It was nice to walk in. We were seated right away. Food was mediocre at best. Our server was very nice.
I made a online reservation and the restaurant could not validate the reservation and made me wait an additional 35mins for a table to open up.
It was just okay. I think they should have replaced or ordered things before they opened. No Chardonnay, flat soda water and we’re pretty sure the ingredients in the pinacolada were sour, it was undrinkable and we should have sent it back. The service was great though as was the wedge salad.
Claim Jumper earned the lowest review possible because I was able to make a reservation for 9PM, and upon arrival at the restaurant was told that the place closed at 9PM. THey were not able to seat our party, and gave no explanation for them accepting a reservation for a time that they knew could not seat us.
We were so bummed- soup came out and the waiter admitted to us that it was delivered in bags and reheated at the restaurant... we left after that. Soup was completely separated and the consistency of queso dip.
Good service, nice environment in this time of COVID.
We had reservations, but we had to wait when we arrived. I wished Claim Jumper would have given us the choice of inside our outside dining.
The weather was chilly and while they had 2 heaters outside in their tent, I think they should have had 4 or 5 heaters. The waiter was good. The hostess was fair/poor.
Felt good to dine in again safely. The safe stayed with us the whole time. There wasn’t many staff involved which decreased the amount of contact
Absolutely the best service ever and the most accommodating and sweet staff.
Excellent customer service. The employees were very knowledgeable about their restaurant and menu items. I will definitely recommend this location to all my friends and family.
Great service, Great food, Great Birthday
Good service and food. The only dish that was lacking was blackened salmon (too dry). I would return again.
Great food, superb service.
Food was great. Service was great. Felt very safe dining at this location.
Was pleasant
Requested well done steaks. Both were served rare and at different times. With reservations waited 40 minutes. The bread, appetizer and drinks were good. The re cooked Tri tip was nasty. The bone in rib eye tasted good once cooked right. Ordered pizza with sausage and pepperoni to go and they forgot the sausage. That little slice of chocolate cake is still Heavenly.
Was very pleased with my meal. Steak was great and the raspberry white truffle cheese cake was the best. Thank you had a great time.
Considering it was Friday and Valentines we did make reservations. Upon arriving we did wait about 30 minutes but it was understandable. Ultimately dinner was great, service very good expecting the staff was very busy. Overall a great night out.
Food was absolutely terrible. I will never step foot in there again.
My husband and I came to Claim Jumpers for Valentine's Day dinner. The food was great, however, for Valentine's day, you would think they would change the music to maybe soft rock or mild music. The ambiance was not suited for that day. I get that we are in a bar-type dinner atmosphere, however, some rock music was just unnecessary for that evening. I saw a lot of cringed faces just like ours when it was a bit too hard.
I have to say the girl helping us out was not great.. mind you she had two tables and she took a long time to bring our drinks, out salads and soups came with the entree we not before.. the table was sticky and the salt and pepper was also sticky.. I asked for wipes and she said she didn’t have any so she just replaced the salt and pepper with new ones.. I asked for a rage for the table, she never brought it. We never received our refills of drinks. My trip was close to cold and like warm.. but didn’t want to make a fuss. Our food took almost an hour to come out and we sat down at 1:45.. the server seemed very defensive when talking with us and making it a point to say thanks for being patient it in a tone that was undermining .. This location needs to train this server on speed, customer service, attentiveness, and overall patience
The restaurant was fairly empty when I arrived. I was seated in a cluster of guest versus spreading out the room.
The host didn't acknowledge that I had a reservation on Open table.
The music in the dining room was way too loud.
Salad bar was disappointing. Bean salad was dry. Tomatoe/cucumber salad funny taste. Macaroni salad dry.
We were a party of 6. They ran out of clam chowder so she had to wait while a new batch was made. Took awhile and it was very thin and runny, unlike the bowl of clam chowder the other person in our party had received prior to it running out.
Had a great server. Friendly and efficient.
Buffet was very poor, choices were poorly presented and not fresh. Very disappointed.carving station had one small piece of beef .
Our waitress was very nice and accommodating to our party. She even put the football game on the tv near us, at our request! Food was very good. Will come back when in the area.
Our server was nice, but not efficient. When we had to ask several times where something was that we ordered, she always blamed someone else for the problem. Whe never came bakc to the table to check if everything was ok.
