Service impeccable, food was wonderful, lovely setting would highly recommend
Good restaurant, nice food, service had a few issues that evening.
I’ve been to this restaurant a number of times and it has never failed to impress. Service was impeccable. They now have a menu with allergens listed which made one of my dining companions who is lactose intolerant very happy! Seafood was fresh and well cooked. Restaurant has a very relaxed and comfortable feel. Expensive but it’s consistent with location and quality of the food. Highly recommended.
Lovely place with great food. We had the tasting menu ( 1 vegetarian and 2 regular) and loved pretty much everything! Food was tasty, fish was fresh and we loved the concept of sharing everything. I also felt it was fairly priced. Overall will highly recommend it.
Very good foods and very nice location👍👍
Food was delicious. Especially fish.
It was all fine, very good looking but not the best overall tasting. Service was a bit all over the place. Better in pictures than reality.
Very good experience as always. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is amazing.
Amazing food and ambiance!
Absolutely amazing. Love the shared plates. Exquisite selections and lovely presentation. The Aubergine was amazing as the tuna. Service was friendly and attentive. Manager was so accommodating and pleasant. Took the time to engage in delightful conversation and story if the restaurant
We just loved Chicama. We went for the fish tasting menu, absolute heaven.
A lovely ambience, with a nice relaxed vibe. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a lovely evening
Good food, very pretty space. We went at lunch and it was quiet and relaxed.
We had taster menu. It started well with raw fish with sauces but soon descended into a dark valley of stodgy vegetables and ither unknown substances in over flavoured sauces. One sauce which looked like porridge kept returning. And what did they do to the aubergine? Sickly sweet and cheesy? By the end of the meal was very pleased to be leaving. Unsubtle flavour overkill and often too salty. Helped along by overly bassy music. A disappointment.
Food was really good. Unusual dishes with lovey flavour combinations, some with a good kick of chilli. The sauces that accompanied each dish were especially nice and always had just the right amount. Everything was cooked really well and the waiters were attentive. I wasn’t sure the chart music really added anything to the atmosphere, but perhaps that is just a matter of opinion.
we love this place. Excellent, fresh and inventive. Always top quality.
Lovely ambience, welcoming and knowledgeable staff, and really great food.
I went with my husband for dinner during are vacation in London to Chicama. We had a great time, I strongly recommend anyone to go to this restaurant, it has a creative delicious menu and great costumer service. We loved it.
Superb food and service as usual. We live coming back.
I booked Chicama for a friends reunion hoping that it would be a nice, chilled environment where people could catch up while being able to enjoy the atmosphere and listen to each other. This did not happen as we got the table by the door, where a queue started to form shortly after we sat down for our booking at 7pm. The acoustics were terrible and the noise levels unreal. Perhaps it would have been better on a week night. The food was great and so were the drinks. Service was done with a smile, however, anyone could sense they could not wait to get you out so as to get the next seating in. It’s just not what you expect when you spend quite reasonable amounts of money. It was not a relaxed evening as the diners were made to feel on edge due to the noise and the fact that the waiters and waitresses were wizzing around waiting for us to either place more food/drink orders (which was impossible as we went for the tasting menu), or get you out as soon as possible. I would probably go again, as I really did enjoy the food, but never again on a Saturday night. It’s the kind of place where people go ‘to be seen’ and it just gets so easily packed which can ruin the experience.
The food was incredibly flavorful and the tastes were unique. Their service was so good and the staff were the friendliest and warm. The overall experience was one of our best here in London.
My first visit and it was fantastic, Couldn’t recommend more highly loved it and will be back!
Great setting. Tasty food but small portions for the money. Service was also a bit slow and unattentive
You can't go wrong. All great 👍👍👍
Came here with my parents and boyfriend for my birthday meal, unsure what to expect, but the service, food wine was fantastic!!! Could not fault it very impressed will come back!!
Glad to choose a place like this
Really nice and cozy. To come back ASAP
We went to Chicama for my birthday dinner with 7 friends. We had the tasting menu. Overall it was very good food - ceviche was to die for and popcorn chicken was delicious. We found the fish over-cooked but we were also slightly full by then. It was amazing value for £45. The service was also very good. We'll definitely return. Highly recommended!
What an amazing dinner, from start to finish, everything was perfect!
We were running late so called to move the table back half an hour, which wasn't an issue. We were greeted by a friendly server, and the other staff were just a friendly and helpful - the service was incredibly attentive, nothing was too much trouble!
The food was absolutely delicious, we couldn't fault a single thing! The sharing plates were like nothing I'd ever had before, full of flavour and so fresh. The black rice is worth going back for alone, and the pudding was a dream!
I would recommend this to anyone (as long as they like seafood!) and I will hopefully visit again in future!
Food delicious as always. Vegetable options are excellent and prepared very well. Fish excellent when we finally got it.
Service was very poor however. This is my eighth time dining here and our table was neglected several times. Our server forgot to put in our main course order(fish of course) and we had to ask twice about our main course before the service staff realized what had happened.
love the restaurant, food, drink and service all good. relaxed ambiance, can be a bit noisy when restaurant is full but not to a unbearable extend. high recommend!
The food is SO good here! Would recommend 110%! Unfortunately the bar tender let us down with a really terrible pisco sour as it was put through the blender instead of being shaken. The restaurant was not busy enough to excuse this mangling of a cocktail. Last year I had the best pisco sours of my life at Chicama so was sorely disappointed this time around.
Chicama is always a great choice!!
Chicama is one of my favourite restaurants in London right now. The food and drinks are spot on and the atmosphere is smart casual. The passion and energy in the kitchen can be felt throughout so I loved sitting at the bar and watching the amazing team in action.
Great atmosphere and great food although the sweet potato was a bit like trying to eat a football! So would avoid that next time. My only big gripe is that when we arrived for our table at 7.30pm they told us we had to vacate the table by 9pm. They did accommodate us on another table outside when we had to move but we felt like we were being rushed through our dinner and were reminded a couple of times we were running out of time. They should have made this clear on booking, but realistically if you book Chicama for an evening you want to be there for the evening, not back home in bed by 9.30pm!
Too long between dishes to come out. Long wait.
Good and delicious food. Small portions. Slow service for the outdoor area but overall an enjoyable experience and good value.
Excellent food, friendly service. We had a great time!
Visited for a birthday, the restaurant is gorgeous with a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing, salmon cervice, John Dory, aubergine and plantain were absolutely delicious! Friendly service, would definitely recommend!
I was very pleasantly surprised by how good Chicamama was. I wasn't expecting it to be bad, but I also wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as it was. Having taken my 70yo parents there for dinner as something different, I was not convinced it was the right choice. They fly over to visit once a year and we almost always go to Chez Bruce, which they love, so this was quite different indeed.
It seems that we got it right with every menu choice that we made. 'There wasn't a bad dish' was my father's summary and in the end we all ended up finishing what as in front of us... despite being terribly full. We ordered the beignets, brocolli with coffee/chilli dip, grilled cauliflower, aubergine, trout in banana leaf, seabass (whole), blackened octopus, beer ice cream and piura porcelana. I know... more than enough for 4 people and there were 3 of us...
The octopus was incredibly tender and probably my favourite but it's difficult to pick. I was worried that it would be too noisy and the tables would be too close together as some reviewers had mentioned that but even for two septuagenarians, it was ok. The service was friendly and quick without being pretentious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would go back in a heartbeat.
The food was exceptional and I will definitely be returning. A hidden gem, deserves to be much busier than when we visited on a Sunday evening.
