Cicchetti - Covent Garden
Fantastic service superb menu
Thank you for your wonderful dining experience.
See you soon
The layout of the place is very odd and not cosy compare to FUMO and Cicchetti Piccadilly. The food is the same but you get the feeling of a cheap diner so in the future I will stick to FUMO and just had an extra walk to the theatre.
Excellent choice for pre-theatre and if you're dining before 6:30pm then ask for the special early evening menu. This allows two diners to choose four choices from a selection of the more moderately priced dishes and is much better value for money. Many dishes were delicious, particularly the sea bass which is prepared for you at the table. Always busy but service still efficient - highly recommended!
Everything was excellent, especially the pasta and the service
Our first visit. We thought the choice of food excellent as was the wine including quality white by the glass. Staff were attentive. Our only criticism was that all of the tapas menu was delivered too quickly.
Despite the numerous amount of waiters running around, the service is terrible. We had to ask for something 4 times. The managers with the ear pieces are useless but on a power trip. The food was average. Bread was hard and stale, eggplant parmigiana was really good, but the carbonara was so salty it was inedible. Best part of the meal was the gelato. I wouldn’t return.
Everything was excellent as always. Definitely one of my favourite places to go to in Covent Garden.
Great value with the set Fisso menu. We added some extras with cocktails and dessert but still good value. Very tasty food and attentive waiting staff.
The look both inside and outside is quite charming. We were taken to our table and then it was explained to us how the menu worked. Was somewhat surprised as we expected a relaxing birthday meal. Think Italian Tapas. The food was pleasant enough. However, we were not expecting to have to tolerate constant bickering between the floor managers. We were seated quite close to a til which was used for food ordering and the managers decided to congregate there whilst having a very vocal disagreement. We had to wait 25 mins to be asked about our deserts. We were quite close to the bar and the constant noise from the barman throwing glass bottles into the bin was also quite annoying. So all in all not the meal experience we were expecting.
Great find, great decoration and comfortable seating. Lovely food and great service. Was a bit noise but this was minimal compared to the great food and ambiance
They failed to wash the spinach before cooking meaning it was gritty to eat. They did not put any fat in it either meaning it was dry and stuck to the teeth, also the portion size was underwhelming given the £4.50 price tag. The saving grace of the evening was the scallops which were, admittedly, very nice,
2nd visit to this restaurant- and will definitely come back again.
Service better than average but food delicious. Good Italian tapas style food. We particularly enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara.
Only downside is that the drinks are very expensive
Delicious food. Attentive staff. Good atmosphere. Prices are good for the food and service you receive
Fantastic restaurant. Service and meal were faultless, the best meal we had in London during our trip. Highly recommend this place.
We had such an amazing time! Everyone was so welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious too. Definitely recommend it and will be back!
I have been to this restaurant before and the experience was fabulous. However, on this visit, which occurred in a very hot day, it was impossible to eat comfortably due to the very high temperature in the room. We complained several times, but the AC was not on. In addition, the food, which was superb on our first visit, was absolutely tasteless this time. We ended up giving up on ordering further dishes, given the combination of the heat and the not so great food
Considering we visited Cicchetti on the hottest day in July, the staff where so accommodating and made the experience brilliant.
Food was delicious. However, very poor service; forgot our drink order twice and our food order. And when asked again for it no apology was given. Dampened the whole evening.
Cannot fault at all. From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff were very attentive, the food was lovely and in my opinion well priced considering it's in Covent Garden. Would definitely go again.
Amazing italian tapas exceeded our expectations, staff warm and friendly.
We received a friendly welcome as we arrived and shown directly to our reserved table. The helpful waitress explained the menu choices and how we might go about selection of a number of dishes to eat 'Tapas' style. We ordered a reasonably priced bottle of wine and chose 4 dishes off the menu. Our waitress said if we wanted any additional food it could always be brought to us later. Our food was served in a leisurely manner. Clearly our waitress was being attentive. We had ordered the sea bass for which we were provided with clean plates. A thoughtful touch. We decided not to bother with an additional selection of mains but ordered desserts. We were left time afterwards to enjoy the remainder of our wine. All in all an excellent experience. Would definitely recommend
Air conditioning was not working
Kept waiting for our table and had to keep moving as nowhere to wait
Shown to the worst table
Managers eventually helped and sent a drink over
Had to wait a very long time for extra food ordered
Bread and olives were not brought out until the end of the meal. Two plates were forgotten and we had to ask twice to have them. We were at one end of the restaurant and it was not well serviced by staff there, we were not offered more drinks etc.
When the food came it was excellent. It was a shame the staff were inattentive and the some of the food was forgotten.
It was our first experience with Italian tapas and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was quite noisy but then it was a Friday evening just before show time so this was to be expected and did not put us off in the slightest and we will definitely visit againm
Excellent service without being intrusive and food was extremely tasty and satisfying. The decor was beautiful too, would definitely visit this restaurant again.
Cicchetti lived up to the expectation that an independent venue can outperform nearby chains with delicious and interesting menu options and individual service. It was pricey, but in keeping with the quality and location. We will certainly be back.
Night at the theatre
My lunch guest went to the wrong branch and was therefore nearly 30 minutes late but this did not phase the staff at all . When she arrived they were very considerate and gave her time to settle before coming to take our order. The food was as usual superb. Another enjoyable visit - it definitely won't be the last.
Pre-theatre birthday treat... and treat indeed it was! Finally, a gourmet Italian that goes way beyond the ordinary and delivers exclusive regional delicacies and outstanding service in a trendy yet intimate environment. Grazie Mille!
Always delightful at this wonderful italian restaurant. Love the shared plate type menu - means i can taste more dishes
Really like the sharing plates/tapas style. Baked sea bass in black salt is amazing.
On a par with Fumo, we found there were too many waiters rushing about in such a small, confined space. It was too busy for a relaxed meal!
Good advice from our waiter ref how many dishes to order. Fab food and wine.
Amazing food and wonderful authentic Italian service. Loved it will be back ASAP!!
We arrived at 5:45 in order to be on time for a 7:30 show. At first the service was ok. Our drinks were delivered in a timely fashion. As the restaurant got more crowded, the service deteriorated. We had to ask numerous times to have our water glasses refilled. The zucchini and calamari appetizer were so so. The veal Milanese was excellent. Tiramisu was poor. Napoleon dessert was good.
Very nice feeling of and good atmosphere. The only thing I couldn't give 5 stars is the service as it was a bit clunky
Best Italian anywhere since Milan
Very good fun - nice menu, prices fair, friendly staff . . . and lively!
Looked like a really good and interesting Italian restaurant. However, none of the dishes had any real taste. The concept of dishes being delivered to the table when ready from the kitchen didnt really work, as a traditional menu of antipaste, primi and secondi got mixed too much. All in all a bad experience.
