Cinnamon Bazaar is the latest restaurant & cocktail bar from Vivek Singh's range of Cinnamon restaurants, situated in London’s Covent Garden.

We are a dining concept that mixes real Indian heritage with urban London, and our menus have been inspired by the marketplaces that lie on the trading routes that connect the empires of the Old World.

The cross-cultural dining experience embraces the democratic spirit of a bazaar, making us a real cultural melting pot – the perfect place to eat, drink, relax and celebrate.

Our private dining room, the Khari Baoli, is situated on the first floor above the hustle & bustle of the restaurant, and can accommodate 12 – 30 guests in this picturesque dining room, featuring its very own private bar. It is a real democratic place for people to meet, eat, drink, exchange ideas, work and celebrate.

The good:
The taste was actually really good. The chaats were full of flavour, and the snacks were surprising by their taste.
The service however was poor. The floor we were was very obviously understaffed and lacked ambiance but we couldn’t really figure out why.

The food here is lovely and arrives quickly once you have ordered. However, the issue was the service when we arrived. When you are seated at a restaurant you expect someone to come over with menus. This didn't happen and we had to ask several times. We ordered wine which took forever to arrive. The staff were pleasant but it was very understaffed! Not enough people working for a busy Saturday evening so staff were stretched to the limit. Please hire more people!

I booked a table for 6 however when we arrived I was beckoned towards an area in the restaurant and we were told to squeeze 6 adults round a table of 4 and that "the system" had booked the table and there was nothing they could do it about it. After we were shown to the table for 4 opposite us I could see a perfectly good table of 6 free, around ten minutes later this table was given to another party of 6, despite us arriving first. We then watched as this party received their menus and had their drinks orders taken before us. I therefore called over who I assumed to be the manager and pointed this out but she said there was nothing she could do about this. We then eventually had our drinks order taken, many items were not available and 2 member of the party ordered Stella which turned up flat and the rest of the drinks order was incorrect. At this point we decided enough was enough and we would leave. Unacceptable service and not expected from what is billed as a good restaurant with good service.

After reading mostly positive reviews, I went ahead to make a booking. Unfortunately, we were very underwhelmed by it all. The service was extremely slow and there was no attentiveness to us or other tables around us in fact. The restaurant felt understaffed for how busy it was. The food was OK but I didn't feel it was good value for money, so overall great potential but lack of staff affected our whole experience that we wouldn't bother going back again.

One of the worst London dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The worst ‘service’ (one rushed waiter for around 30 diners) and a clueless temp to assist him. Mediocre food some of which was served cold. And the smallest portions I’ve seen in a long time. We were constantly chasing our order. Drinks we had to ask for 3 times. On top of that prices match some of London’s Indian restaurants that have a Michelin star. We left angry and disappointed. Avoid at all costs.

A slight hiccup on arrival, with a rather terse greeter did little to detract from a great meal and generally attentive staff.

The food was really very tasty, with good options for vegetarians.
The lunchtime menu offers a 2 or 3 course deal, which seems worthwhile.
I'll be back.

It's a shame service is so terribly disorganised.
I should have paid more attention to the reviews mentioning it.
We had diner there with my wife and kids and were looking forward to a modern Indian restaurant.
The food is great....if and when you finally get it. It seems most of the guests were experiencing a similar fate and the mood was a bit wasted by angry customers repeatedly asking for the bill of missing items. Again once we got the meals, we thought they were tasty and the price is ok for the area, but it was so annoying to constantly ask for our meals, cutlery, our drinks, basically anything we had ordered and that could never seem to come together at the appropriate time.
Net net it's not a pleasant experience.

Memorable for the wrong reasons. I booked for a Friday evening. Front of house was non-existent. I was left standing for several minutes before anyone came to see me. I was given a seat at the bar (happily just vacated, as there was very little space). While I waited at the bar no one came to update me on the table status. Indeed the first contact was being told (quite rudely) to move along to an empty seat. The person who told me this did not know I was waiting for a table, and subsequently became more attentive and offered complimentary glasses of Prosecco (although inexplicably only two provided for party of three). Finally got to table about thirty minutes late. Waiting staff overstretched. Waitress brought water for table but no glasses. Food was ok, but not outstanding. Chana masala houmous was a thin layer coating the inside of a bowl and unpalatable salty. Raita was plain yoghurt, which led to a laughable exchange with member of staff. We had to send the bill back having been charged for 7 portions of houmous. Expected better.

