Monday evening... so not full with customers. Very good service with friendly staff. It is a bit pricey but the food is of a high standard and the portions are adequate. Would have liked to have seen more choice in the dessert menu, but obviously that is not there thing or perhaps it is unnecessary in this weather. The ambience was good - you could hear yourself speak without having to raise your voice - which was a refreshing change. Adequate room between tables - which allows you to feel more comfortable.
All in all a really nice dining experience for a special occasion.
Would I go back -- YES .
Food was ok Ingredients really good
Hostess very attentive
Pizza Bianca with black truffle was the best
Delicious Italian food and great wine. Lovely decor. Friendly staff.
Good service and nice relaxed atmosphere but food was average and not good value for money
Beautiful garden setting, smiley and friendly service. Fabulous food and nice little extras thrown in before the meal and after such as radishes on ice, bite sized ice cream, nice touch!!!
Very poor pasta- stringy. Bolognese tasted like it was from a can. Place has no real Italian ambience. The pre-starter of olives, nuts and cheese was the best part of the dinner. I’ve never been so disappointed.
We had to wait a long time before receiving the food. A shame because everything else was perfect.
Wonderful ambience. Very chic in a relaxed way. Delicious food and incredibly attentive staff. Little extras like parmesan and walnuts and olives to start as well as mini ice cream bars for petit fours were beer welcome. Definitely will go back
Place where we go and come back . Outstanding service , great food .
Great food quality, good value for money, very nice decoration.
Nice spot in a quiet a pleasant area. Good food at an affordable price
Lovely setting and great for brunch or casual dinner. A bit tough with a pram as multi level with steps making it hard to exit if the kids are not quiet, but the staff was super helpful. I would go again, but without children.
Really nice - although we rushed a little as the manageress told us we’d have to vacate our garden table by 2.30. At 2.30 the restaurant and garden were not busy and we could have relaxed a little more.
Obscenely expensive for mediocre food in a dark basement with scatterbrained service
Great place. Beautiful terrace
The staff were simply terrific as was the food & service. Perfect :)
Food good. Nice waiters but SLOW. Very NOISY and expensive
We had a great evening, Chucs has such a wonderful atmosphere. We had a table of four, and could hear ourselves speak at normal conversation level which is so rare in London restaurants! Italian run and Italian food. All the classics, well executed. We also really appreciated the Italian design and wanted to buy everything from the red lacquered table top to the blue rimmed glasses and portable table light! A bottle of prosecco is £40 which is a bit steep, but during the week they do special offers / happy hour. We will be going back.
I have been to Chucs many times for lunch and dinner in their NH and Mayfair branches and it has always been a great experience. However this occasion was for breakfast which was very under whelming. The very small portion of smoked salmon and eggs came on one slice of regular white sliced loaf bread and I was still hungry after. Would recommend for lunch and dinner but their breakfast leaves a lot to be desired.
It’s a lovely place to socialise with a friend as it’s not too noisy and the menu offers various healthy options. A great lunch place for sure!
Service was painfully slow on a Sunday night. It took us more than 2 hours to have 2 courses. In between we were desperately trying to flag down different waiters for water and wine refills - and to ask if our food might be coming soon. We won’t be going back there.
Great cosy Italian, the service was very slow the starters were superb but mains were average
Writing this some time after dinner at Chucs, I can see the comedic value of the experience. It could have been a sketch from Fawlty Towers or La Cage au Folles. We went for the Sunday Roast and freebie bottle of Prosecco as advertised on Opentable only to be told that it had finished at 4pm (no time limit had been stipulated on the website) and that they'd 'run out' of Prosecco. We thought that perhaps we'd be offered at least a glass of house wine as a goodwill gesture - nope. We were then involuntarily moved to another table as a group of diners had arrived and one of them would 'feel sick' if they'd couldn't be seated where we were. We ordered a sirloin steak which took an hour to arrive. Requests for water took forever until being finally ignored. The steak was good, but the rest was a grisly pantomime.
one of my favorite restaurants in London.
Good Italian food
Really nice venue. Excellent food
Nice atmosphere, good food and delicious wine. Will happily return.
Wonderful Hostess and staff.
Food normally is amazing here! Tonight I ordered the zucchini fritto as one of my items to eat and it came in a pool of grease... which i did not realize until i was half way through and saw all the oil, on the bottom of the paper. So the zucchini went from grease fryer to plate flipped the basket onto the serving paper basket they were served in, without draining ~ at all!!!
I told my server, she told the kitchen. And they did nothing said nothing. Until i paid and I asked my server so did kitchen say anything about the oil pool of grease on my zucchini? She said oh, they said they are sorry. Should of immediately been taken off my bill, and without me asking the server was anything done? She should of come and told me issue was taken care of. I paid for my greasy dinner and left!! Sadly
The space is beautiful and cozy. We ordered a tagliatelle with prawns and it was without salt. The quality of the pasta was excellent, made at home.
Fabulous food and a vibrant atmosphere - definitely a new favourite. I will be back soon.
Overpriced and ran out of the main courses, nice ambience but for the same price there is better quality food