Felt like I was a regular walk in ... Was 10 min earlier than my reservation and still took while before we got seated
Service was good but had to wait 20 minutes even with a reservation that was the only thing that was bad about the dining experience food was great too
Overall, the restaurant is fine. We had not been to Claim Jumper in years and decided to try it on New Year's Eve. Perhaps our server (Cornell) was not having a good night or maybe it was just us. He seemed much more attentive and engaged with other guests and our concerns with the food and service had to be addressed to the manager (Ellana) who was very helpful and gracious. Unfortunately, our server was condescending when problems (i.e. order a side and charged for an appetizer) were called to his attention, was unresponsive to requests and orders (no soup and no condiments), and he did not refill water or drinks, and seemed impatient overall when we asked him to our table.
If we return to Claim Jumper, it will be at another location.
Our Open Table reservation was ignored. We were there about 5 minutes late, but they gave no indication that we would be placed in the general cue of people walking in, and of course, being that it was New Year's Eve, it was quite busy. So we ended up waiting close to an hour before being seated and only because we complained (twice). We were then sat in an overflow area of the restaurant that was very poorly lit. We had not been to Claim Jumpers in quite a while and after this experience, we will not be returning.
Overall we had a good dinner for family gathering. I chose CJ for prime rib, but this location unfortunately did not have prime rib all the time. I had ribeye steak instead and it was okay. The CJ portion was not as large as I remembered many years ago when CJ first started, but maybe I just got used to it.
Server was forgetful and inattentive.
Celebrate my friend's Birthday Brunch and 2 of my girls. Food was delicious. Pasta, Fresh Omelets, Rib eye, Enchiladas, bottomless Marmosa, Unlimited Salad Bar, Nachos/Taco, Pizza, kids menu and Desserts.
The ambiance it was perfect for our event.
We had an unusual experience this Thanksgiving. Although the food was delicious and our waiter did a good job, one of the staff members carrying plates with food dropped a plate right on my shoulder. She scurried away, although she did come back later to apologize. The plate hitting me was not only painful, it left food on my shoulder and down the sleeve of my white shirt. A waiter from another area showed up later with soda water and some paper napkins, saying I could use them to try to get the food off my shirt.
No manager approached to apologize or offer anything. The check came with no deductions of any kind for my experience. (Our waiter was unaware of what had happened until later.) I had to walk up to the front of the restaurant and ask for a manager. They have 2 managers, and although they were aware of what had happened to me, each decided the other was handling it. They did, at the end, comp only my meal and gave me a Claim Jumper T shirt. Since I wasn't the one paying for the meal (a party of 7), it really didn't do anything for me personally. Too little too late.
I’m not sure if my standards have gone up or if Claim Jumper has gone downmarket, but I remember this place being pretty good. We went today for thanksgiving. It started with them telling us our reservation was for 1, not 1:30 like we thought. I checked the app and 1:30 was correct. Weird start. Fortunately, they still had seats.
The holiday food was cafeteria level quality. Overcooked and processed-seeming turkey, terribly sweet cranberry side, etc. The service was similarly mediocre and inattentive.
Is this why I stopped coming here?
We love Claim Jumper for Thanksgiving! The variety of available dinners is great, the food is consistently delicious, and the prices are excellent for this traditional feast. This year, however, they decided to put the cinnamon apple glaze directly onto the ham slices instead of bringing it in a small cup as they did last year. That was an unfortunate change. The glaze ran off of the ham and swam all over my mashed potatoes. I like the glaze, but not on my potatoes!! Other than that small thing, the meal was great. Our table by the large fireplace was wonderful on the rainy day. And our server was excellent -- she was attentive and got everything right. I highly recommend Claim Jumper Monrovia. Just remember to ask for the glaze to come "on the side". {:>)
Outstanding food and service!!!
Claim Jumper Monrovia is a great dining experience. We about 10 minutes late for our reservation. They said "no problem" and sat us right away into a roomy & comfortable booth. The server was attentive & very funny. We actually stayed at our table longer than we needed to as we engaged in conversation with her. The food is always good & the menu offers something for everyone. It's my go to restaurant for birthday celebrations.
Service was the best. Kudos to Juan, Vinnie and Guierrmo. An abundance of food .
Claim Jumper was just "okay". When we checked in for our reservation and I mentioned that it was made through Open Table, the young man told me that they don't recognize reservations made through Open Table. Interesting, and lucky that they did have a table available for us. The server seemed very busy and was in a hurry to take orders. Even brought us another loaf of bread stating "because your wife ordered this". when, in fact, I had not and we all 3 were aware. Food was okay, but nothing that I would need to return for.
