Great food. Great service
Great evening! Thank you. Xx
It was for my birthday and we had a fantastic table, fantastic server and were made to feel very special!! Exceptional service!!
I would definitely recommend going here the steaks and sides are really good
One of the best steaks I have ever had! Will definitely be going back
Stuck on bar style stools,I’m a bit old for that, short notice so can’t really complain!
Friends visiting from England were so impressed with the steak and food in general-everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. Vegetarian dish was also very good, although expensive given the ingredients.
Visited on Saturday 29/02/20
Great service from start to finish.
Food was lovely
Went for lunch with my mum. The chicken mango salad that she had looked good. The chicken had a nice spice to it but could have been better complimented with thicker slices of mango. My sourdough steak sandwich tasted more of burnt onion and tarragon than I would have liked. It seemed the sourdough was covered in tarragon oil and I would've liked the taste of bone marrow sauce to come through more. The fries are way too thin and pre salted. The dish has roomfor improvement as aniseed is a strong flavour and overpowered the steak. As for comfort the tables were a bit high for my mum and the lack of diners led to quite a bland experience. Dinner would be overpriced here for me as the details could have been better. Doubt I'll return.
First time at Chop House and throughly enjoyed it, absolutely outstanding food, steaks were done to perfection and that bone marrow gravy......WOW!!! Starters were just as good, cocktails and dessert also.
Only thing that could've made this visit more enjoyable was if the heating was switched up a notch, stopped us enjoying more cocktails after the meal.
Overall, food and service were brilliant, definitely be back again but please turn the heating up when we do.
Sirloin Steaks were cooked as requested MR but seemed dry and both had gristle
From the service to our food everything was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Really good service and very friendly staff
We all had a lovely time last night at the chophouse. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the food was amazing too. The waiting staff were great all night
Was disappointed with my steak. My husband and I both had rump. His was lovely but mine was very chewy and had a sinew running through it. Such a shame as I had heard such good reviews and was left underwhelmed.
Food was amazing
Staff were amazing
Would defo recommend if you like a steak
Wasn,t the cheapest but definately worth it
Fabulous Sunday lunch.
Excellent service as always.
Food quality 10/10. Cooked to perfection. By far mine and my hubby’s favourite place to eat! Thank you for another great night of dining, we are always excited to return.
This is an excellent restaurant. Really well fitted out giving the place a really good feel. Not too fussy but not too casual either. The food and service were spot on.
Weekend lunch prior to going to Murrayfield for the rugby.
Great venue, service was spot on, food was superb and great value. Recommend the "Scotch Egg" starter a Scottish classic taken to a new level!!
Nice food, quiet surroundings, clean establishment!
Excellent food but service was very slow. Over an hour to get starters then another 45 mins for mains.
Overpriced steak disappointed
A very nice dinner. Will come back and will recommend for treats
The food we had was lovely however it was disappointing on a Saturday night they had no lobster and most of the sharing steaks. For the money you are paying you would expect the full menu to be available.
Still the best restaurant in Edinburgh. Never disappointed and always get the best food, service and drinks. A must visit for everyone
Overpriced. The meal was ok, but just ok. Wouldn’t rush back.
Restaurant is way to small. Also had it booked in advance and got sat right next to the door people walking in and out next to us while we ate our dinner. The table for all our food and drinks was just way to small for what we wanted to order. Apart from that the food and the service was brilliant.
Great steaks, onion rings are a must great service will be back.
Excellent service, the girl who served us was very friendly, accommodating and pleasant ! The quality of the food is remarkable ! The ambiance was also very pleasant
We have been before and had a fantastic time . Food was great the last time. This time food was over cooked and chewy. Staff very good
We had another superb evening at the chop house great service and really delicious food, first class.
We ordered two rump steaks medium rare. We didn’t enjoy them I’m afraid. They were very chewy with tendon. After eating half of it, my husband gave up as his jaw hurts. The bar stool seats were very uncomfortable for small people like us. The service was really good though. Both the manageress and the waitress were very attentive and friendly. The online booking process was easy enough. For the price we paid, we think there’re plenty better options nearby. Therefore we wouldn’t recommend the Chop House in Bruntsfield.
Food and service were both brilliant
The atmosphere was relaxed and the music playlist was superb.
The service was disappointing - we were charged for a birthday 'treat' of vanilla ice cream and told after we had ordered and started drinking that the wine we had chosen was not available.
Our steaks were tasty and perfectly cooked.
First time visit at lunchtime having been at the restaurant on a number of occasions in the evening. Much quieter however still a good atmosphere. As always the food was excellent and great value for money. Definitely recommend.
Normally I would but not after the last visit where the steak was appalling. We asked for median rare chateaubriand and it was dry and overcooked. The chips were soggy and not crispy at all
Frequent customer at all the Chop Houses and this experience was very disappointing, all 4 main courses had to be sent home back as the steak & chips where cold. To be presented back with the same steaks heated up and fresh chips. Then to top it all off a large glass of warm Pinot. The restaurant only had 3 tables of diners the place was quiet, I’m not surprised with this poor service. Extremely disappointed.
Lovely evening with great food, very relaxed atmosphere and friendly attentive, happy staff 😀
Table for 2 was a little small. Gentleman sitting behind me took up a lot of the chair space and I was unable to move table further away for me to sit comfortably.
