One of the best Sunday lunches in Leeds and great value
Great Sunday dinner. Unfortunately had to leave early due to my sick Daughter, so would’ve loved a dessert. Maybe next time
Great food, terrible service.
A bottle of wine that we didn’t order (£62) was added to the bill and when we pointed out the error we were treated rudely and told to prove we didn’t have it.
Front of house staff seemed inexperienced and not up to par for the quality of service needed to match the prices or the food.
Steak was cool whilst everything else was hot (as expected).
Lovely atmosphere and view of the park. Would def hi again but would always want to sit upstairs
Great location and building, meat eaters paradise, food excellent, service excellent, bank account a lot lighter but we knew it would be. Definitely recommend it to everyone except if your like my partner a vegetarian .
Initial welcoming good
Initial table service good
Became very slow when requesting the bill and slow to bring card machine
Crackling was poor but looked amazing
Will visit again for main menu
The food was good, however it was hard to get a customer service. My drink took a while and came after my food. No one came to check if the food was ok as per usual in other restaurants.
I mentioned on my booking it was a birthday celebration and I also mentioned it to the manager I believe when we entered the establishment, but nothing special appeared at our table so a little disappointed at the this. Service was a little slow and there was a bit of a wait before someone came to take drink/food orders.
Beautiful food, amazing service and an astonishing atmosphere. I recommend!
Even though the place is quite pricey, the food, wine, service and atmosphere were worth it, perfect experience when celebrating my 45th birthday
This place is amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food gorgeous
Overpriced underwhelming food. Was a shame as the atmosphere was lovely. Staff in some need of serious training.
food quality and refinement not adequate for the price. expectations were greater. Nice service and that's it. waiters got lost in the order. It was very loud. all this meant that the evening, which was to be a gift and a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday, was a big failure.
First impression outside was that everything needs a good sweep up.
3 out of 4 ordered prawn cocktail to start at £9.50 very poor value, there were 5 prawns hung off the edge of the glass, the rest was all lettuce etc and sauce.
The sunday lunch was ok 3 x belly pork and 1 x beef, both meats were tender, big yorkshires, nice veg, gravy a bit thick, portion size would satisfy most appetites.
Didnt order deserts.
Sat downstairs where noise levels from fans background music was excessive in our view.
10% service charge added which we deleted, we always leave a tip but like it to be our decision not theirs.
Not saying wecwouldnt go back but will not be rushing
Fabulous Sunday lunch! Great service & wine list
Firstly we found no soft drinks on the menu, considering my partner was driving. When I asked the waitress she just pointed at the cocktails, hmmm.
The food was good but the courses were slow. The waitresses would just come over and ask if you were ok, and when asked were the mains were just smiled…
When presented with the bill we found it to be expensive when compared to the likes of Amici and San Carlo.
Will not be returning or recommending.
Lovely food just not happy service charge is automatically added
Overall the experience was ok. The food took quite a long time between courses. The prawn cocktail was really vinegary and the porterhouse wasn’t cooked to request at all which was a real shame. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly but we did feel that they were hovering a bit too much towards the end while we were still finishing off. A bit pricey for a very overcooked steak.
The highlight of the meal was the sushi. It was really lovely and fresh and the presentation was beautiful.
Food was great, service not great sadly. It wasn’t overly busy but we had to ask for drinks / coffee several times. Orders which we had asked about came wrong - not as had been explained to us.
Lovely and warm and quiet on the top floor, great food and really friendly service
disappointing experience at chophaus. We’d been once before in June and had a great meal but things seem to have gone downhill!
As I’m 8 months pregnant, unfortunately I can’t have bloody meat at the moment. Last time the waiter was really helpful and suggested that we shared a porterhouse but after they slice the meat off the bone (which they do as standard), they put half of it back on the grill to finish it off. It was delicious, and the way they did it meant my ‘well done’ half wasn’t at all dry!
We came back for our anniversary today and asked the waiter if we could have the same. We were told that we couldn’t because it would take the chef too long and he was ‘too busy’. If it was heaving I might have sympathised but honestly the place was so empty there couldn’t have been more than 10% of tables full. And does it really take that much effort to put some meat back on the grill for 5 mins when you’re paying 85 quid for it?
After deliberating for a while if we should just leave and go somewhere else where the staff weren’t so rude and disinterested we ended up staying and having something else. Food was not bad but not great.
Service continued to be bizarre; someone came over and told me that I couldn’t have a Rioja (clearly didn’t order a Rioja)... 4 different people asked us if our meal was ok... waiter perplexed when I asked to switch the ice cream on the menu for one that wasn’t alcoholic....
In conclusion, seems you have to take what you get ... which I might understand if I wasn’t paying at least 50quid per head !
First initial order was hard work as they didn’t know the menu, however it was a nee member of staff so bound to happen. Overall it was fantastic
Family Birthday celebrations
Great Sunday roast we have been a few times and great every time. Good value, great service and amazing food.
Beautiful restaurant, we were seated in one if the balcony 'rooms' outside/inside with a very efficient heater, nice views and almost felt like private dining.
The food was fabulous, the only small criticism would be a touch too much salt on the fries and in the sauce.
Unfortunately the service lev the evening down, really down at first, wine didn't arrive until after our starters had finished, even after we chased it several times, then the wrong wine was brought. The manager dealt with this very well and took the wine off the bill, he explained there were several new staff members and after this the service did improve. Definitely worth a visit, food was amazing.
Steaks were not cooked very well, asked for medium rare came more like well done another was asked to come well done and came rare. Glad to see the Mac and cheese back but it was like doing the cinnamon challenge with all the dust stuff on top. Had to wait ages for everything and was very expensive for stuff that wasn’t cooked great. Some sides should be included in the meal as it was so expensive for what you got and there should be an option to tip and the service charge should not be included
Amazing service! The food was amazing. Would absolutely recommend
Absolutely the best Sunday dinner I have ever had and can’t wait to go again
The fillet steak was excellent. Although the scallop starter was tasty there didn’t appear to be a flavour of nduja as mentioned on the menu. I’m not sure whether there was a staff shortage but it was very difficult to get our drinks in any kind of acceptable time frame on more than one occasion or without repeatedly asking. Some waiting staff were a little abrupt although it’s fair to say this wasn’t all staff who served us.
Lovely surroundings, but on a quiet night it was disappointing to be ignored by a large number of waiting staff.
Had an amazing table in arches.
Ordered Chateaubriand for £70 I would have expected more than 4 small slices of meat each.
The service was excellent. I think I'd go again but perhaps try to make a better menu choices.
Over priced, scallop starter £12.50 for two scallops, frozen beef burgers £15 .very poor
Our other dishes were lovely
Excellent food, amazing steak. Great service and lovely setting. Will definitely be returning.
Our first time visiting Chophaus. Had such a fantastic evening. Great food and service. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely cracking food. 3 courses and not one of us had a bad word to say. Especially impressed with the cauliflower starter ( vegan option ) my mum ordered this and we all tucked in to it . Will defiantly be ordering that next time. Steak was on point and cooked to perfection. Puddings were delicious. Definitely going again . Good ambience and funky vibe . Thanks for a lovely meal and evening
Great food but incrediably slow service, 1hr 30mins till our main course
Stunning food, great service and beautiful building
Disappointing. Had been looking forward to eating here for ages, but definitely underwhelmed
We had a lovely dining experience. Our only criticism is that the food could have been hotter and the plates larger for the amount of food on them.