Have been a number of times and the food and staff are usually outstanding. Food was great but being kept waiting 45 mins for our table then poor service once at the table (could see our order on the side waiting to be brought out for quite a while)
Will go back as the food is excellent but hope for better service next time

The food was outstanding. A successful modern take on indian cousin. Good wine. Beautiful porcelain.
Only one down side which actually managed to spoil our overall great experience. We were given the bill without requesting it while we have been still finishing our dessert. Moreover, we were prompt to pay couple of minutes later. Nobody informed me that there is a return time on the table beforehand. Also, there have been several empty tables around us. Just a shame that a perfect meal has been ruined by this bitter aftertaste...

Just very average all around when you consider they have some great competition all around them. Must’ve been short stuffed Sunday night as service was very reactive and we had to get up and get our own water and ice that we have asked the waiter for. Food was forgettable and we were not given larger plates after starters for our mains that we ordered to share. Don’t realky see a reason to rush back there.

First impressions are good. The decor is nice and the menu looks good but this is all let down as soon as you
are sat down. We waited longer than we should have to order our drinks and ordered our food at the same time. We then waiting a long time for our drinks to arrive, even though we could see them sat on the bar for 5-10 minutes before they were brought over. Food was then dropped at our table that wasn't ours, my partner had to get up and walk over the waiting staff to tell them it wasn't ours, our starters then arrived which were nice, soon after this a bottle of wine was brought over to our table that we hadn't ordered. Our mains were then brought over but even though its marketed as a kind of tapas menu no plates were brought with them. The food was OK, too salty in my opinion and my partner felt the same. For the cost, I didn't think it was value for money and they need to at least double the waiting staff.

The food and ambiance are OK by Covent Garden standards. The lemon and ginger iced tea is just expensive lemonade. There was an attempt to overcharge us by billing a basket of 3 small naans as 3 separate items, doubling the price. The final insult was that they informed Opentable that my party had not shown up, triggering threats to my good reputation. I won’t go there again

The restaurant food and service were fantastic; we could not fault it. The food was amazing with just the right amount of spices. The best Indian food we have eaten in a long time and the staff were all very friendly and informative. We will definitely go back.

It was a shame that the bar service on arrival was so poor. Rather than acknowledging us, the barman continued to stack the dishwasher with his back to us. We were also ignored by 2 other members of staff despite asking them politely if we could get a drink and waited a good few minutes before my boyfriend felt he had to ask someone quite sternly to serve us. It was obvious we wanted serving so I am not sure what went wrong there. Hopefully a blip!

I arrived on time and was seated at my table but waited half an hour for drinks. On this occasion the appetizers were great but the main missed the mark as the rice was over done. It was busy but I found service a little slow and inattentive. I will probably return to a different restaurant at a different time to see if this was a once off. Left feeling disappointed really.

We were made most welcome when we arrived and the service friendly and efficient without being rushed. We chose meals from the 3 course set menu - the food was well prepared and very tasty. I started with with a chicken tikka, followed by a delicious fish in a type of soup and finished with creme brulee. A very enjoyable lunch.

Hard to review: starters were truly excellent - unique, flavourful, well-presented - everything you'd expect from one of the Cinnamon Collection restaurants. However, it took them between 30 and 40 minutes to arrive - not ideal when you are trying to get to the theatre in time! And it was a very quiet Sunday afternoon - restaurant was close to empty. Main courses were very good - but not unique or different. At which point £18.50 for a chicken biryani seems a bit steep. Desert also took ages to come out - we weren't sure if it was ready and just sitting at the bar for pick up. Waitress was understanding of our experience and knocked 30% off the bill (unprompted). That is appreciated, but we still had to run to get to the theatre in time - not the relaxing experience we hoped for!

We attended on a lunch time when it was not very busy so were not hurried to release the table and were able to have a very leisurely meal. Food was very good but portions quite small given that we were sharing so it was just a taster of each dish for each diner. Service started well but became rather slow when other diners arrived so probably not really enough staff to cover the numbers but our server was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely eat there again.

I’m sorry to write a bad review but I was so disappointed in this restaurant. Our table was 30 mins late and we were in and out in an hour, with our plates being cleared as we were still eating. We had starters and mains but the portions were absolutely tiny and the food itself was well below average. With a whole weekend planned in London I looked forward to this the most, when in fact it turned out to be a let down. Not worth the money I paid that night. Sorry again guys.
