Chin Chin Sydney
Chin Chin restaurant is open 11am till late, 7 days a week and focuses on South-East Asian cuisine with Benjamin Cooper at the helm as executive chef. We're modeled on the dining halls of Asia with a shared-eating concept and therefore operate on a walk-in only policy for groups of less than 8.
Food is excellent, however the strictly enforced 2 hour time limit made the meal feel rushed, given we were a large group.
Exceptional creative tasty food with an asian slant.
Very friendly and attentive service
great dinner with warm wonderful service! ChinChin has its own sydney style vibe now, and its a great experience. Service is warm , casual (in a nice way) , and very attentive. There is a great vibe amongst the crew here that creates a great feeling. The food is zingy, tasty and beautifully presented. The social distancing table set up I think makes it better than before. Highly recommend dining here !
Small portions and very expensive. Food was similar to your average local corner thai spot but triple the price and half the size. More of a place to add to instagram to say you were there.
Lovely fresh food and good service. Music was too loud and felt like I was in a nightclub. They did turn it down a notch after requesting, although still too loud making conversation laboured.
Enjoyed the varied and delicious food otherwise.
What a experience!the place is pretty cool, good music, beautiful people, the food.. OMG, I can’t remember last time I went on a rest and enjoyed every single dish.. cheff you’re another level! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks to Lina our waitress she made our experience way batter, so kind, always checking in on us ♥️ Joy another lovely and helpful waitress, always asking sure we were having the best service. Can’t wait to go back to this place and enjoy those AMAZING drinks🍸
Very good food and extensive wine list. Reasonably expensive and very good service given the food limitations we gave them.
Quite loud. Could turn down the sound level.
I have been to Chin Chins in the past and been underwhelmed however last night was a very pleasant surprise. We chose from the menu and all dishes were super tasty, particularly the pork roll ups, chicken wings and Tom yum fried rice. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable and this time we did not feel rushed in any way. I will be going back!
Food was amazing, we had a great table for 10, our waiter Tom was awesome and fun. Favourite lunch spot !!
Always a favourite and feel so lucky to live in Sydney and have it here!
The second time I visited Chin Chin and never been disappointed. Last night was amazing. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The staff are friendly, helpful, accommodating and approachable. Overall, we will recommend Chin Chin and surely will come back. Thank you again.
We had a blast and were well looked after for our Fathers Day celebration
Amazing food and ambience!
Chin Chin never disappoints. Yum :)
Loudest restaurant have ever been in. Food wS nice but it was a relief to leave. Music was so loud I couldn't hear my husband speaking from half a metre across the table.
Very good food provided by efficient & effective staff in a friendly & helpful manner.
Plenty of food choices on the menu and vegan friendly. Dj created a fun atmosphere and the place had a great feel.
Great menu, and meals were outstanding. Such eclectic menu choices
Booked an early table at 5 for a quick bite to eat. Great music but I still found I walked out with sore throat from yelling to be heard- very busy.
Food was excellent. Butter chicken was delicious. The service was good but felt it was a little stand offish when we didn’t order a lot of food.
The only thing that bothered me was that when the bill came, there was a “R U OK day $2 donation “ on the bill. They didn’t ask for consent anywhere at any time....happy to donate but automatic addition?
Excellent food but noise levels are intolerable.
The food was extremely salty. Between 3 people, we had ordered 4 dishes - the rendang curry, barramundi and pork salad, pork roll-ups and the pork and Thai basil with crackling. However, despite not ordering very much, we couldn't finish the food as it was too salty. For the portion and quality of the dish, the food was overpriced and overhyped on social media. My friends and I will probably never go back again.
The music was too loud, wine choices were unavailable and the staff could be more hospitable
So glad we have a Chin Chin in Sydney. Def one of my favourite restaurants. Service is great and food is even better. $69 100% worth it. Thanks for an amazing experience as always
Wonderful lunch at Chin Chin . Would highly recommend
Pork and Barramundi both totally overcooked, dry, bit burnt, waiter distant, rude, unhelpful. Overcrowded during Covid.
Every. Single. Bite. was met with “yum”, “oh my god”, or soooooo good”. The Hawker Hall yum cha menu was great value, with just enough food to leave with a full belly, and not stuff yourself silly. The cocktails were exceptional. Highly recommend the Tommy Says Relax.
Yum Cha Cha Cha!The music, the food, the cocktails! The most fun you can have in a two hour seating!
Everything we ordered tasted amazing. We had the kingfish sashimi, barramundi and pork salad and beef rendang. Service was friendly, attentive and faultless.
We have been to ChiChin several times, and each time the food and service has been excellent. It has a great vibe with great music play list. Whilst its a little on the pricy side it's wonderful experience.
Staff were very helpful and cheerful. Constant check-ins without being too much which was nice. We ordered the ‘Feed Me 1’ set menu and dishes were delicious, even got to choose a couple from the menu which restaurant was accomodating. Finally, dessert came out with a candle as we told the waiter earlier in the night, we’re celebrating an anniversary - loved this!! All in all, 10/10 night for us
Good food, average service. Didn’t feel welcome!!! Kingfish was amazing. Would come back however not any time soo as we felt staff were not interested and couldn’t speak to the menu when we had questions on what to order. We eat out a few times of week and had expected a high standard but disappointed.
Highly disappointed made a booking still had to wait in line outdoors freezing then waited again indoors on a couch for our table. We ordered 3 dishes, when ordering one of our dishes our waiter asked us how we like chilli we told her no chilli at all and the dish ended up coming out drenched in chilli it was too hot for us to eat. The pad see ew tasted like plastic and one of the beef pieces were uncooked it was uneatable. We only enjoyed the pork pancakes and our alcoholic beverages.
We had an excellent meal from the “feed me” menu in January 2020 and were excited to return. We felt that the quality of the meal had dropped significantly on the second visit. We left feeling disappointed and a bit ripped off. The highlight of the meal was the panacotta dessert and the king fish sashimi. All I remember from the rest was piles of green leaves and carbohydrates. There was barely any protein in e rest of the meal. I felt this was a cost saving measure on the part of the restaurant
This place is great, with good food and great service. A fairly quiet environment give the number of people inside. The decor is appealing and much better than their Melbourne Counterpart.
Recommend for parties and big groups. A fun place, but food was average and not cheap.
Loved the atmosphere, staff were super attentive and food was next level.... totally recommend. Great Friday night spot.
Amazing food, service & atmosphere as always!
Fabulous food & drinks, vibrant atmosphere and super service! Can’t wait to go back
We enjoyed our experience and loved the specials.
Can’t wait to go back for the prawn noodles and cocktails
