Great way to start Christmas. Had / shared chateaubriand which was excellent.
Lovely meal and great service just wish they would at least give you some sort off side so you don’t have to buy at least 4 sides the chips should be included Or even a salad Would do
Delicious food - everything well prepared and well seasoned. The prawn starter was a stand out.
Good covid measures in place, friendly and attentive staff. We will definitely be back.
Steaks very poor quality. Cooked well but difficult to chew. Monkfish and burger were good
We went to Chop House on Sunday for our sons 21st, we were allocated a lovely table for 5 downstairs, and food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. We will definitely go back..
Great food - recommend the Sunday Roast which is a very healthy portion
Amazing meat, delicious drinks (even though they were booze free), lovely people.
Lovely sunday lunch - we both had the Sunday Roast and the beef was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back & we hope to bring the dog next time after a walk in The Meadows.
Staff were friendly and provided a great service. It was nice to have background music again!
Food excellent best steak l have had in a long time the place overall is excellent
Fantastic! The best prawns I have ever had for starter
Fabulous meal will be back and making my way round all your locations
Had an excellent brunch. Staff friendly and felt very Covid safe.
Weather was dreadful and restaurant nearly empty . First course was excellent. Steak was very disappointing. Staff were very attentive. Steaks were too large and smaller was not an option given.
It was a great meal and very well organised. I would have liked a few more roast potatoes.
Our server was lovely and made us feel right at home,Covid protocols and spacing was well applied and the steaks where delicious.
Lovely Sunday roast. Good service girls could not be more helpful and checked at we did not need anything at good times.
good food well prepared and served in difficult times
Great brunch and delicious Virgin Mary - felt safe and spacious
Brilliant. The staff were lovely, food amazing and super for children. Husband says the steak burn was magnificent v
Amazing Food, Service and felt so safe in these difficult times.
Brilliant steak with fantastic staff. Highly recommend.
Food was great, servers were friendly and helpful. It was great being served food I didn't have to cook myself!
Great place we were going to be sitting at door but waiter gave us better table as glad he did as would have been cold at door table food was outstanding
Staff are really helpful and friendly, Great atmosphere, and food was great too.
if I could recommend one thing it would be to offer a small dish of warm water to clean your fingers after eating chicken wings as this can be a bit messy.
Not up to previous standards - had a porterhouse steak that was not brilliant- too much fat and gristle. But waitress was good and wine excellent.
Food great. Staff cheerful and helpful. Struggled with the high seating. Our seat was in an area next to stairs, end of bar and dumb waiter so a lot of people passed us which made us feel a bit nervous (Covid) plus it was a bit disruptive to the overall enjoyment of our meal. Maybe just put this table out of action or ask if diners mind being seated there. Overall very good though.
We booked a family meal and showed up for booking and got seated. The service staff were polite but we were reminded a few times about our time slot and felt slightly rushed. The food was well presented and tasted good. We just felt a little pushed to be quick. The bill was £199 as well which seemed a tad overpriced for the food we got. None the less what we got was tasty and you pay for what you get. We would return but most likely out of lock down so we could really enjoy our meal.
Great steaks, super staff & a brilliant Bloody Mary!
The sourdough steak sandwich was fatty and overly chewy and half was left on the plate. The burger, once cut in half collapsed making it awkward to eat and both burgers buns were a little burnt unfortunately.
Good steak, good service, not cheap but you get what you pay for with meats. Interesting sides good choice of beer and wine, wont hesitate to go back again.
We are in a time of COVID restriction where you are only allowed to go out with one other household, yet chophouse think it’s ok to let 8 men from 8 Households dine across 2 tables. If you want COVID and an average steak and an expensive bill, go here.
i booked on line and found a table foe 8.30 wondered if this was enough time due to 10pm lock down looked at web page that said 10.30 so thought this would be fine arrive about 25 past 8 at restaurant was kept waiting at bar as previous people had not left mentioned to bar man who then informed us that it was 10pm. eventually sat down at table 20 to nine order taken for meal about nine all good, about 10 to 10 asked if we wanted a quick coffee as they were about to shut no sweet etc kitchen closed.
when i mentioned about not being happy about about being rushed the person who served us said it not us it the law that we close at 10pm.
i explained that i was not stupid but they either needed to change there times on the web sight to say close at 10pm and to stop taking bookings after 8pm to allow ample time for people to complete there meal. felt very patronized by both bar man and staff member.
i had also sent a request asking if the restaurant could either supply a small cake for persons who sixtieth birthday it was or bring one along never heard anything back.
on a positive not everyone who had steak remarked on how tasty they were and i myself very much enjoyed the burger. starter also very tasty, no issue with food. but over all experience was greatly dampened by the rush to get us fed.
the next question asks about recommending to friend, i would but only under current circumstances they booked before 7.30
The meal was lovely and food was delicious, the service was excellent and really attentive
Great food and service but without the eat out to help out discount it would be quite expensive at £29 for a ribeye steak, even though it was delicious. Fine for special occasions but not every week.
Previously really enjoyed eating at Chop House but on this occasion quite a few things went wrong. Firstly, the steak was not cooked correctly. My partner asked for Medium and it arrived Rare. Along with this, we ordered peppercorn sauce, and what arrived was definitely gravy. I’ve previously had the peppercorn sauce and can definitely say it was gravy. The sticky toffee pudding was just warm. Pudding was given for free as steak was very undercooked.
Incredible service and some of the best food I have had!
Thanks so much!
Andy and Lloyd 😊👍
Excellent food and amazing cocktails, service was brilliant too
Great food, fresh oysters and sirloin was delish!
HOWEVER, we were forced to leave the table after 1h15min to move to the bar and were thrown out after 15 min at the bar. They said it is coronavirus measure, but we were the only one thrown out. Booking was for 2h. Or at least so was i told on the web: "2 hours for tables of 1-4 people, 2.5 hours for tables of 5-7 people & 3 hours for 8+ people. "
So a nice, but way too rushed experience.
Very good service, good food but quite expensive for me and my partner over £120.
