As always FANTASTIC. So much so we will back again this weeknd
Excellent venue to dine. Terrific food and service.
We were given a voucher for Christmas and decided to use it on 17th March, thankfully things were still relatively normal albeit very quiet. The bar downstairs was empty and there were only about 10 couples having lunch, so it was quite quiet. The waiter was very pleasant and we ordered our drinks and lunch. We had the lentil soup which was beautiful with plenty of flavour accompanied by lovely bread and butter. Next we had the chicken with leak, bacon and sticky risotto with cream sauce which again was beautiful with plenty of flavour. Would we go again, definitely and would definitely recommend to others.
Excellent food, great service, enjoyed every minute
Food was lovely but think you need to get your staff to be a bit more cheerful !! Also when she approached us after we had finished our meal she stood and said “are you finished “no smile and didn’t even ask how was our meal !!!
The meal we had was prawns, chicken on risotto, and Pana cotta. It was really delicious and a glass of prosecco.,just finished our meal. The waiters were very attentive and we have no hesitation in recommending the
Citation to anyone. We shall certainly be back.
Service was very good
Very friendly staff and nice food.
Food was good quality and was served quickly , unfortunately the only time we were asked how our meal was was when we were given the bill , service was non existent, real shame
Usually go on Sunday noise level.very high didn't stay for coffee due to this
Welcoming staff and efficient. Good food and great value for money will return and would definitely recommend to others
Main course garlic bread was so burnt it had to be sent back. Pasta and meatballs that arrived was cold and no flavour not to my tasting at all.
I had booked an itison deal of a 2 course meal with a bottle of wine to share for 2 people. The choice on thr menu was great and the food and service were excellent. Would visit again and highly recommend.
Friendly service, staff were helpful and attentive. Food was varied and very tasty. We will definitely be back
Good food, friendly, nice surroundings & good atmosphere. Will definitely go back again
Poor experience this time. Usually the service and food are good in there but this time both were quite poor
Great service and the food was amazing. Good selection on the menus.
Paid £3 extra for Prawn Cocktail that was totally tasteless cheapest of cheap prawns, apart from the overpowering lime juice. My Meatball main course had tasteless tomato sauce for the pasta, the meatballs were mediocre. The poor waiter was rushed off his feet as he was the only one taking orders and serving with the restaurant pretty much full - well done to him, shame on management for not having more staff on.
We enjoyed our two course mid-week lunch. Food, service and timings were all good. The only thing that let the place down was that the furnishings were a wee bit tired and worn. After our lunch we went downstairs for a drink. Again a wee bit tired decor wise and the temperature of the room was below comfortable. My wife sat with her coat on.
This was our first visit and were well satisfied. Ambience and general surroundings were very good indeed. Staff service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Food and wine were both very good with substantial portions. Only minor point was the background music - not our taste and a little intrusive. Would definitely go back again.
We had a very enjoyable time! The service was great and food was lovely.
very good all round meal .service and ambience would go back again .
Lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon, delicious food and not rushed for the table
Lovely venue but portions very small!! Staff very attentive
Food lovely but a couple if mistakes with the bill. Easily sorted though to be fair. Really enjoyed our night
We have been to the citation numerous times as have my family and friends. On this occasion it left a lot to be desired. We dont drink prosecco and asked for a wine instead but they wouldn't oblige so had to take a soft drink. Previously you did have the option of wine. Starter was ok and arrived quite quick. Main course took about 30 minutes to arrive (lamb on a bed of wilted spinach). Lamb was very undercooked on a bed of mushy spinach served on a plate which was far too large. As we had a train to catch we decided not to complain as this would have held us up. We didnt get asked whether we enjoyed the meal anyhow. Wont be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and wine.. Staff were attentive and friendly. All told a great deal in a lovely location.
Really enjoyed. The food was good. Service was friendly, very attentive.
The only negative was the decor getting slightly tatty(the upholstery on our chairs was a bit stained) and the windowsill was a bit grubby.
However, positives outweighed the negatives. Would return.
Delicious food. Excellent service. Excellent value with itison voucher
Really good service and food was on an itison 2 course deal which was magic. Only down side was that order some deserts and a cheese plate which was priced at £8., expensive for what you got.
We've been here lots of times before and really enjoyed the food and setting. This time we were very disappointed. The usual upstairs restaurant was shut off and we were asked to pick a table downstairs near the door. All the tables for two were crammed together to make maximum use of the limited space.
We were seated for 18:00 but our starters didn't arrive until 18:33. The food served was very good but the bottle of white wine included with the meal was cheap and tasteless. It was so bad I couldn't finish it.
It's a shame that one of our "go to" places in Glasgow turned out to be so disappointing. I don't think we'll be back.
Food was very nice and presented well. Washed down with a pleasant wine. An interesting place despite being a bit tired in some areas. Worth a visit .
Had a lovely meal - mushroom soup, chicken roast dinner & sticky toffee pudding. All came well presented & warm. Had a bit of a wait at the start, people arriving after us were served earlier than us, but wasn’t too long. Restaurant could’ve been a tiny bit warmer, but not freezing. All in, a nice Sunday night out. Will return.
Great atmosphere and the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had, can’t wait for another visit
was a gift but woukd buy again mysekf food was luvky staff great really enjoyed dinner
My wife and booked this last minute. Food was excellent and the service was as good as the food. Music was great too and we stayed till closing time. Would definitely go back and am thinking of booking for my daughters 21st.
The service was ok. Prawn cocktail was a bit bland and not worth the £3 supplement. We felt overall quality of food could have been better.
Ordered steaks for both of us. Could new chew them they were that tough. However staff were very courteous when we spoke to them and were happy to change. We had fish which was ok. The restaurant is larger but was full to bursting and noisy. Probably why the food wasn’t great .
The staff were really nice and the manager did apologise and agreeed the quality of the food was not up to scratch. Quite disappointing overall which is a shame as the waiting staff were so friendly and helpful.
The portion size was ok for me but my partner was still hungry food was nice but not enough
Lovely food, great service. Lovely restaurant. Good value.
Tables are packed so close together, service was very slow, food was average. I really like Citation for drinks but won’t be back for food.
