Afternoon tea was delicious. The right amount, we managed it all ! The lounge was delightful. Service was just lovely attentive but not over fussy and she said it had been her first day! Very professional, keep her !

Delicious smoked haddock risotto followed by apple and blackberry crumble. All piping hot and beautifully presented. Will definitely return.

The Sunday lunch was tasty but small in portion (especially the main course). If a menu states sprouts and roast potatoes I would expect more than 1 small potato and 1.5 sprouts (pan fried so like a bullet). The vegetable puree was no more than 1 tsp in size, and needed to scrape the plate to find the chestnuts. Would need to eat 3 courses to feel remotely full.

Welcomed at the door. Checked on regularly. Never waited long for our afternoon tea. Definitely be back.

Perfect in every way. We chose this for a special afternoon tea celebration for a birthday. Everything about the experience was exceptional. The food was wonderful, there was an excellent choice of teas to accompany the food and the service was attentive but discreet. We were not rushed at all and I would highly recommend Cedar Lodge.

Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Food was fresh but could maybe do with more variety cake wise as was all very similar fruit cakes. Staff were attentive when needed but could have been more visual. Would highly recommend though.

Excellent restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Although we enjoyed the afternoon tea we weren't asked what type of bread we preferred so got white and brown and would have preferred brown. Had to knock at kitchen door to get waitress attention to refill our teapot. Had to knock again to request our bill. We were asked if we would like a box! If they had looked they could see there was nothing left. Need improvement on service skills.

This was a fourth visit to Clare House and we brought along our good friends. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday and we enjoyed sitting outside. We all had the ribeye steak and found it a little chewy, also the food was not hot, however we still enjoyed the ambience, the service and the majority of the courses.

Always a pleasure to eat here. The perfect venue for a light lunch with friends in relaxing surroundings. Never rushed. A little gem.

Beautiful house set in lovely grounds. Afternoon tea was great and the sandwiches were freshly made on arrival. When the weather is warmer it would be lovely to sit outside as the views are really good overlooking the bay

Booked afternoon tea for my mum's Birthday. Had a wonderful time in a very relaxed atmosphere. Food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely return again in the future.

From the moment you arrive you know that everything is going to be 'just right'. The staff are efficient, attentive, professional and thoroughly nice people. The setting and décor is spot on and the tables are far enough apart for privacy whilst still retaining an aura of atmosphere. The food is well cooked and presented and delicious. Couldn't fault it. Well done Clare House - you've got it right!

The food was very good and there was lots of it. All the courses had plenty of choice and there was a good selection of cheese on the cheese board. The wine list was a bit limited, with only one rose on the list. There could have been a bit more ambiance as there was no background music at all. The staff were very friendly but needed more training on what was on the menu and the wine list. Also, I have never seen a table being set for breakfast the following morning before the dirty glasses and crockery had been removed from the dinner serving and without the top cloth being changed. Also a bit odd to hoover up a spillage of cheese when there were still diners at the tables.

Great food and presentation. Enjoyed our meal and loved the views from the lounge. Staff were friendly and professional. First visit, we'll definitely be back!

Food of a very high standard and portions very adequate for lunch and not over-facing. Will certainly visit again.

The quality of food and service was excellent. This was a special meal for our 40th wedding anniversary and could not fault anything. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

We were warmly received, the service was very friendly and the food was of high quality. The only downside - we should have paid an extra couple of pounds for the wine as the cheapest rose was well below the standard we expected.
