Claude Bosi at Bibendum
The a la carte menu features some of his signature classics and the chef’s Michelin-starred alma matter, with ingredients sourced predominantly from the British Isles and France. The striking upstairs dining room with its dramatic and iconic floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows has been redesigned to house a larger central open kitchen. The light and airy dining room will feature the original Conran chairs with a soft colour palate of muted blues.

Beautiful building. Food was good, especially the quantity of the cooking of our fish course
Very good amazing food and service
2 stars michelin at least
My mother’s birthday was great with and their pastry chef added a nice touch
Stunning food and impressive wine list. One of London’s finest.
We've recently been to many michelin starred restaurants, most of them were massive let downs. Claude Bosi was an exception with incredible yet innovative dishes.
If you are looking for a creative yet classic french meal, then go straight here!
We went for the first time on Saturday and the whole experience went above and beyond what we ever expected.
The food was out of this world! We had the seasonal taster menu and enjoyed every bite, even aspects I would never think to order. The staff couldn’t do enough for you. They were welcoming, fun, informative and happy to answer any question. The atmosphere in the invite is luxurious with a relaxed feel. You are surrounded by classic Michelin man posters and magnificent shined glass that changes the rooms atmosphere as you enjoy course after course.
I would recommend this place in a heart beat.
I booked a table for Saturday lunch. However, I felt I had some flu symptoms when I woke up in the morning. I did not want to go out on today because I wanted to get confirmed that I was negative for COVID Test. Then, I called to the restaurant and explained my situation, but the lady who took my call said NO, and I will be charged £250(£125 each) because of the no-show. Okay, then I said, please transfer me to the manager. I told my situation to the manager again, and I insisted claiming that I did not feel well but the manager attitude was so bad and kept saying ‘no and we will charge you £250 even you postpone the reservation we will charge you £250 right now
Ok, I felt I was threatened and I couldn’t control myself to not cry. I already felt physically so unwell because of the symptoms but I still had to argue with them about those stupid policies.
And thanks for educating me ‘everywhere has rules, hotels have rules, restaurants have rules..’ I also had a reservation with The Ritz in the evening but they accepted my cancellation when I explained my situation.
Eventually, my boyfriend went to the restaurant instead of me - I didn’t want to put other guests at risk just because of this stupid policy.
Thank you very much for letting me cry again. This is such a wonderful experience ever in my life. I will never forget this great moment with Claude Bosi at Bibendum, which considers their profit and Michelin pride are much more important than customers’ welfare. I will definitely ‘recommend’ this restaurant to all my friends and GOV.UK for behaving unfairly during the COVID-19.
Plus, today(12/09/2021) I got several PCR Test for myself, and it shows positive on one of them, which means guests who had lunch with my boyfriend have risk of getting affected. I hope anyone who had lunch on 11/09/2021 please do a PCR Test if you see this review.
Outstanding from start to finish. Friendly staff in a lovely bright dining room with clear double doors onto the kitchen. Food was sensational - not a single bad dish. Highlights were the pre-starter with cauliflower ice-cream and the turbot a la Grenobloise. At the end we were shown into the kitchen and got to meet Claude Bosi, who was extremely pleasant
The food and the experience were amazing. Very good service and a reasonable price.
The only thing I would have changed is the overall time the dinner took. We sat for about 3 and a half hours, which is too much for my taste. No one should be expected to eat at midnight....
The food was amazing, the flavours were so well executed. We had the tasting menu and the bibendium egg did not disappoint. The whole experience was very good. The service was relaxed and friendly and the staff were lovely. The cocktails were great. We liked being able to see the theatre of the working chefs in the kitchen. The building and all its beautiful glass was so entertaining. Overall we had a great evening. I would definitely recommend it for a special evening/event.Thank you we had a lovely time.
The food is very disappointing, salty, fish overcooked, beef chewy, the sauces and appetisers are very heavy, worst experience in London
Great day out after a visit to the V&A. Excellent service and great flavors. So intrigued by one taste that we needed to ask what it was, kaffir leaves, better named lime leaves.
Fabulous food as always! Service impeccable - friendly and efficient. One of our favourite places to eat. Yes, it’s pricy, but worth every penny!! Looking forward already to our next visit
An incredible experience. The food and service are above excellent and they catered to all my allergies without any issues. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable meal.
Lovely building and great food! Worth a treat! Went for celebratory dinner!
Really nice staff and ambiance but some of the food was slightly disappointing
Simply incredible. Should be 3 Michelin star…Stunning food. Impeccable service. Beautiful surroundings!!
We had the lunchtime menu.
The food was exceptionally good, the wine was well chosen, and the service was attentive and friendly, not fussy or stiff.
The combination makes this one of the best value deals in London.
Spectacular food, great wine pairing, very cool ambience with music in background and outstanding and friendly service. It was our fourth visit and it never disappoints.
