Great lunch with a super tasty bloody Mary to start and an exceptional fillet steak for my main course.

Good staff and a great bottle of wine I may have to go back to try some more options.

We had a fantastic evening. Service, good wine was all top notch. Only moan I’ve got is when I booked via the Open Table app, I asked to be seated upstairs, but ended I having a table downstairs. The annoying thing about that is another group arrived 20 mins later and were given an upstairs table as the one that had reserved was too draughty!

Makes me wonder if they actually pay any attention to the special requests pay of the Open Table app.

We went there for an anniversary meal.
We sat down, but immediately had the special sharing platter shoved down our neck.
It came to ordering, we both ordered individual meals, but yet again, was told the sharing platter would cost the same.
It actually didn't, it was £14 dearer.
I like medium rare, my girlfriend likes medium to well done, so compromised on medium. It wasn't medium. It was too rare for my liking.
The chips were crap. No salad or garnish. Pots of sauce too small. For £88 was a complete rip off. Wouldn't eat there if you paid me.

My partner and I are at Chop House on Saturday night. The decor of the restaurant was lovely and the staff were helpful and friendly. The chateaubriand which we ordered was delicious and the sides were great too (a fabulous selection to chose from). Overall our experience was excellent and we would definitely return to eat at Chop House again.

Food was excellent as was service. Blonde waitress who served us provided several wine recommendations which turned out to be great. All staff were very helpful and chatty. Food came quick. Only drawback is the seats, you can feel the vibrations when people move or walk up stair above. Apart from that everything else was fantastic, would go back in an instant and recommend to a friend.

Where to start, this place is incredible, from the food to the service everything was great. Scallops starters are a must, they were worth the trip alone. Also not forgetting the steak, such good flavour and cooked perfectly. Would recommend a visit and also believe they’ve started a great lunch deal with hanger steak too. Will be returning next time in Edinburgh!
Thank you to all the staff at Chop House, Market Street on our visit.

We were recommended this restaurant and travelled from afar. We were not disappointed, the food, service and ambiance was superb. We were still talking about the lovely food the next day and would have returned had we of been staying in the city longer. 10 out of 10 if you are in the city this is a must visit.

Looking forward to our meal. Arrived, and surprisingly the downstairs was empty. We were advised that our table was not quite ready - not a problem - sat in the bar area and after a couple of minutes were told our table was ready. Taken upstairs and the restaurant was completely empty!! We opted for a range of starters, as all sounded appetizing. Highlight were the scallops (although I think it was streaky bacon rather than pig cheek as advertised) and the squid although again had to ask for it to be reheated - they actually gave us a fresh order. Disappointed with the straw fries - not crispy and rather greasy. Overall an average meal experience.

One of the best steaks I have had and it was perfectly cooked. Great choice of sides (would recommend the Mac n Cheese) and the cocktails were awesome.

The woman serving us was not the most pleasant but she was maybe just having a bad night.

Overall, would recommend giving this a go if you dance a premium steak.

Steaks were expensive but tasty - but not to serve with anything at all so you have to buy sides is cheeky

Really enjoy the food at the chop house, but again the service in the market street site was very disappointing. The waitress was rude and made the whole experience seem like an convenience. This was topped off by the fact she hadn’t put any of the sides through on our order so we were left with only a steak for 5 mins while we waited for a rushed order for the sides.

Will dine again with the chop house but at the Leith or Bruntsfield sites.

Tuna steak was very good. Rump steak very tough I clearly made the wrong choice. Restaurant was quiet and there was a lot of staff but the service wasn’t great, friendly lady who welcomed us on arrival, but after that the service was frosty with one male employee walking away from the table while I was still speaking.

Food was good and service very polite and efficient.
One major downside is the wine list has no prices and we were not advised of price when discussing our choice.
To then be charged £50 for what turned out to bea wine no better than an £8 supermarket rioja was nothing less than extortion.
It was our 35th anniversary so we didn't make a fuss, but we won't be back.
Kyloe will be our choice again next time.
Much better value for money.
