimate, airy room with views of the river in the back. My boyfriend chose a rabbit terrine appetizer which he loved and I consulted Oliver further on his suggested fish dish and wine choices. We agreed to try the Bream, a thicker, more delicate white fish similar to Sea Bass. The wine bottle he recommended -Mythique Languedoc - felt like a richer version of a Chenin Blanc. Waitress Nell was super attentive and shared some stories about Bath’s Crescent area. I also noticed the care and beauty of the sous-chefs in the kitchen as they carefully prepared each dish and garnished them carefully. This should be a Michelin rated restaurant! Very reasonably priced! Thank you, Oliver and team for making it very clear to us that any stop at Bath would be incomplete without a dining experience at Chez Dominique!
Cute French restaurant right in Bath. Straight forward and very skilful executed dishes! Very nice and professional service. They really know what they’re doing there..
Can only recommend!
Chez D is a reincarnation of the great days of French Provincial Cookery for which we used to pound the minor roads of France every Spring, Summer, Autumn until, towards the end of the last century, it all began to go so badly wrong as American fast food took over. Last Saturday evening, four of us severally had the Crab and Scallops starters, Chateaubriand and Breast of Guineafowl mains. All these dishes used the finest ingredients and were cooked impeccably. My guests and I can't wait to return to this , one of the finest restaurants in Bath. What more can I say? Je laiche les doigts ...
Lovely meal in relaxed atmosphere, wish it were more local to me!
On vacation we discovered this place. Very nice staff, good food, and nice ambience.
Amazing place! Small, great food and excellent service!
Always a great experience, with fantastic food and friendly service.
We had a pre theatre meal and so able to make use of the 2 course set menu. The fish we had was superb as was the rose. The service was excellent, attentive but not rushed and with humour. We will certainly return. Thank you.
