A “foodies” paradise!
Amazing ! I love this restaurant
I’ve been meaning to try this place for a while and WOW. Unfortunately we weren’t seated until 30 minutes past our reservation time but the manager was very nice, introduced himself and apologized and gave us a free tapa for our trouble. The food had so much flavor and the drinks were delicious.
It was a tremendous experience. Definitely plan on returning soon.
Good place for a date, food was perfect
Wonderful experience. Food was great , really well prepared. The fried yuca is fantastic, the classic ceviche wonderful and teh octopus super delicious
Kuddos to Alexander, our waiter that did a fantastic review
We had a wonderful meal. Drinks and wine were good. Service was excellent. The only disappointments were the ceviche and the temperature of the chips. Other than that: the dumplings, yuca, cauliflower, etc were all delicious and creative. Beautiful presentation.
The menu was very unique and everything was delicious. The service was very good as well. There was a really good selection of cocktails and wines as well.
Restaurent week lunch was delicious! Great food and great value. Try the fried yucca!
The restaurant has great ambiance but failed to deliver on food. It says Asian Preuvian fusion, but I didn't see any fusion. There were Asian (Japanese, Chinese, etc.) dishes on the menu and Peruvian dishes. Also nothing really to wow you. Went here for restaurant week for $35 pre-fixe menu, and probably not going back again.
I went to lunch during restaurant week. I had not been there before because I I thought mixing the different food cultures didn't sound very good. However, the food was excellent, well-seasoned but not overly spicy (I used the sauce that came with the shrimp-pork dumplings sparingly). The Aeropuerto was just right, mixing soft and crispy items with a wonderful flavor. The Peruvian dessert, Suspiro Limeña, was very good, with the tangy passion fruit over the custard. I will definitely be back.
It was my birthday. They provided a surprise, absolutely delicious dessert with a candle. What fun!
the 4-course meal for restaurant week was great. Our drinks came a little late and two courses came all at once for some reason. Most of the food was good but the tuna was very fishy and the fried plantain dessert was supposed to be ice cream with fried plantain but it ended up literally being fried plantain and whipped cream....
The other dessert was great, liked the passionfruit balance with the condensed milk custard. Most of the food was good. The ambiance is good for dates and small party dinners.
It was awesome! Never disappointed and proud to invite family and friends!
Have dined here before with positive results. However this time around I believe we got served some perhaps not so good sashimi like tuna in the donburi dish. Have been having stomach issues for 2 days now after this meal and therefore not very happy. Also as much as the waiters are friendly, I do feel like they are too eager to pick up the plates from the table so we diners felt rushed. Another suggestion to restaurant— since it’s tapas style consider using smaller brimmed plates to hold the same quantity of food given since the dining tables for 2 are on the smaller side. The drinks were good but it may be a while before I return.
Food is always amazing
One of my favorite places in DC, creating a unique take on Peruvian and Asian cuisine that never disappoints.
For a serious foodie, this is absolutely one of the very best restaurants in Washington DC. I recommend the Chef's Tasting Menu as an opportunity to experience a broader range of the artistry of this kitchen. It is truly amazing.
The food was great, very creative and fantastic flavors. i liked that they had Tuesday specials at almost half price. That was a good deal. The menu is small which is good and the suspiro dessert is one of my favorites in the entire DC metro area. Delicious.
The Aeropuerto fried rice dish cake with a large (1”) piece of plastic in the dish. We pointed it out to the manager and he replaced the dish but made a point of claiming the chef had no ideas and couldn’t imagine where it came from. No comped dish or drinks, no apology, nothing.
Very good server. Attentive, helpful, pleasant. Busboy pleasant, efficient. Food good, creative, satisfying. Setting comfortable, unrushed. Thanks.
Food and cocktails are superb. Go for the octopus seviche. Trust me. Place is packed and energetic. If you don't like being crowded then you might go elsewhere, but that's what you put up with for great cuisine.
We loved it!
Good food, pleasant atmosphere. Great Pisco sours.
Great location in DC. Good foo selection. Our food was delicious. Wait staff was excellent.
Fun ambiance and hip decor.
Interesting and unique menu, great food and reasonable prices in a bright setting close to the Cap One aren and Shakespeare Theater.
It was a perfect way to end the Year 2019. Merci , muchas gracias, thanks!
China Chilcano is the hidden gem of the Jose Andres restaurants in DC. It features Peruvian, Chinese, and Japanese food and dishes. The variety and range of options include soup dumplings, ceviches, and sushi and several peruvian-influenced potato and veg dishes. The pisco sours are great, and the service is excellent. The happy hour is daily from 4-6 (yes even on weekends)
Fun atmosphere for a special occasion. Food was delicious and interesting. Service was extremely slow and servers seemed overwhelmed. Once food was ordered, came quickly, but we were ignored for long periods of time and were there over 3 hours!!
Fantastic dinner. The server, Alana, was exceptional and the food was amazing. I'm gluten free and they couldn't have been more helpful to me (lots of options!). I wish they had this restaurant in Chicago, I'd be there all the time.
Quality and freshness of the food was key here. The handmade dumplings were the epitome of comfort food. It’s a cliche but they did “melt in your mouth”. I had only one complaint and it was a cebiche with the Tigre de leche. The pile of onions on top were raw and had not been marinated at all. Too overpowering, but I just pushed them aside.
We also loved the ambiance and decor. The design of the restaurant also helps tone down the noise level.
Everything was great. The octopus ceviche was the best item that evening. Noodles and we’re also good. Posto drinks were very tasty.
Food is always delicious. Server this time was outstanding!
Loud music, inattentive waitstaff
Always never a dull moment on your palette. This is one of my TOP restaurants in the DC/NOVA area.
Really great food and vibe and perfect place for a gathering -- lots of table size and shape options and the shareable plates make it fun!
I loved the food, the place everything, We will come again
