It was a real experience food was top notch lunch time menu and service was top notice as good as a minclen star
Relaxed sophisticated ambience.
Excellent French cuisine
Every time I come to Bath, dinner at Chez Dominique is a MUST!
Loveliest team who run it who really take care of you. Outstanding food and drink with a creative and delicious seasonal menu and all reasonably priced.
I can’t recommend this place enough!
Some of the dishes take 45 minutes to cook so you need plenty of time. The duck that I had was perfect but my husbands steak was a little tough.
Food was absolutely delicious! Staff very attentive. Will be definitely going back again.
This restaurant is hard to get a reservation and was recommended by our hotel.
Because of that we were looking forward to a good meal.
Positives-very nice staff. Couldn’t have been nicer or more pleasant.
Frites came out hot and we’re good as well as the green beans.
Negatives-food was mediocre at best. We ordered the Skate(which was a special) and the sirloin. I always love to get skate, if offered, and it was overcooked and more bones than edible flesh.
The sirloin was tough. Although the sauce was tasty, there was too much and it overpowered the meat.
I’m sorry to say but I wouldn’t go back nor would I recommend. Perhaps it was an off night.
Fantastic lunch, quality food, beautifully presented, delicious Not rushed, perfect
Fantastic place, best dinner and service in bath during our visit.
Wasnt the chefs best night. Smallest scallops ever seen and those and the accompanying bits of black pudding were burnt. Partridge was excessively gamey. Service was great.
Amazing food and lovely down to earth service!
Good value for excellent quality cuisine.
The best creme brûlée ever!
Would definitely recommend.
And a lovely touch from the restaurant of a glass of bubbly on arrival for our birthday girl in our group.
Would visit again in a heartbeat.
I have not found it easy to find an outstanding restaurant in Bath, but look no further. Efficiently run, great food, attentive friendly service. Great value too. Well done !
probably some of the best food I've ever eaten. the staff are so great here they literally can nor do enough for you from walking in the door to leaving.. brilliant service 👏
Good restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive. Great food with a French angle.
Very enjoyable dinner and excellent service. Would definately recommend.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. Pleasant ambience inside, plenty of room and comfortable at table, and decor is stylish but understated.
Amazing food, lovely waitress and our own little room overlooking the wier. Perfect
All I can say from the warm welcome to the delicious food and lovely decor and surroundings a altogether delightful experience. An unpretentious french restaurant with a good selection of classics as well as more modern food. There was a good selection of wine at a reasonable cost. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent service and really tasty food.
Prompt and courteous service right from the off - these people know how to run a good restaurant.
Visiting bath with friends for the weekend. Delicious. Superb experience. We had a really fantastic evening. The service was great and it was a really memorable evening. The food was really fabulous. Can’t recommend highly enough. We liked it so much we tried to book in for the following night but unsurprisingly they were fully booked
We booked here for our Wedding Anniversary meal. We were welcomed by Julian and his Team offering us 2 glasses of complimentary Prosecco which was a lovely touch. Our meal was superb and we followed Julian’s advice regarding the wine and it too was lovely AND moderately priced. A return is definitely on the cards and I would strongly recommend Chez Dominique to everyone 👍
We’ve been coming to Bath for years and have tried a wide variety of restaurants from fine dining to affordable choices. Our top pick is Chez Dominique. The setting on the bridge is picturesque, the staff are charming and the food is delicious. On our last visit on Saturday 11th September we had a group of 7 so they gave us the whole back room which is great as the front of the restaurant is intimate and romantic for couples. The Georgian homely interior is full of character. The menu changes with whatever is in season and there’s plenty of choice to suit any palate- Steaks, fish, shellfish, vegetarian etc We couldn’t choose between duck with blackberries or pork chop so they offered to split the duck main course into 2 starters and it was definitely worth trying the duck. The ingredients here are consistently fresh and good quality and the chef handles them perfectly. Definitely save room for dessert as the creme brûlée is spot on. You feel as though you’ve been invited into someone’s home for a meal as the whole vibe is laid back, warm and welcoming. Let the worries of the week melt away with a glass of wine, some candlelight, delicious food and great service at Chez Dominique. Considering the Georgian setting and quality of the food, it’s great value for money too.
We went for our anniversary, and we weren’t disappointed. Excellent service, delicious food, and we were made to feel very welcome.
Lovely food as always. We are regulars here. Great food and lovely service. Will return again! Xx
An excellent small (about 9 tables) restaurant offering a good if limited selection of dishes. By keeping the menu smaller this ensures that the food is of the highest quality and perfectly cooked and presented. The lighting and general ambience of the establishment is first class as is the level of service. Not to be missed.
Excellent food and wine pleasant ambiance definitely recommend and revisit
Delicious food with excellent service throughout.
Very good value for money!
An excellent place for a Sunday lunch during our week in Bath.
Lovely food and service as always, would recommend for a relaxed meal
Delicious food served by lovely staff. Could not fault in any way.
Lovely lunch. Service friendly, professional and with humour. Food is excellent. We had different orders and all four of us loved our food. Highly recommended as part of a day trip to Bath.
Great food, would eat almost anything on the menu
I enjoyed my visit very much. Excellent food and wine, efficient friendly service. I felt quite happy dining at Chez Dominique on my own. Sara
This is just a jewel in Baths crown - Family run bistro :- Food & Service Excellent
We will be back
Lovely food and excellent service as always. A superb restaurant
Fabulous restaurant and wonderful food. We were staying near here and walked past it one day, read the menu and booked in for the following evening. Such delicious food! We will be back next time we’re in Bath.
Food and service were very good - very enjoyable experience.
A friend from the area recommended Chez Dominique for my and my partners visit to Bath. We booked a table for dinner at 7:30pm. The menu was enticing and a good variety of options were available.
Beautifully presented, tasty food all served in a friendly atmosphere. The lady and gent who looked after us (sorry I forget their names) were extremely friendly, helpful and chatty but not obtrusive.
A lovely meal in comfortable and friendly surroundings - we will be back the next time we are in Bath.
We had just the loveliest evenings at Chez Domonique, i felt truly spoilt. We sat down inside and it Had been an extremely hot day, they had noticed I was quite pregnant and came Over and offered If I would like to take the outside table as it was cooler, I did as it was very hot! We were also celebrating my birthday, they brought over a champagne flute of raspberry lemonade (because I was pregnant) on the house which really was a lovely touch! The food was outstanding , but what stood out to us the most was the friendly staff, they couldn’t do enough, they were chatty & engaging and were Quick enough to add extra touches using there own initiative. So lovely.
Great little find, food delicious, wine fab and staff treat you like a long lost friend in need of some care and a feed. Thanks so much and hope to return.
An excellent meal; great, friendly service and good well cooked food. Chez Dominique remains my favourite restaurant in Bath.
