Absolutely the best Sunday dinner I have ever had and can’t wait to go again
The fillet steak was excellent. Although the scallop starter was tasty there didn’t appear to be a flavour of nduja as mentioned on the menu. I’m not sure whether there was a staff shortage but it was very difficult to get our drinks in any kind of acceptable time frame on more than one occasion or without repeatedly asking. Some waiting staff were a little abrupt although it’s fair to say this wasn’t all staff who served us.
Lovely surroundings, but on a quiet night it was disappointing to be ignored by a large number of waiting staff.
Had an amazing table in arches.
Ordered Chateaubriand for £70 I would have expected more than 4 small slices of meat each.
The service was excellent. I think I'd go again but perhaps try to make a better menu choices.
Over priced, scallop starter £12.50 for two scallops, frozen beef burgers £15 .very poor
Our other dishes were lovely
Excellent food, amazing steak. Great service and lovely setting. Will definitely be returning.
Our first time visiting Chophaus. Had such a fantastic evening. Great food and service. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely cracking food. 3 courses and not one of us had a bad word to say. Especially impressed with the cauliflower starter ( vegan option ) my mum ordered this and we all tucked in to it . Will defiantly be ordering that next time. Steak was on point and cooked to perfection. Puddings were delicious. Definitely going again . Good ambience and funky vibe . Thanks for a lovely meal and evening
Great food but incrediably slow service, 1hr 30mins till our main course
Stunning food, great service and beautiful building
Disappointing. Had been looking forward to eating here for ages, but definitely underwhelmed
We had a lovely dining experience. Our only criticism is that the food could have been hotter and the plates larger for the amount of food on them.
Table location and initial service was good. However, we could have done with a few more vegetables with dinner - I only got one carrot and one parsnip. Then, after the mains were served service tailed off; we waited a bit for them to clear the table and when asked said we’d like to see the dessert menu but after waiting at least 10 minutes with no dessert menu forthcoming we just asked for the bill.
When we arrived (on time) we were told our table wasn’t ready, despite having made the booking 6 days before - we were sat in a ‘holding area’ and told someone would take drinks orders. We sat for 15 minutes being ignored by staff, who were clearly overstretched - a simple explanation of this would have been enough to placate us.
When we were sat at our table (having not had a drinks order taken) it was another 15 minutes before anyone came to attend us - this was only after a member of our party had to go and find a member of staff. Only when we were ordering our food were we then told that they had no sirloin steak - a main part of their menu given they’re a steakhouse. It was also only at this point that our drinks order was taken and water brought to the table - 45 minutes after arriving.
Some of our party found the guacamole and cracker appetisers disappointing - stale and greasy crackers with a bland guacamole. The croquettas were delicious.
When the mains arrived we were happy with what we got - the quality of the steak was good, and was cooked to all our likings.
When it came to paying the bill, we were still waiting 20 minutes after turning down any desserts before one of us, again, had to find a member of staff to ask for the bill.
When asked for feedback by our waiter, we explained that better communication and guest service would have made the waiting around and being ignored slightly more acceptable. This was not received well by the waiter, who became very defensive and dismissive - didn’t make for a great end to an already disappointing experience.
We won’t be returning here, and will actively recommend against others attending.
(Mostly) good food, let down by terrible service.
We had another lovely meal. The prices may seem expensive for out of town but the the quality of the steaks is apparent.
A nice ambiance. It's nice to sit in a restaurant with atmosphere but where it is not too loud to talk to your guests.
Only ever had the steaks, but I would definitely recommend.
Food is great. Amazing vegetarian and vegan options, don't let the name fool you. Beautiful building, set up really well, caters inside and outside for those who are feeling more unsure re covid and dining out. Cocktails are gorgeous too. Service was spot on, not too much, yet attentive. I would highly recommend.
Service a bit slow to begin with regarding taking drinks order but fine after that.
There was four of us, ordering different cuts of meat and all cooked to different taste.
All the meals arrived at the same time , all where hot and cooked perfectly.
Due to the cost would not go back on a regular bases, but would definitely go again for a special night out.
Food etc great and nice staff but not at all attentive which really let the whole experience down. The man that brought our bill didn’t ask how the meal was etc. We weren’t offered the drinks menus and we had to get the attention of the staff every time we wanted to order, they didn’t clean our table in between courses.
Not sure I’d go back. Shame as the food was nice.
Excellent food, great environment, very enjoyable evening out.
Lovely steak but very overpriced.
Nice place, staff friendly and helpful, had to wait a bit for the meal but excellent when it came. Access good to bar area but restaurant upstairs. Public car park outside (free) with 2 disabled spaces. Could be damaging to your wealth if you're cost concerned so check the menu and prices before booking. We had 2 fillet steaks, fries and a sauce, 2 glasses of wine and it was over £80.00. Having said that the steaks were worth every penny and cooked to perfection, they were high quality and the chef clearly knows his trade.
