Not your average Indian, you won’t find butter chicken or chicken tikja here. It’s an interesting menu, not very well described. Staff need lessons on mysogyny

Very good, however, more staff required. Waiters seemed to be rushed. The waiters seemed notably to be of mostly male and East European nationality. I think it would be better if there was an equal mixture of female and male waiters AND of maybe varied nationalities for such a restaurant.

This restaurant never fails to disappoint. The food was exceptional as always and they offer a very generous lunchtime set meal which is great value.
The staff were all kind and attentive and the restaurant has a lovely relaxed feel to it.

Having had bookings previously but always had to rearrange, I was really looking forward to visiting CK for the first time. The menu is short, which I quite like as there is more focus on what is on offer. We skipped starters and ordered two mains and a side with breads. Drinks were one small beer (£5!) and 4 glasses of white wine (should have ordered a bottle, but chat took us into the second glass). I have asked 3 people to estimate the total cost of this meal. The range was £70-£90. In reality it was a staggering £146. Not helped by expensive wine by the glass (which I hadn't noted, as the bill payer). But what standard bottle of white costs £16.50 / glass?!

Irrelevant of the cost, the food was most important. The place was empty on a Wednesday 1pm so service wasn't at fault although I do find it frustrating when a waiter asks for your order so shortly after sitting down and the menus are still where he put them. We eventually ordered chicken korma and lamb madras from the a la carte as the set lunch didn't appeal. As this is a "posh" Indian, we didn't expect them to look like standard dishes (not really shareable) and my guest reported his chicken korma to have been nice. My lamb was probably too rare, and very chewy. The sauce was a little creamy and not very spicy, so not the heat level I might consider with madras, but it was nice. The small portion of rice/quinoa with the dishes were fine and the accompanying dhal and roti were nice too. (Why isn't roti/chapatie on the menu??).

The three visits I spent to the bathroom in the evening following the lunch can only be attributed to what I ate there.......

In summary, over-priced, not particularly nice, no ambience and produced stomach upset later. Avoid as there are MUCH better places!

My first experience dining at Cinnamon Kitchen was exceptional. I had arranged dinner for 12 people to celebrate a few birthdays. The set menu was brilliant value and had a good selection for veg and non veg. The chef catered for a friend who had allergies with no problems.
Food was tasty and the right quantity however, the set menu could be improved by giving the option to have naan with the mains. We didn't realise until the mains were served that it needed to be accompanied with naan so had to order it separately and wait for it to arrive.
Will visit again.

Every time we go to Cinnamon Kitchen the service is fantastic. The food is flavoursome, Eastern, aromatic and colourful with a great choice of meat, fish and vegetarian. Fixed price lunch at £19 for two courses and £24 for three is exceptional value, while giving a very agreeable choice. Number one choice for catching up with friends and family in the City, where you will be treated royally without damaging your bank balance. The glass roof enables you to eat alfresco all year round. Just book it!

The food was supriangly poor and lacked flavour. It was as though it had been marinaded half an hour before cooking.

It lacked salt as well.

They didn’t have the wine I wanted and took a long time to come and tell me that. They ended up delivering my starters before my wine and the starters were cold so we sent them back.

Very disappointed as had built this place up to my husband having been there some years ago and it turned out to be a really poor experience

I booked this restaurant for a small family celebration to help mark my birthday. It was my first visit here and the service was really good. My mum is vegetarian and doesn't eat any onion and garlic so they created a special dish for her which was delicious she really liked the dish and praised the cooking :)!!

We ordered a briyani, fish dish and pork cheek dish all dishes were lovely and had the right amount of spice and flavour. The food wasn't greasy at all and was really tasty and enjoyable.

As was the overall experience in the restaurant with friendly staff who were very accommodating especially because we didn't have a birthday cake but they provided a special dessert which was absolutely delicious. All in all a great dining experience would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and will be sure to visit again.

I like Cinnamon Kitchen. The Devonshire Square branch has a nice semi Au Fresco arrangement. which is a nice option in the summer when the temperatures in the evening are agreeable. I love the English/Indian fusion of the menu choice, which I don't seem to see much elsewhere. Always a nice experience here.

Had a fantastic evening at Cinnamon Kitchen. The food was delicious and all spiced to perfection and our waiter was THE most engaging, charming man who advised us perfectly and bought us some treats from the kitchen all which were absolutely scrummy. We sat outside on a lovely summer evening and had impeccable service and food. Highly recommended

Excellent food by excellent waiters who provided great suggestions. Chef sent out three relishes/spreads with the garlic bread, as well as a complimentary starter so that we could taste the ribs, which were amazing. Nice seating covered outside courtyard with lots of tables, area for people who want to have casual bar and casual seating. Food was really tasty and well-priced. Recommend for couples, friends, and families.
