We’d been trying to dine at this restaurant for some time and finally managed it. The menu looked good but the food was even better than the description. Well cooked, lovely flavours and very good portions for sharing. There was also a decent amount of room between tables, which you don’t always find. Having now been once we’ll definitely be going again. Only downside is it’s not open at the weekend which rules out pre theatre dining on a Saturday.
Lovely service and looking restaurant, food was very lack luster and over herby plus the value is not very good I mean £4 for a water you mad there isn't a drought but like I said service was fast and flawless shame about the food.
As always the Chinese Cricket Club is a real treat :-) the food & service is excellent.
Our waiter was attentive and even helped us pick the right thing in order to get the best value when using a tastecard
New Years Eve
Not good value for price, Cold food, lamb was like rubber, chicken was good, not much choice for vegetarians, maybe because we came at 8.45? OK it was Xmas day, however Extremly dissapointed, !
The staffs and the manager were extremely rude. The food was cold and unappetizing. Very bad experience. Would give 0 star if I could
A nice venue for Christmas Day lunch. The buffet had lots of tasty choices for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike. Good service and a relaxed ambience. Very good value at £45 per head, which is why we chose it. We were not disappointed.
Food was really good made a nice change to find a Chinese restaurant in the centre of town that was really good
Very tasty but tiny portions and needs updated decor
Great food, excellent service
Very tasty Chinese fare, and reliably so. A nice mix of dishes - quite authentic also (having lived in China). Service slightly haphazard but it doesn’t detract. And nice that it’s Chinese people who serve
We were in London, and met up with your daughter for a Lunch. The menu looked good and we were all looking forward to it. Our daughter is vegetarian, so we thought this would be OK, but there wasn’t a veggie set menu. The food was OK but not as good as we have had elsewhere. No of the dishes was inedible (chilli beef, which was rock hard strips of gooey beef that was impossible to eat), with mentioned this to the waitress, who just said she would ‘mention’ it to the chef! Probably won’t go there again.
6 of us enjoyed the 7-course tasting menu.
Really really tasty and well-prepared. Good value too.
To be recommended.
Delicious food and friendly helpful service made this a great experience. Highly recommend for a great lunch with friends.
Great service from excellent staff and the food was awesome.
Good food, great service, fun atmosphere and a decent wine list
Having visited Chinese Cricket Club previously I recommended that my friends and I went here for dinner (especially as it is also on Tastecard).
Unfortunately the menu was not as extensive as I remembered especially for my friend who was vegetarian.
She was told to order one of the 'from the soil' options as her main - she opted for the broccoli -but this was literally just broccoli on a plate and by no means was it a main.
The manager was happy to switch this for a tofu dish which wasn't obviously vegetarian on the menu as it didn't have VG written next to it so wasn't an option initially- this was definitely more like a main and we are thankful to the restaurant for switching this.
We were also a little disappointed at the size of the salmon which came with no sides/rice/noodles and was £18 just for a salmon fillet in sauce... Seems a bit deer.
The venue itself was lovely, the staff really friendly and attentive - so overall we did have a great time there I just think that given how many people are vegetarian and vegan today the menu definitely needs updating.
Interesting wine collection using only wines from sportspeople like Graham Gooch and Jimmy Anderson (both cricketers). The restaurant is in a nice hotel but the views were basically of a busy road intersection. The food was good quality but pricey for what it was. Very attentive service.
Had the Christmas 9 course menu. Great food, great service. can be used for pleasure or business meeting.
Great food, excellent service and fair value for money
A nice place to have dinner
Good food quality, glad to find a Huaiyang specialty cuisine restaurant in London.
Excellent food and service - would recommend for large business lunch/dinners
One for tourists and office parties. Incredibly bland food in a weird corporate like setting. TBH the alarm bells should have rung when I saw a premium rate number on the website for booking. The set menu was £35 to include Peking duck which they couldn't even be bothered to shred - it was sliced with a knife. Won;t be returning
Fabulous food and service was excellent
We just booked at the last minute for 12 people and they were so accommodating. The service was very good. The food was excellent and being a vegetarian they had fairly good choices. The staff were very friendly and very forthcoming. Had a fantastic evening. Would definitely recommend this friendly restaurant.
Great quality menu and such friendly staff
High quality food. Small portions. Great menu
Excellent meal and service
A nice restaurant in a hotel, we chose it because it was a different menu to a typical chinese but with some of the old favourites It was for a birthday celebration
I requested a round table and was told I had to guarantee a minimum spend - seems odd we were assigned the table in any case as I queried it as it wasn't in a private area!
The service was good and the manager and waitress were good with recommendations etc
It is a nice environment and dish are delicious. The shanghaiese style king prawn taste really nice and will recommend friends to this restaurant.
Four of us had set menu. the portion seemed smaller than used to be. food is still good
This was our fourth visit over a three years and the standard has been consistently good.
Excellent scallops and salt & pepper squid this time
Look forward to our next visit in a few months
A very nice venue to meet friends or business acquaintances for dinner
Excellent dim sum and fantastic duck. Would also recommend the beef and spring onion dish. The service is great as well.
Great quality food and fantastic service.
Service outstanding on a quiet midweek visit. Dim Sum starters all lovely and the duck pancakes just right, the pancakes stay intact. Will return.
Always excellent food, friendly staff and excellent service.