If you're looking for quality food, excellently cooked, served well and have a few quid in your wallet then I recommend you give Chophaus a try.
Possibly the best steaks in Leeds! Fabulous food, terrific service & lovely atmosphere. Perfect place for a special occasion or just for a treat.
Good ambiance, in a striking building. Very attentive service throughout. Excellent food.
Celebrated my birthday and got a chees ame
Food was good. Really enjoyed the starter and the Sunday roast. Had the sirloin sunday roast for £17.95. The steak was available for £30 and £80. The service could have been better. Although it was relatively quite, when we asked to be sitted else where, the staff were reluctant to have us sit where we asked. We ended up sitting very close to a couple whilst there were empty tables opposite. Where we asked to sit. The tables were clean and there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Personally I don’t think I will go again because of the service and price but overall it is worth visiting for the atmosphere, the food - if cost is not a big deal (likely £45 per person with drinks, starters and/or desert)
Great service and delicious Sunday roast. Definition coming again!
Excellent roast dinner! Lovely starters desserts slightly disappointing but overall excellent would definitely itely recommend
The food was excellent, particularly the steaks. Wine was reasonably priced however the starters were expensive and I would say not good value for money. Service was friendly and police but a bit sporadic, we waited a long time to be given menus then approached for our order about 2 minutes later. Meals came in good time but not given any cutlery. Over all though we thought the venue was good, enjoyed and meal and we would definitely return for a special occasion meal.
Stunning food, efficient and knowledgable service, and a great atmosphere. Whilst expensive, it is undoubtedly worth it!
Great food & service! Will definitely go back again!
A gorgeous lunch with fantastic service in a very pleasant setting. The steak was cooked perfectly. I’m tact we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered.
Service was very poor, we had to wait 10 minutes before getting a menu and water. We had to ask for the menu in the end. Then we had to ask if we could order. The food was average, nothing special. We had to wait a long time for the main. Staff said it was because they were under staffed, if this was the case you shouldn’t be able to book the table. One of the waiters looked awful, came across as if he didn’t want to be there. His appearance was bad and scruffy. The couple on the table next to us said he looked like he was going to kill someone, they had the same experience as us. I wouldn’t go back.
The food was nice but the service wasn’t excellent.
Lovely food, service getting there but welcome great.
Outstanding food, very nice place to eat !
The food was lovely however there were slight issues. The truffle vernalise had no truffle in it. The Mac and cheese was bland and the baby chicken although delicious, didn’t seem to fit the establishment. There’s no way you could eat it with and knife and fork and my partner didn’t feel comfortable picking it up with her hands and sucking the meat from the bone in such a high end fancy restaurant. My steak was delicious even if it was slightly over cooked. The wine was fantastic and so were the staff. I just think there was an air of laziness on the kitchen staffs part.
My partner had been wanting to try Chophaus for a while so we decided to go for a Sunday afternoon there for some food and drinks, even though it’s an hour drive from us
The place is set back from the road in a very good looking building that stands out from the crowd
We were booked in at 1630 but arrived early as we wanted to see if we could possibly have a couple of drinks first
After a very warm welcome, we got told it was no problem at all to move out booking forward and were sat down before being seen to order
Everyone one of the staff were very happy to speak to, talk with and couldn’t have been more helpful. Also, all were dressed immaculately
Drinks came and they were top tier, this can also be said for the food as well.
Nothing but good things to say about this place and will be coming back for sure without a doubt
Thanks for having us
Absolutely amazing Sunday dinner, lovely setting and excellent service.
We dined here on a Friday night and ordered two starters and two main meals. For starters we ordered 1x Sauteed Prawns and 1x Grilled Scallops. Both were £12.50 each. When the starters arrived, the prawn dish was 5 big juicy prawns which were very tasty, the scallop dish was one medium sized scallop. Yes, one scallop. Which was luke warm at best and tasted of nothing. The garnish accompanying it was practically non existent. We decided not to spoil our meal by complaining at the time and to leave it till the end of the meal, but as the menu stated "scallops" (pleural) its not unreasonable to expect at least two!
For mains we ordered a fillet steak and a ribeye steak. Both were £32 each. The ribeye was a grisley which ribeye can be, but nicely cooked, tender and tasty. The fillet was a good size nicely cooked but absolutely no flavour whatsoever. Not what you expect from a restaurant that specialises in steak.
The staff were pleasant enough and attentive but clearly new in post/in training and by the end of our meal we just wanted to leave.
We paid £132 (including the 10% service charge automatically added) for a sub-standard meal comprising of 2 starters and 2 mains, one soft drink, a bottle of water and a gin and tonic. Not good value for money and we would not recommend.
