Meet a friend after 40 years we both loved the taster menu . Never tried Peruvian cuisine before but can thoroughly recommend it. Would definitely come again !!
Two of us had the vegan tasting menu and compared to the other three in our party with regular tasting menu it was a poor experience- fewer dishes and rather unimaginative at times .. broccoli with a few bits of dried chilliS.. called ‘vegan broccoli’ and the rest of the dishes were basically roasted or grilled vegetables with little sauce and not Interesting.. no seeds nuts or pulses .. I would not choose that again
Most of the food was very good save for the blackened octopus which over done. The service was haphazard and without due attention.
Service was really bad - always having to ask for a drink even when empty, ages to be served, not observant at all. Both the chefs and the waiters were really moody too. Good food though, all nicely cooked. Wouldn’t recommend the bar seating if you’ve got any hearing issues as it was so incredibly loud that we couldn’t really hear one another.
Best of the best👌
Amazing quality throughout, clever dishes and very prompt and lovely service
I did book my table more than a week before the date. I requested a table outside, but this was not possible when I came to the restaurant, very disappointed, because other people that came in were asked if they wanted to sit outside. After 20 min I had the possibility to sit outside. I wanted to eat the popcorn monkfish cheeks, but the waiter told me these weren’t available. Another table asked for it and it was no problem and they got the monkfish cheeks. The plate that I ate was squid with quinoa. The taste was nice, but 3 small pieces of squid with the rest of the plate filled with quinoa, an absolute joke for 19£. The sparkling water that I ordered was super flat. The grilled market fish was nice, but 30£ for a small lemon sole is quite expensive. The taste was good again, but not special at all. At least the dessert was very nice (choux pastry)
Would not come back to this restaurant, because of the poor service and bad price/quality. There are a lot better places around.
The food is incredible with great service and an aesthetic restaurant.
Really lovely lunch (the weekend brunch menu). Ordered a range of dishes and none disappointed! Highlight was probably the octopus and spicy crab and papaya salad but the aubergine and poke bowl were also great.
Really liked the space was quiet. given the current Covid situation and being slightly more vulnerable category it was so relaxing that my friend and I had space, tables weren't pushed too close together. Overall the whole set up was very relaxing and lovely for a slow sunday!
The tasting menu was good for the price, lots of interesting flavours and good variety but nothing ‘wow’. The service was really hurried, however, which really dampened the experience for us. We were rushed through 7 (out of 8) dishes in 50 mins!! We had to ask for a break and at one point (which during the 20 mins we were asked twice if we were ready for the next dish) and had 5 courses on the table at one point. Way too quick and with a tasting menu it’s about the experience and drawing out the courses so you’re not super full.
The pisco sours were nice but very small portions for the £11 price tag.
Overall ok but would not go again.
Fantastic food and service great ambience. Fab fish restaurant
Alwasy recommended, it's one of my favourite place. Food is amazing!
Amazing meal and atmosphere
The food was lovely, and so were the attentive staff!
Something special here. Fantastic food with unique flavours. Wonderful service. A real treat!
Great food and drinks and friendly staff as always!
Been there on a very busy Saturday evening. Food was superb but service could improve. Had to request twice for sparkling water, waiter took a while to come to our table and to bring the bill... highlight was the octopus. Would come back on a less busy evening
Very nice food and good vibe. Very attentive staff.
Very nice seafood restaurant. It also had vegetarian and vegan options.
I safe bet in Chelsea. Covid friendly with delicious food and good service. Pisco sour is a must. Nice and cosy terrace.
Amazing food and best pisco sour I’ve had in London
Great food, very busy but staff remained relatively attentive
Favourite restaurant at the moment! Pricey but worth it ❤️
The food was wonderful but the service was absolutely appalling.
This has been my favourite restaurant in London fir the last year or so. Consistently friendly, great atmosphere and fantastic food.