Superb experience, could not fault food or service, and the setting remains one the most beautiful restaurants in town. Hadn’t been for over twenty years and will certainly return ASAP.
I cannot think of anywhere better to have a celebration luncheon than Claude Bosi.
The staff were all particularly engaging without being obtrusive and my wife is becoming somewhat of a bore about how much she enjoyed the occasion.
First class in all respects.
This was the BEST meal our family of four has had together in many years! Honestly, outstanding.
There is nothing at all to fault.
It was my husband's birthday, and he loved it...he loves Bibendum anyway, but I was worried they might make a fuss, which he hates...they were (as always) just polite and discreet and gave us the best food ever.
My husband and son shared the roast chicken, which they both say is better than the Waterside Inn's chicken (gasp!) And that Chef Claude Bosi came to the table to carve it was just wonderful, he was delightful.
I woke up this morning STILL thinking about last night's meal.
Really and truly incredible....they have a great team, and clearly great leadership, skills and quality - from the top down. Everything there is perfection.
Excellent food, friendly yet efficient and professional service, beautiful room. A memorable lunch experience.
Fantastic innovative food in a beautiful setting
Very special evening! Simply amazing from start to finish.
Service is great, food is superb and staffs are caring and friendly. However, I asked and they agreed in the comment and on the phone to bring the birthday cake but they forgot and my sister decided to ask for it during the bill payment. This was ashamed and it was failed me for this Michelin two star restaurant! Also, one of the table brought along a dog and I sat very close to them and the fallen hair of the dog was all over the place and the air. Should have set aside them on the corner or something. Basically, I had over expected the restaurant for this specialty occasion
And they should have done better!
Excellent fine dining experience. Food was outstanding and service faultless. Perfect outing for a special occasion.
Wonderful place and a wonderful atmosphere
Attentive (though not over-bearing) service, great food (as expected), lovely environment and accommodating kitchen. Certain to return!
Great food, amazing staff, thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Lovely restaurant with amazing food and great service. However, I found the a la carte rather limited and very much geared toward selections from the set tasting menus. This pushed up prices to quite a high level even by standard of Michelin-star restaurants.
All in all, a great experience - thank you
I took the classic menu, which stated as a course ‘turbot grenobloise ‘.
When it arrived it was obviously cod. The dish itself was flavoursome, the fish very delicate in flavour(unlike turbot, which is gelatinous and meaty) although the dish had too much sauce which masked the fish(maybe that was the point).
I enquired politely “are you sure that’s turbot” to which the front of house staff responded with “I’ll ask the chef”.
I had to ask again twice. I got the answer “the chef says it’s turbot” or “you can talk to the chef”. Did they expect me to walk into the kitchen and demand to see the contents of their fridges? Just admit you made a mistake and make it right.
I’m a chef, own a restaurant and cook turbot on my menu every day, in many different ways. I’ve also cooked a lot of cod in my time. I know the difference. It’s obvious. Yet I was told otherwise, as if telling a lie multiple times makes it true.
I then had a rabbit and langoustine dish. The rabbit lacked any seasoning, which was strange as the other dishes are rather liberal with salt. The langoustine was tiny and the dish was better placed on a lunch menu, not a £165 tasting menu.
I was then left for what seemed like an eternity with nothing in front of me and no real answer to the turbot/cod debacle. I was left maybe twenty or so minutes.
When cutlery was put down for the next dish I remarked to the waiter that I didn't wish to continue. I was livid at being lied to and couldn’t get passed that.
I was told I didn’t need to pay. I offered to pay service charge and they refused.
How many other people have they served cod to and said it was turbot? I suppose they think their customers are just plebs who can’t tell the difference. That’s a very sad state of affairs if true.
As ever, Claude Bosi’s style is hit and miss. Some dishes are delicious, some are odd and other combinations genuinely disgusting.
I’d avoid this place like the plague unless going a la carte.
A very unique special dining experience. Thank you.
Fantastic food, space & staff. Great meal.
Amazing food and service.
Excellent faultless service
Served with light humour a true delight
Made to be at home and extremely comfortable.
The food is, as you would expect brilliant
Inventive , certain dishes leaning more on a rich Lyonnaise style cuisine.
Only suggestion would be that the portions could be a tad smaller in the full tasting menu
Definitely one of the finest tables in London
Excellent staff and wonderful experience. Food was exquisitely prepared and presented. Hugely enjoyable evening.
It was our wedding anniversary so decided to have a splurge and stay somewhere nice in Belgravia. There are lots of good restaurant choices but we went for Claude Bosi and weren’t disappointed - a really magical experience with wonderful food and service.
One of the best in London. Fabulous meal and service again.
Great food and service Can highly recommend the lunch menu for value but we need to return for the taste of the season menu experience
