Came here with my parents and boyfriend for my birthday meal, unsure what to expect, but the service, food wine was fantastic!!! Could not fault it very impressed will come back!!
Glad to choose a place like this
Really nice and cozy. To come back ASAP
Absolutely my fave spot in West London. Always a lovely ambience and delicious food.
We went to Chicama for my birthday dinner with 7 friends. We had the tasting menu. Overall it was very good food - ceviche was to die for and popcorn chicken was delicious. We found the fish over-cooked but we were also slightly full by then. It was amazing value for £45. The service was also very good. We'll definitely return. Highly recommended!
What an amazing dinner, from start to finish, everything was perfect!
We were running late so called to move the table back half an hour, which wasn't an issue. We were greeted by a friendly server, and the other staff were just a friendly and helpful - the service was incredibly attentive, nothing was too much trouble!
The food was absolutely delicious, we couldn't fault a single thing! The sharing plates were like nothing I'd ever had before, full of flavour and so fresh. The black rice is worth going back for alone, and the pudding was a dream!
I would recommend this to anyone (as long as they like seafood!) and I will hopefully visit again in future!
Food delicious as always. Vegetable options are excellent and prepared very well. Fish excellent when we finally got it.
Service was very poor however. This is my eighth time dining here and our table was neglected several times. Our server forgot to put in our main course order(fish of course) and we had to ask twice about our main course before the service staff realized what had happened.
love the restaurant, food, drink and service all good. relaxed ambiance, can be a bit noisy when restaurant is full but not to a unbearable extend. high recommend!
The food is SO good here! Would recommend 110%! Unfortunately the bar tender let us down with a really terrible pisco sour as it was put through the blender instead of being shaken. The restaurant was not busy enough to excuse this mangling of a cocktail. Last year I had the best pisco sours of my life at Chicama so was sorely disappointed this time around.
Chicama is always a great choice!!
Chicama is one of my favourite restaurants in London right now. The food and drinks are spot on and the atmosphere is smart casual. The passion and energy in the kitchen can be felt throughout so I loved sitting at the bar and watching the amazing team in action.
Great atmosphere and great food although the sweet potato was a bit like trying to eat a football! So would avoid that next time. My only big gripe is that when we arrived for our table at 7.30pm they told us we had to vacate the table by 9pm. They did accommodate us on another table outside when we had to move but we felt like we were being rushed through our dinner and were reminded a couple of times we were running out of time. They should have made this clear on booking, but realistically if you book Chicama for an evening you want to be there for the evening, not back home in bed by 9.30pm!
Too long between dishes to come out. Long wait.
Good and delicious food. Small portions. Slow service for the outdoor area but overall an enjoyable experience and good value.
Excellent food, friendly service. We had a great time!
Visited for a birthday, the restaurant is gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing, salmon cervice, John Dory, aubergine and plantain were absolutely delicious! Friendly service, would definitely recommend!
I was very pleasantly surprised by how good Chicamama was. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, but I also wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as it was. Having taken my 70yo parents there for dinner as something different, I was not convinced it was the right choice. They fly over to visit once a year and we almost always go to Chez Bruce, which they love, so this was quite different indeed.
It seems that we got it right with every menu choice that we made. 'There wasn't a bad dish' was my father's summary and in the end we all ended up finishing what as in front of us... despite being terribly full. We ordered the beignets, brocolli with coffee/chilli dip, grilled cauliflower, aubergine, trout in banana leaf, seabass (whole), blackened octopus, beer ice cream and piura porcelana. I know... more than enough for 4 people and there were 3 of us...
The octopus was incredibly tender and probably my favourite but it's difficult to pick. I was worried that it would be too noisy and the tables would be too close together as some reviewers had mentioned that but even for two septuagenarians, it was ok. The service was friendly and quick without being pretentious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back in a heartbeat.
The food was exceptional and I will definitely be returning. A hidden gem, deserves to be much busier than when we visited on a Sunday evening.
Cramped restaurant, decor non existant. The food is uninspired (the ceviche in particular was very disappointing) and the dishes tiny. Not good value for money. There are much much better Peruvians in London.
Loved Chicama. The food was interesting and tasty. The drinks were really good and the service was friendly and quick.
Would definitely go back
We always love the food but the only problem is with the tables they always try to offer a table a the back of the restaurant. We had to argue to get a table at the front because they were reserving it in case a group of 5 was coming. However during during the whole time we were there no group of 5 show up! We finally got the table but it was painful.
The food was amazing. Definitely recommend the aubergine dish. Service was good, they were really accommodating, not rushed but not slow either. Thanks for a delicious dinner!
I love this place. I had brought a friend for a belated birthday meal, and wanted something special and yet understated; and I got that. This isn't the first time I've come to Chicama and it certainly won't be the last but on each of my visits, its got better and better. Being that I had visited previously, I knew what I was in for, for my friend, she had said this was the best meal she had ever had. The service was incredible, lots of smiles and consideration, especially from Hannah. She was lovely, and hope that everyone who visits gets an opportunity to meet her. She's great. FOOD, thorough recommendations, Tapioca marshmallow, the Aubergine with Plantain Miso and the Scallop Ceviche! Amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Fabulous evening sitting outside; food was delicious and service attentive. Will definitely return to this little gem.
Good atmosphere and food a little pricey
Great selection of unique cuisine. The mushroom ceviche and trout were exquisite.
Amazing food and atmosphere - would definitely go back again
Great position, food and good ambiance. Would recommend.
My boyfriend and I had a lovely dinner before the theatre, the staff were really kind and helpful. Only thing I would say is the size of the dishes are very small and are very expensive for the amount you are served but the general ambience and drinks were lovely.
Chelsea flower show. Pre meal. - deliciously good simple food. Fresh fish simply cooked-you can’t beat it 5*
Always one of our go-tos in Chelsea with buzzy atmosphere and a short but delicious menu. The new covered terrace is adorable. The menu is entirely fish & veg so doesn't work for those who prefer meat. Check out their sister restaurant Pachamama (which is also delicious) in that case. It's loud, so for guests who are bothered by lots of noise you must request a quiet table (and try to go early). Crowd is young but I've brought my 70 year old parents before and they loved it.
We had a lovely meal, unfortunately the Dover sole we ordered wasn’t fresh, but it was replaced the and second was delicious! Everything else we had was delicious!
Everything you would expect for a treat. We had a great time. Thank you :)
Yes, but only the vegeterian dishes, the fish ones could be better
Had an amazing evening: Great food, great place! will definitely go back.
always delicious ceviche and all the fish dishes. amazing grilled cauliflower. great pisco sours.
Food was sensational, great flavours in all the dishes we chose. Fish on the grill was expensive but really good. Sat on terrace which was closed and heated. Definitely with a visit.
Fantastic meal, great service and would definitely recommend! Can’t wait to return - the Pisco Sours are amazing! The dishes do come out at different times (which is what we were expecting) but this made the experience really great.
Lovely food and place. We'd been before and will go again.
Chicama was excellent. The service was attentive, the noise level pleasant and the food outstanding!
