Good fun tasty version of Indian food. Smart and well cooked. Very accommodating of a coeliac and altered the tasting menu to be gluten free. Service on the slower side but very polite.
My friends and I shared a meal for my birthday. It was delicious and enjoyable.
Food is extremely tasty !
The quantity provided was less for the money value- one would have to eat again as its is like mini meal.
The service was slow, not only that, the portion sizes were ridiculous. It’s the tiniest portion of pau bhaji I’ve ever seen for a main course. Left feeling hungry, disappointing and the flavours were ok!
I had read some TripAdvisor comments about how the food was great but the service was poor. Well, our experience was far from it - BOTH the food and the service were great! Our waiter was very attentive and personable and the food tasted authentic and wasn't too pricey.
The only thing was that when we asked for water they brought out bottles which we were then charged for (although the staff removed the charges as soon as we asked), so I think it was just miscommunication, so make sure you specify for tap water if that's what you want.
Great area, tasty food and spot on service!
Delicious food in a great area! Definitely going to come back, especially for the garlic naan and house curry.
Nice set menu - Shame about the squeaky lift!!
Portions were so small for the price.
Very friendly, prompt service, average Indian food, but nice. Set dinner good value, a la carte less so.
food was nice but far too overpriced and the portion sizes were pitiful. Service was meh, no one checked on our food the whole meal and had to wait 10 minutes for our plates to be cleared then a further 15 minutes before we had to ask for dessert menus for ourselves. Once we had the dessert menus it took someone so long to come over in the end we just paid the bill and left. Save your money and go somewhere else
Below average food, dull atmosphere and spilt candle wax over my jacket amount to a poor experience.
Friendly staff. Not very cosy. Good for a quick snack or meal.
Excellent service with friendly & really helpful staff. Delicious food too.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere nice and relaxed. The waitress was very nice and helpful. However, a mistake was made in the order and we didn’t realize until the bill came. Some sort of side we never ordered was added to our bill and when we said it, the manager came and without even saying anything just put my card in the machine until I realised it was the same amount and they hadn’t removed the item from the bill. Very annoying to see how he tried to get away with it. I mentioned it and ensued a very long back and forth. It took a long time until he did something and yet he came back with a revised bill that only had a small discount but still had half the price of this item. Honestly very irritating. Such a shame as we really liked the food and would have gladly come back, but now too bad. Game over and it’s entirely because of the manager himself NOT the waitress.
Everything is fine, but just a little underwhelming.
The food doesn't taste particularly fresh, and I think the menu could definitely be updated and improved. A few of the main dishes are certainly too pricey for the quality and amount you receive
Lovely meal and very good value for money. Standard of service was friendly and attentive.
I’ve tried the Cinnamon Club and this complements it well for different, less formal occasions. Great food, great value and great service
Delicious Indian street food in a hipster setting. The 8-course sharing menu is superb value for money - it includes a cocktail as well! Service friendly but rather slow - there was a long wait between some of the courses.
The food was lovely, the service friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable. This was our third visit and every time has been very enjoyable and there are always new dishes available.
We didn’t actually get to eat anything. 45 minutes after putting on our order the food still hasn’t arrived & we were unable to get a straight response from the staff as to what had happened - so went elsewhere. Really disappointing. Would rate zero for everything if that was given as an option
Husbands birthday. I called ahead and was advised they would write a message on his plate, that never happened which I could live with but then it just got worse and worse. We went as a family of 4 for afternoon tea with 1 vegetarian. Not sure what went wrong, but my son's veg afternoon tea didn't come with our food. We chased and had to wait an additional 25 plus mins. No extra drinks offered or discount, one guy did say sorry once, but that just didnt cut it. Cost nearly £100 for an experience I really wouldnt want to do again. By the time the missing food arrived, we had all finished our mediocre tea. I have been for quite a few afternoon teas and we were all excited about having one with an Indian twist, but it didn't live up to expectations. I don't write bad reviews, but it was all just pretty crappy. They could of tried to salvage the situation, but didn't really seen at all fussed. Food was ok but not worth the money or putting up with the bad service......
Casual dinning informal atmosphere with interesting cocktails & fusion Indian food.
As with all the “Cinnamon” restaurants the quality was outstanding. Great relaxed atmosphere, with friendly, attentive and helpful staff. We ordered the 8 dish taster menu which was a brilliant way to experience a good selection of its signature dishes.
nice pleasant eveing with good food in a lively environment!
