Peruvian
Chicama is a seafood restaurant in Chelsea with a menu inspired by the coastal food of Peru and the bold-flavours of Peruvian cuisine. Fish is delivered daily from Cornwall and the vegetable dishes make inventive use of seasonal British produce. The bar exhibits a concise list of our favourite brands including Pisco, Mezcal, Japanese Whiskey, Sake by the glass and a wine list to accompany the vibrantly-flavoured food.

Food was divine and unexpectedly delicious!
Service was overall good although too standard for this type of venue; i.e. takes time to get notice by the busy waiters.

This being said, it’s a place to visit again and again and again...

Booked on a Sunday and maybe that was the problem?
Had sold out of many things, food and drink.
Pisco sours lovely. Service great.
Canned music a bit loud.
But quite a few things sold out.
Overall quite good was good and interesting BUT
Do not order the mixed seafood at £80. This is not worth it and actually badly over cooked.

My husband and I had an amazing evening. The food was excellent, best meal we have had in a long time. The octopus was fantastic! Service was amazing. The table wasn’t ready when we arrived but they found somewhere for us to sit while we waited and offered us cocktail, we were stunning. The atmosphere is great, quite noisy but in a good way, very buzzy. We will be back very soon!

If I had to find a fault, it would be the service a little bit too rushed. We were having the tasting menu and I felt like I was being rushed and not fully savouring every dish.

the food is amazing. The plates are not very big so you will have to order a few options. I highly recommend the monkfish.

Terrible, waste of £100. Waitress served my pregnant wife a margarita even though she ordered a mocktail. Then our trout (entree) was served nearly raw even though it was supposed to be cooked. When we asked the waitress about the food and expressed our concern with the fish (pregnant women shouldn't be eating undercooked fish or meat), she said it was fine and we should just eat it. I then nibbled at my fish but was completely turned off when I realised mine was even more undercooked then my wife's...It looked like sashimi with only the very outer edge seared. I asked a second time to have both the entrees cooked a bit more and she finally relented, but we got no apology, sorry for the inconvenience etc etc, just an angry stare. Totally unacceptable, whether the fish was supposed to be like that or not (note, I've had this entree about half a dozen times before at Chicama and it was never served like this), the fact that my wife was uncomfortable eating should have been enough reason for the waitress to request that it be cooked a bit more. Never going back despite having some great meals in years past. Service seems to have changed at the restaurant.

Had the £45 tasting menu. Food is quite good but a bit overpriced. A la carte mains are about £15 each and staff suggested at least 3, so don't recommend that option unless ready to get a pricey bill. We were seated in the outdoors area, which was very cold. Overall, I wouldn't go back, feel like you can find much better value elsewhere.

We have a taste for seafood and fish, and we’re comfortable with the idea of sharing plates, so the restaurant’s concept suited us well. We tried the tasting menu and enjoyed every dish on it. Even the black rice was a highlight.

The food was faultless at Chicama. We enjoyed the sea bass ceviche with truffle shavings & the papaya crab salad and the charred cabbage which was a particular highlight!

We felt what let the place down was the service being very rushed; the waiters were very quick to take plates away before we had finished multiple times even though the restaurant was quiet.

I’ve been here a few tines before and loved it. I was disappointed this time. Pretty average experience. Waiting staff are aren’t very nice or well trained. Wines are significantly overpriced for average wines as well. Not worth the price

This was my second time visiting and I was a little bit disappointed. This time I didn't find the food anything special and it is a little pricey for what it is. I do recommend it for a first time visit though. The atmosphere is good and the staff attentive. I am also a bit old fashioned though. I don't think dogs should be allowed in a restaurant at dinner time. It just feels unhygienic.

Our favorite restaurant in London-- and right up the road! The food is off the charts. The atmosphere is gorgeous and lively. Everyone who works there is friendly, fun and very very good at what they do. I almost hate to write this, cause it's hard enough to get in now... just hope it stays in the neighborhood. We love it!

Went on Saturday lunchtime, the setting was cool with a good buzz to it. Some of the dishes were excellent (aubergine, squid, tuna tostadas) but I’m not sure paying £9 for grilled broccoli with a dip was good value for money (and it wasn’t that special).

We really enjoyed our lunch at Chicama.
The Lunch tasting menu was original and imaginative. The whole fish course with black rice was simple, but beautifully cooked, and packed with flavour. The banana desert, an absolute triumph!
Great food, great service, great value.
Well done. We will be back.

Shambolic. Not the first time that I have been there . But the worst time. Plates were delivered in the wrong order, and too fast instead of repeatedly being asked to slow down. Too many different servers working on all tables so no one knew what was going on. Served bream instead of bass , then blatantly lied to. Before the dessert arrived a server tried to give us starters all over again. Most diners were voicing similar complaints . And most servers didn’t care. What a shame

Nothing special about the food. Rather unprofessional service.
Poor price / quality ratio.

We don't recommend Chicama for brunch. There are better options in Chelsea.
