Really quite impressed with this restaurant. The concept is a little unusual for an Italian eatery (everything arrives whenever it is ready and you are encouraged to share) but it works because the food is both very good and reasonably priced (considering the location).
It’s lively, noisy and a bit tight, so perhaps not the spot for a romantic date or a discreet business conversation, but definitely a fun and authentic atmosphere.
Service was both attentive and quick and the wine list had plenty of options at different price points.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back myself.
Noise level almost unbearable. Could not hold a conversation. Waiter had never heard of Campari. Had to tell him to check with the bar. Food acceptable but no more. Would not come back.
Very authentic Italian cuisine. While good quality is superb, dish portion tends to be small.
Amazing food, staff and atmosphere. Definitely would go back for another occasion
Foods a bit salty and some not good presentation. portions can be a little bit more generous
Delayed service, huge space but overstuffed with close tables which makes the atmosphere very hectic
Friendly staff and a lovely variety to select from on the menu for a fraction of the price of other Italian restaurants in London.
One very loud table disrupted restaraunt for all - but despite that staff were amazing as ever and food was to die for.
Amazing long lunch and so warm and welcoming
A great night had celebrating our wedding anniversary!!
A lovely place. Good food, good service. The downside side: too crowdy, tables are too close to each other and too noisy. Don't bring a date here during peak time, otherwise you will be yelling at each other.
Excellent meal pre-theatre. We asked the waiter which dishes to avoid as we were seeing a show and he pointed out which ones would take longer - everything else came within 20-30mins. We ordered 7 dishes for 3 people which was perfect. The food was delicious and we will be coming back when we don't have a time limit!
Nice food enjoyed the privacy with the COVID screens which need to remain till this pandemic passes. Will go again
Excellent restaurant with great food and very friendly staff. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming plus a range of interesting dishes to share.
Every single dish that we ordered tasted amazing. Cicchetti serves tapas style food and so you're able to taste a few dishes each time you visit. We ordered 5 dishes between 3 people and 3 of those had truffle flavorings - which were insanely good! 100% would go back and recommend to friends!
Might seem expensive due to the size of the plates (think Small tapas) but the quality of the products is higher than in most places, so if you are looking for quality food rather than quantity, this is the place to go.
First, let’s start with the good bits : the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Decor and atmosphere was nice too. The food and the little piece of cheese cake in the end was a nice gesture (birthday desert on the house), although the cake could have been cut a bit more presentable, if I can even rate a freebie? Haha. It looked like it was scooped out of a tray very quickly, which made it look less presentable.
The table setting was a bit unorganised (cutlery was just placed randomly on table instead on the napkin). The table set up could use some improvements and I’d like to see better quality napkins for the price you pay. The service was a bit slow as we felt it took a while to get the staff’s attention even after the restaurant became a bit quieter. Overall, I’d come back, but not for a special occasion - perhaps for a friendly catch-up instead :)
Beautiful interior, faultless and charming service and outstanding food. Can't wait to return.
The service was good, the ambience really nice, the portions are TINY. If I had known the Lobster ravioli meant 5 ravioli’s for £15, I probably wouldn’t have (especially gone) there to eat, however if you want some (very small pizza) - its an ok place to eat: I enjoyed it more for the ambience than the food to be honest!
Lovely little restaurant, fantastic atmosphere, and delicious small plates. Wait staff were helpful and fun, smashing cocktails also. Will return.
Always a great experience across the board. Next time we will
Order 3 dishes, eat them before ordering more as it’s sun optimal to have 5 hot plates at the same time. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Interesting selection of Italian small plates, all were tasty and nicely presented. Food very quickly brought to the table,. Unfortunately our experience was marred by a noisy large group of customers who didn't want to pay their bill and were arguing with the staff.
Lunch with my daughter
Great food, service was excellent. House red very good. Would recommend and will certainly be visiting again next time I’m in town.
Extremely good, good social distancing, screens between tables, great service, not packed, leisurely and great food, just one dish was a little disappointing, everything else was fab
I'm so glad Cicchetti survived the lockdown! They have an amazing food, and the quality is still outstanding! The service is always super friendly. We absolutely love this place - we always go there before theatre.
Had table for 4 in centre of restaurant. Excellent food. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially after lockdown. Pre-booked through OpenTable. Worked a dream.
Excellent food and quick service
Really great food and lovely restaurant vibe. Cocktails were tasty also
It was delicious!
Amazing food, lovely wine, brilliant service. Definitely planning to revisit soon!
Date with my daughter! Squeezing it in before lockdown. The San Carlo never disappoint.
Absolutely fantastic food ambience and service.
This is my go to restaurant when visiting the RA. It has a lovely ambience and I think they've done really well with isolating the tables without losing the ambience. The food is glorious and I always over-order and yet still end up with clean plates. Will be back soon.
Great atmosphere and tasty food!
Food great, service friendly and very fast.
The gentleman at reception/entrance to the restaurant however, could do with being more welcoming and less arrogant.
We had made our booking via OpenTable about 20 mins before, and as he couldn't find it immediately, he gave us sneering looks and made us feel unwelcome (as if I actually had no booking). And there were plenty of empty tables.
It's the kind of attitude that can make or break a good restaurant - and in current times, with the hospitality sector suffering so much under the pandemic, I'd really think twice and welcome every customer as kindly as you can. You need us!
Unpretentious but formal enough. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed but special dinner. Staff are great fun. Best to go in a group. Small plates means sharing and trying many things on their amazing menu.
Excellent service and super food. Friendly and efficient staff .
A couple of things didn’t make my experience as good as it could have been. Firstly our waiter was lacking in customer care. Firstly when I asked for a red wine he went for one of the most expensive one (£84) and not offered any alternative. Very dry when attending to us to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Having tried some plates as we were informed of the type of meal was a tapas we asked for an extra one as we were still hungry. Again the same waiter came and in a not so nice way said kitchen was closing (9:00) and had to be last orders.
With regards to food it was nice. The specialty Ravioli were incredible. Unfortunately the pasta with baby clams had loads of small bits of broken shell which could have been disastrous if I hadn’t realised and may have broken a tooth.
Finally the optional service charge (12.5%) which is included in the bill (I now wonder why our waiter went for a £84 bottle of wine). I asked for it to be removed as I was going to pay what I felt was right as if I had bottled water instead of wine the percentage would be a lot lower and the same work would have been asked from our waiter (open a bottle and place on the table). Our waiter when I asked for the service charge to be removed he made a grunt of disapproval. This was the final straw so I left without leave a tip, although I feel for the kitchen staff who barring the broken shells made really nice food.