Unhygienic - floors were very dirty and especially the toilets.
Food - very small portions especially for the money you are paying. Better off going to Dishoom which is tastier, more authentic and better value for money.
Service - very average.
8 course tasting menu was excellent
The service was good, but the food was mediocre and bland. Nice atmosphere but probably wouldn't come back.
This was the worst restaurant I’ve been to food was put on my plate from freezer, Nan bread was like popodom, when I complained this to manger he didn’t care and told me to pay for the bill and get out.. for the food we didn’t eat
I don't usually write reviews, but my experience here was so awful I made an exception. The meal was a disaster from start to finish. Which is a shame because I had heard great things about Cinnamon Soho.
When we arrived, we were told that we had to have the Valentine's Day set menu and the restaurant was serving nothing else. We hadn’t been told that this would be the case when booking the table so we raised it with the manager. The manager tried to pin blame on us telling us that we should know all restaurants would have set menus on Valentine’s Day.
I’m sorry but if there was only a set menu available for the night, it is the restaurant’s responsibility to advertise this clearly. It was rude for the manager to try and excuse it and blame it on the customers. We saw at least 3 other tables being caught out by this and the manager being equally defensive with them.
Either way, we had no choice but the stay.
For starters, the Keema Paratha was burnt and tasteless.
For mains I ordered the Keralan shrimp curry, having asked the waiter how big the shrimps were. He assured me they were large (he actually used two hands to show size). When they arrived, they were supermarket sized at best. The “vegetables” that came with the meals were literally two leaves of pak choi (not even the whole pak choi).
As for the Chettinad spiced grilled lamb curry, the meat was so “tender” it disintegrated into mush pretty much instantly.
I’ve seriously had better curries from a takeaway.
The dessert, a “bitter chocolate tartlet with an orange and mint salad”, I’m sorry but a single mint leaf does not count as a salad.
The only silver lining was that the food arrived quickly (probably because they were serving nothing else) so that we could eat and get out of there faster.
For a meal that cost £90, I wouldn’t be comfortable even paying half of that for the quantity or the quality of the food. Avoid this place at all cost.
Great food and service amazing fusion of English and Indian food really delicious and different especially the scotch eggs and olives. Service very friendly and attentive well recommended
An enjoyable restaurant from the people who brought us the Cinnamon Club in Westminster. Good quality Indian food
Awesome place, small and intimate and not crowded. Comfy place for a small friends group get together
Good food but average service.
We opted for the pre-theatre menu (2 courses for 22) with a cocktail. not bad value but very small starters. We waited about 15minutes at our table before being offered drinks/ menus. the cinnamon bellini was fine though a little sweet. We enjoyed the tilapia starter the most. food was enjoyable but on the whole, it was a rather average meal.
Booked early for the set dinner menu and rang to check we could still order that by 6.30 if we wanted it. Was asked to move the booking to 6pm as otherwise we might not have the table for too long. 6pm was very early but we agreed - but from the moment we sat down even then, we felt the pressure. Asked for our order straight away, two courses came quickly after each other, and very soon after we finished we were asked if we wanted the bill. Or more or less told it was coming.
So it’s really nice food and the set menu is great value for the quality - and if you are off to the theatre the speed & efficiency will please you - but we had never felt the pressure of table-turning so acutely. Know that a lot of London restaurants do it but somehow it felt more extreme that night, probably because it happened right from the point of being asked to arrive 30 mins earlier. If that doesn’t worry you then yes do try it. Nice place apart from this!
Fantastic food. One of the best Indian restaurants in London
Overall this restaurant was a disappointment. So unhappy that I picked this place as service and quality of food in other restaurants (dishoom & Darjeeling express) of this kind in the area are much better. The food was not the best I’ve tasted and the set menu was a set price but when the bill arrived the items were split and worked out more expensive. To add to that the bottle of processco that we didn’t even have was on our bill at the end -an additional £46.00. So nearly charged double for what we had. I would not recommend going here at all!!!
Somewhat disappointing . not what we were expecting judging by the website and the quality of food we were expecting. Service was ok, but food had a lot to wish for. Dishes were incredibly salty . Cocktails were very nice . Sadly we won't be returning. maybe time to change the chef..
Great food and service. Big choice of drinks and dishes on the menu.
Good fusion indian food. would recommend it. The staff could be more accommodating, even if they have large numbers. they wanted to get you to eat quickly and leave rather than enjoy your time
