Located in a former auto shop in the vibrant Montrose neighborhood near The Menil Collection and Museum District, Clark’s Houston is the third and largest location of our popular neighborhood oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Opened in Fall 2023, Clark’s features freshly shucked oysters, crudo, lobster roll, daily fish specials, caviar and blini, bowls of chowder and cioppino as well as a much-loved burger and shoestring fries.

The restaurant specializes in martinis and signature cocktails as well as an extensive Champagne and wine list. The design is light, bright, and airy with nautically-themed touches including a centerpiece fish tank, teak wood furniture, bright white walls, and blue and turquoise tones.

In addition to a marble-topped oyster bar and dining room, there’s a large, covered patio for prime people watching and oyster slurping. Clark’s Houston also offers a semi-private dining room for special occasions and events.

Excellent service. Top quality food. They removed my favorite drink, the Mai Tai, from the menu, but they still were able to make it. Put it back on the menu!

A long time patron of Clark’s in Austin, and the Houston location was even better. Our server Gigi was terrific, attentive but not obtrusive, and gave great recommendations on wine and food. The oysters and tuna carpaccio were excellent. So too the catch of the day Barzino (sp?). The almond desert was over the top. We stayed a long time and were never rushed. The manager also stopped by for a pleasant chat which we appreciated as all the staff were fun. Would highly recommend!

Menu is limited and atmosphere is comfortable, relaxing, and easy on the eyes. I would return to have the crispy red snapper but the lobster roll should be a salad! The French fries were only shoestring potatoes but the slaw was good.

This is one of the nicest-looking ex-gas stations you will ever dine in. Big investment in brick and mortar pares well with upscale seafood offerings. Expect high quality food at a price (e.g., $40 for a lobster roll). Place was half-full for lunch, but we could hardly manage a conversation due to noise level. We look forward to trying again when the weather will permit taking advantage of ample outdoor seating.
