Cinnamon Bazaar is the latest restaurant & cocktail bar from Vivek Singh's range of Cinnamon restaurants, situated in London’s Covent Garden.

We are a dining concept that mixes real Indian heritage with urban London, and our menus have been inspired by the marketplaces that lie on the trading routes that connect the empires of the Old World.

The cross-cultural dining experience embraces the democratic spirit of a bazaar, making us a real cultural melting pot – the perfect place to eat, drink, relax and celebrate.

Our private dining room, the Khari Baoli, is situated on the first floor above the hustle & bustle of the restaurant. There won't be any minimum spending on Private Lunch booking during January to end of November 2020 (Sunday to Friday only). Just Choose any of our private dining menu (min 20-35 guest and menu £25 to £55).
It is a real democratic place for people to meet, eat, drink, exchange ideas, work and celebrate.

Private Dining

Aptly named after Delhi’s ancient spice bazaar, Khari Baoli is also known as a ‘watering hole’ due to the well from which the 17th century market first originated. Fast forward to today and it is now Asia’s largest spice market playing host to millions of charismatic traders & shoppers who gather every day, not just to exchange ingredients but to feast and swap life stories- just like they’ve done for centuries. Khari Baoli dining room & bar Situated on the first floor above the hustle & bustle of the restaurant, the picturesque dining room seats up to 35 and features its very own private bar. Available for exclusive hire for parties between 12-35 guests, it is the perfect place for anybody looking to exchange their own stories with friends over fantastic food and drink! Our delicious Vivek Singh feasting set menus start from £35 per head and offer easily priced packages to suit your party size and budget.

Despite the tasty food (although not much of a spicy kick to any dish I ordered) what let this dining experience down was the lacklustre service: we had to remind staff 3 times for water we had been offered. Dishes then came extremely fast making for a rushed dinner. Also, tables are crammed in so you are very close to your neighbouring diners. Cinnamon Bazaar seems to be imitating the Dishoom formula but the latter wins hands down for tastier food at far better value.
In summary, not bad for a quick supper but at a price!

No ambiance, service not great. Standard of food would be good for a street vendor. Was expecting more as this place is michilin recommended. Paying top price for mediocre food and experiance.

I have eaten here many, many times, and usually this restaurant is exceptional in all regards, but a number of things were not quite right on this occasion. Will still go back and try them again though to see if this is a change or just a one off night.

Food was amazing. We had never had this kind of Indian tapas style. Only downside was the wine was crap. I don’t understand why English restaurants that have great food pair it with a terrible wine list and don’t let you BYO. Anyway don’t come here for the wine, come for the food.

Food excellent and idiosyncratic - I had a Lamb Rogan Josh Shepherd's Pie, which was, as you'd expect, a curry with mashed potato on top - and there was lots to choose from for my vegetarian guest. 1 star knocked off only because the tables are small and quite close together.

Food was great. Had to go to bar to get drink refills. Food order was “lost” after appetisers so waited 40 mins. Seemed strange so think the main order wasn’t placed till we asked.

Restaurant was busy but not acceptable service.

Food was amazing and will come back though. Hopefully service was a one time issue.

Enjoyed all the dishes. We had the hot Chaat platter, tapioca chips, the crab, the chicken Thigh curry , chicken wings and a paratha. It was definitely too much for 2 people. The waitress had encouraged us to have another dish but we didn’t eat it or need it. The food was tasty and fairly priced however the drinks were overpriced and not very good. We both had a gin from the cocktail menu - the tonic was flat, the glass was like a child’s tumbler and there was nothing special for £12. The glass of red wine I had was £16.80. There was a 30 minute wait between our starters and mains. Other tables were served before us even though they arrived after us. We had to remind our drinks. The place filled up very quickly and they were busy. Don’t go here if you prefer not to be sitting on top of the people. Lastly - there was no coat rack, no where to put a long coat at the table .

Overall good food, good atmosphere but service and drinks need attention

The food was great! We loved our watermelon appetizer - a lovely blend of flavors, and also the Indian Shepard's pie. We tried the hottest item on the menu and had to sign the waiver accepting responsibility. Indeed it was exceptionally hot. The service was underwhelming but I think the server we had was having an off day as others seemed to be getting better service from other servers. I'd definitely go back.

The food was decent and service was very quick. However, the tables were placed extremely close to reach other that there was no privacy or personal space. The table spacing should be improved. Otherwise, food was decent.

Went with my boyfriend for an NYE dinner. Five fantastic courses for only £65 and a great wine recommendation from the waiter. Not sure if it’s on the menu throughout the year, but would strongly recommend the paneer curry!

The one star I am giving to this restaurant is because they agreed to seat us on regular tables instead of a bar because my wife is expecting. It pretty much went downhill from there.

The waitress took forever to come take our order

Once they took our order, they served masala chai without sugar on the side

The waitress did not bring us water at all

Then they served us starters - and didn’t get us cutlery. I went and then picked up forks and spoons from the bar.

Then our mains didn’t arrive for 50 minutes.

Then they brought us fish curry though I am a vegetarian and I had ordered Paneer. Thankfully they gave us paneer to go (and didn’t charge for that..).

Then I thought this is it. Then their credit card machine wouldn’t work!!

We were a party of five and dined here on 12/30. We had tickets to the ballet and had made an early reservation. When we were seated the restaurant was not crowded, however after 20 minutes a server had not approached our table. Another couple, however, seated after and directly beside us had ordered and were enjoying drinks. I left my seat and found a staff member to inquire whether we were going to be taken care of. A server came over soon after and we ordered our cocktails, appetizers and entrees. At this point our neighbors were enjoying their meal. The restaurant was beginning to fill up. It took another 20 minutes for our cocktails to be delivered, which arrived immediately ahead of all our food. So much for enjoying our drinks. One person in our party who ordered tea never received it. After delivering our food our server never came back to check in, and we had wanted to inquire about the tea and add something to our order. Finally a different staffer, not our server, came clear away our plates thinking we were finished. We mentioned the forgotten tea and ordered an additional dish and some dessert. After we received that food no one came back to check in with us AGAIN. Finally we were needing to get to the ballet and and began to put our coats on and clear out. Someone came over and began to frantically clear up the plates, which was more attention and concern than we had received all evening. Our bill, hastily presented as we stood near the bar, included a double charge for the tea that was never received and needed to be corrected.

I’ve been a server, so I pay attention to quality of service. Though the food here was delicious and the ambiance wonderful, our experience was ruined by terrible, neglectful service. It angers a party when their needs are ignored while the table directly beside them is receiving attentive service FROM THE SAME SERVER. We were a polite, low-maintenance group. I was very disappointed by the treatment we received.

The service was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was spectacular - excellent flavours rather than a wall of heat. Plenty of vegetarian options as well. Adults and kids alike loved it and we will be back soon.

We arrived 15min late only to be told to wait to be seated after 20min. The food was delicious, full of flavour and presented well. Quite small portions depending on what you order. I did put a special request for my sister’s birthday but received nothing when we finished our meals. That was the only let down because most restaurants bring a small dessert or something for the birthday person.

Reasonable size portions for sharing. Not sure the popcorn works, limited spices, would prefer mini popadoms.
