Cinnamon Bazaar is the latest restaurant & cocktail bar from Vivek Singh's range of Cinnamon restaurants, situated in London’s Covent Garden.

We are a dining concept that mixes real Indian heritage with urban London, and our menus have been inspired by the marketplaces that lie on the trading routes that connect the empires of the Old World.

The cross-cultural dining experience embraces the democratic spirit of a bazaar, making us a real cultural melting pot – the perfect place to eat, drink, relax and celebrate.

Our private dining room, the Khari Baoli, is situated on the first floor above the hustle & bustle of the restaurant. There won't be any minimum spending on Private Lunch booking during January to end of November 2020 (Sunday to Friday only). Just Choose any of our private dining menu (min 20-35 guest and menu £25 to £55).
It is a real democratic place for people to meet, eat, drink, exchange ideas, work and celebrate.

Private Dining

Aptly named after Delhi’s ancient spice bazaar, Khari Baoli is also known as a ‘watering hole’ due to the well from which the 17th century market first originated. Fast forward to today and it is now Asia’s largest spice market playing host to millions of charismatic traders & shoppers who gather every day, not just to exchange ingredients but to feast and swap life stories- just like they’ve done for centuries. Khari Baoli dining room & bar Situated on the first floor above the hustle & bustle of the restaurant, the picturesque dining room seats up to 35 and features its very own private bar. Available for exclusive hire for parties between 12-35 guests, it is the perfect place for anybody looking to exchange their own stories with friends over fantastic food and drink! Our delicious Vivek Singh feasting set menus start from £35 per head and offer easily priced packages to suit your party size and budget.

Very tasty food and generous portions! This was a great find - very convenient location, yet authentic food and full of flavour. We had a long wait for our food, though this wasn't an issue as it was nice to have a break between courses, especially given the size of the portions!

Very good Indian restaurant with nice setting and pleasant atmosphere. I was hoping to see more possibilities for vegetarians though. Lentil based dishes for example.

Excellent food, couldn’t fault it. Really enjoyed the sheppards pie- very nice. Would say that the service could have been better to match the food

The food was fantastic, tasty and delicious. I was disappointed that there wasn’t a vegetarian brunch menu.

Delicious food. Staff just a bit too quick to clear table - whilst still eating! Would recommend.

A pleasant experience - we were greeted very warmly and promptly shown to our table even though we arrived a bit early. We were able to take our time and weren't rushed at any point, despite the restaurant clearly being at the peak of the lunch rush.

We opted for the afternoon tea menu, the food was nice - nothing to write home about though unfortunately. The pani for the pani puri was watered down with an overwhelming coriander taste, the Bombay sandwich was just cucumber and beetroot (so not only a tiny portion but also nowhere near a "proper" Bombay sandwich) and the masala tea was quite bland.

The chaat was lovely though, as was the 2 mouthfuls of the Paneer wrap.

Dessert was generous and tasty, however - that was the only element of the meal where we didn't feel like the offering wasn't generous.

I would go back to the restaurant, however not for afternoon tea, but perhaps to try some of the a la carte items

The waiters and waitresses seemed very distracted. Upon entering we had to speak to three different people for our reservation. Need better communication between staff

Most disgusting and disappointing place, I’ve ever been. Spoiled my valentines night!! Pathetic service, and noisy ambience. I booked the table for 9:30pm online but was seated at 10:10. The staff forget to put cutlery on my table. The desserts were served after asking them repeatedly that it hasn’t Been served yet. Super slow service. Just satisfied with the food a little!

The food was delicious but it was ruined by being served an alcoholic drink that I ordered as non alcoholic and despite checking on two separate occasions and being reassured it was non alcoholic discovering it was alcoholic due to unfamiliar after taste and another customer next table saying it definitely was alcoholic. Then at the third time of asking (another waiter), he said it was alcoholic. How can the staff get it so wrong?