Casual and easygoing, with outstanding quality of service and food
Terrible service. One of the worst dining experiences ever had at a restaurant in London.
Nobody to greet us when we arrived, other than a passing waiter (who ignored us first) and then just told us to wait in the doorway. The wait was 10 minutes without being greeted. Finally another waiter came and asked if we had a reservation (again). We said yes, and he said they don’t have any tables, only seats at the bar. He said he’d show us a table when one became available (not sure why we booked then).
Another couple behind us was also shown to the bar. Nobody came and served us for another 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the couple who came in behind us was shown to a table before us, and ordered food, all before we were asked what we’d like to order. Then we were shown outside where there were 3 empty tables. We didn’t know which one to sit at - none were set up. So we sat at one. It was very cold so we asked for a table inside (again). Then we were shown inside to a small table near the door.
Then the food came out, in no order, with mains coming before starters. The plates couldn’t fit on the tiny table.
When we ordered cocktails, we were told they only had ingredients to make one of the cocktails. The waiter was not at all polite, and didn’t apologise for the embarrassing situation. Instead just said, they don’t have the ingredients, so asked which one do we want. The drinks were bland.
Food was actually ok though, despite the horrendous mess that you have to go through to get it. Not worth it.
All in all, staff were very unprofessional, impolite and clearly didn’t want to be there. Never smiled, never apologised for all the inconveniences (moving tables twice, no drinks, waiting and not being served) - everything seemed like an inconvenience to the waiters, and the whole experience was terrible. Not what you’d expect for £100/head.
I have never written a review of a restaurant, but this had to be said. Worst service ever experienced at a restaurant in London.
Delicious and well-thought out Peruvian small plates with excellent service and atmosphere. Pisco sours were some of the best I've had.
Portion? Really small for the price that they charge. Pisco sour? Bland. Food? Tasted amazing!
If you don’t mind to get ripped with the prices and size, go ahead!
The food was amazing, from the starters to the ceviche and the miso aubergine. The atmosphere was lovely, just a bit cold outside, but rather than that it was a very good experience and I would def recommend it. With the Eat Out Help Out, it was a bargain!
The food and aesthetic at Chicama were perfect! Special thanks to our servers for their attentiveness and friendliness. Our one note would be the music — not great. A South American playlist would have been perfect.
Lovely Fresh food, beautiful interiors and great for dealing with allergens, the menu could be easily adapted in a safe way for my two allergies, gluten and dairy without a fuss.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 amazing food, atmosphere, drinks - perfect evening!
Wonderful food and service. Will be back.
Delicious imaginative food and a great atmosphere!
Food as fantastic as ever and the service delightful! Always a treat to eat at Chicama.
The only minus was that the music was too loud on top of the noise of people and laughing, making it very difficult to have a conversation.
Generally slow service and forgot a dish - think food is overpriced for what you get.
Very happy to pay a lot for delicious vegetables but they should taste amazing.
Am not inspired to return.
it was an excellent dinner, food and service were awesome, bit pricey but think overall it is good value for money, just my contribution for further improvement, I found it a bit noisy (probably low ceiling), not sure you can do anything about but just wanted to give my feedback.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately, today the service was very slow. Food was still amazing, and with the Eat Out to Help Out discount it was excellent value for money!
The food and ambience was great the problem was with the service. We ordered the tasting menu everything took ages to come, waiters were difficult to get hold of, we needed to ask for things many times, the final bill had mistakes.
The waiters were nice and apologetic and we were given an extra desert as they probably realised the poor timings of dishes but overall it was painful.
A real shame as the food and atmosphere is great. The team there are great too but there is just something missing.
We put it down to us ordering the tasting menu which is probably hard to deliver for a busy kitchen (if you cannot deliver then better leave this off the menu I would suggest)
My final thoughts is that we will give it another try in the future but we will not order a tasting menus this time.
Really nice place for share a good moment with a friend or parents. Just a bit expensive.