Valentine’s Day, they couldn’t even provide a rose or any indication of personalisation for the table, no love note or anything, no effort whatsoever

My dinning experience on Valentine’s Day was poor with the service being very slow in-between each course and
we were almost given the wrong course at one stage.
The food was delicious however a few items arrived cold (i.e. nann bread)

WE WERE RUSHED TO OUR TABLE BUT THE FOOD WAS AMAZING - DEFINITELY GO AGAIN - BIT DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE COMPLIMENTARY BELLINIS WHICH WERE ON THE MENU WHEN I BOOKED - BUT HEY - IT WAS STILL WORTH THE VISIT AND IN SUCH A GREAT SPOT FOR THE THEATRE - MAYBE PUT ON SPECIAL THEATRE DEALS - COULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS TO ALL#

The food was generally good - but not exciting. The service was poor - we waited over 25mins just for someone to come and take drink orders. We struggled to get waiter’s attention - people just weren’t looking up!

Cinnamon Bazaar keeps getting better and better: the food is delightfully imaginative, the reception and service are very friendly and the choice of dishes is exceptional. This has been a great addition to the Cinnamon family and offers great quality and good cheer.

What a disappointment! Even the tea was horrid. Go to dishoom instead.

Arrived around 2:30pm Sunday 2nd Feb, Note- the menu on weekends is NOT their full menu so this immediately concerned me but the lady who took us to our table
realised its not good to mislead customers (their website doesn’t tell u about a restricted weekend menu) so gave me the full menu, which I appreciated. The service was fine overall and the place was not busy - I had reserved a table just incase but there were plenty of seats free for a Sunday lunch.

Food: So first the masala chai arrives - tastes like dish water mixed with paint and metal taste from the kettle. I am not a big tea drinker but my partner is so this was a shock - really thin and tasted horrid. The white European manager’s excuse for this - ‘sorry I am not Indian- I don’t know how it should be’. I did wonder - Why make the tea then?

Next arrives the tamarind prawn- edible and I could taste the tamarind.
The aloo tiki chat - first time round the tiki was soggy - like it was old and not fresh and then doused with yogurt. I returned it and they offered to make another but the chef (Rajesh) warned us that it will always be like that so Second time round it was a little less soggy but more salty. We left it after a bite.
The Lamb gaulati kebab- this is the king of soft meats. Of course it wasn’t the melt in mouth kebab but was good enough compared to the rest so far.
The chilli chat - soggy again , ate two pieces and left it.
The lamb biryani- cancelled before it arrived to save further disappointment.

Verdict- all hype and no substance. Uses Cinnamon’s name but not the same. Shameful that it’s run badly by Vivek Singh and his team.

The food was amazing! We got the early evening 3-course meal which was a great deal, including a cinnamon Bellini, for £34. We added the Samosa Chaat because the table next to us had them—amazing! Loved the double cooked pork belly, the paneer and the creme brûlée!

Extremely loud place and a little inconvenient tables, service forgetting orders and bringing wrong drinks. All seems like they are just fixed to serve set menus for pre theatre. Far worse than I thought and than advertised.

Despite the tasty food (although not much of a spicy kick to any dish I ordered) what let this dining experience down was the lacklustre service: we had to remind staff 3 times for water we had been offered. Dishes then came extremely fast making for a rushed dinner. Also, tables are crammed in so you are very close to your neighbouring diners. Cinnamon Bazaar seems to be imitating the Dishoom formula but the latter wins hands down for tastier food at far better value.
In summary, not bad for a quick supper but at a price!

We had the pre theatre menu this time. There was reasonable choice, it was good value and it was nice and buzzy in the restaurant. The food was good as always. The tables are a little close to each other so it’s impossible not to hear everything that’s being said either side but it was fine. Staff were attentive but not intrusive.

Went for afternoon tea on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn’t completely full but clearly they must have been understaffed as service was pretty much non existent. Waited ages to be served (ended up asking for service, on numerous occasions!). The food was mostly poor. The chaat was nice and so were the desserts but the fish finger sandwich had a foul tasting sauce on it. Tasted metallic. The pani puri tasted stale. Overall, thoroughly disappointed. We’re Indian so know good Indian food, and this was NOT.

Food was amazing. We had never had this kind of Indian tapas style. Only downside was the wine was crap. I don’t understand why English restaurants that have great food pair it with a terrible wine list and don’t let you BYO. Anyway don’t come here for the wine, come for the food.
