Claude Bosi at Bibendum
The a la carte menu features some of his signature classics and the chef’s Michelin-starred alma matter, with ingredients sourced predominantly from the British Isles and France. The striking upstairs dining room with its dramatic and iconic floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows has been redesigned to house a larger central open kitchen. The light and airy dining room will feature the original Conran chairs with a soft colour palate of muted blues.

A real gastronomic experience. Pricey but cannot fault the food or service. One of those places that need to do if you are a foodie.
We had the Taste of Season menu for my wife’s birthday and I have to say it was largely disappointing – not awful, but just nothing particularly impressive. The staff were excellent but the overall the pace of the meal was too slow – no one likes to be rushed but it was 3 hours before the last course and by then we were asking them to hurry it along out of boredom and disappointment with the food, which I don’t think I have ever had in an experience restaurant before.
The amuse-bouche were nice enough but had a mixture of hot and cold in the one dish which I’m never sure works – overall you just get lukewarm of both. The Bibendum Egg seems to be a signature dish but I have no idea why – it was nothing special, again lukewarm and didn’t particularly taste of much. The Egg at Core by Clare Smith is in a different league entirely. The Beetroot and Crab dishes were both very good, the Halibut was nice but presentation wasn’t great. The large wait to the seemingly centrepiece pigeon dish just wasn’t worth the build-up – by the time it came you were expecting something both bigger and more impressive and it was small, again lukewarm and the pasta side was extremely bland (texture was all wrong and we joked about a Bachelor's pasta in sauce). The sesame seed wrapped leg portion was actually nasty – tasted of nothing but seeds and had such little meat it appeared more like a decoration than part of the meal.
The desserts were genuinely disappointing and as previously stated we just wanted to get the bill and finish by the end – we took one mouthful of the last course white squishy thing and left it at that.
So overall I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for an experience meal – if you can get into Core you would be astonished in comparison to this.
Excellence from start to finish, superb food and friendly and knowledgeable service - it was an evening we were so looking forward to that comfortably exceeded my expectations - thank you!
The staff was tremendous - front of house and back of house. We had primo seats and could watch the theatre of the kitchen - standing ovation. The space was incredible. The delicious bites of food were even more incredible. I had the vegetarian tasting menu, but tasted my husbands non-veg tasting too. It was remarkable how they could transform the veg dishes to resemble the regular tasting menu. The wine pairing was great and delightful to taste things from around the world. They deserve their 3 stars.
A fabulous experience from start to finish friendly attentive waiters there when you want them and gone when you don’t ! Food is just exceptional every mouthful just divine. Second time we have been there and will go again in 3 months when menu changes.
Oysters delicious. Sone dishes excellent, some a bit less to our taste. Service was patchy. We waited quite long between a few of our courses. But great place and sweet staff.
Incredible cooking, beautiful dining room and perfect service
The course was amazing, divine, and very delicate. However a bit difficult to follow and appreciate the food. feels like they were a bit in a hurry to give us the next course. overall, I'm willing to visit again for their food. :))
Excellent! A little too dependent on onion flavorings for the vegetarian menu, but otherwise delicious!
The service was excellent the pricing was clear, the food was surprising and excellent.
I am a longstanding fan of Mr Bosi, having visited his previous restaurant Hibiscus on several occasions and following his online masterclassses. This visit to Bibendum didn't disappoint dedpite sky high expectations. One of the best Chefs in London.
Great service and food was as expected. Nothing was too much for the staff who were friendly, attentive, not over hovering and engaged in good chat.
This is among the five best restaurants in London: food superb, service exemplary and generous table spacing. I had a wonderful birthday!
Service was impeccable and food was exquisite. Ambience was lovely - and an interesting building history. So very well suited to a restaurant. Try a glass of Vermouth - a lovely though expensive treat.
First class food which really pushed the boundaries in terms of flavour and presentation. Immaculate and charming service and we were even invited into the kitchen to meet Claude Bosi himself which was a nice touch! All in an iconic building. Two very happy customers.
As usual superb
We had a truly wonderful night at Bibendum, great food, service and hospitality. Fantastic, a top class fine dinning experience for my wife, son, daughter and I, we were shown the VIP treatment. And to meet and chat to chef Claude Bosi, in his out of this world kitchen, was a touch class and a memory that will last.
Excellent ambience, service and quality of food.
Staff were relaxed and professional, attentive and knowledgeable.
Overall a fantastic experience
Top quality meal with great ingredients and good variety. Excellent wine accompaniment and service.
If you want somewhere really posh with amazing food and cracking service, this is the place.
France in London in an extraordinary building. All the inventiveness, depth of flavour, technique, perfect pacing of the courses and superlative French service to be expected of a Michelin 2*.
Amazing service and some of the best food we‘ve ever eaten! Wouldn’t be surprised if this becomes a 3 Michelin star restaurant very soon.
Cannot praise highly enough. Truly epic restaurant. Excellent food supported by amazing front of house service, in a wonderful environment. Loved every second.
Fantastic hope Claude gets three soon
Food and service were impeccable.
Lovely day would definitely go back. Great to see Claude in the kitchen
The staff was exceptionally nice.
The setting was nice.
The food though... we felt that everything was a little off. With too many things being a mousse or a gelée.
We haven’t done many ‘grands restaurant’ but this is the first time we were disappointed.
The overall experience was fantastic
Une expérience culinaire incroyable , proche de la perfection
Absolutely wonderful evening superb food and very friendly attentive staff
The food was fantastic, highly recommend!
Thank you for your amazing hospitality
Amazing food, a true 2 star - and when in the amazing art deco Michelin building, it really doesn't get much better - best turbot, ever and the turbut cheek terrine, sublime! Caviar dish and choc soufflee very, very good and superbly presented!
- Weird background music i.e Guns & Roses
- Toilets of very poor standard
- maybe a better venue for lunch (nice bright room)
Pitch perfect food and excellent service. The duck jelly is perhaps the most beautiful dish you’ll see on a plate. We were recommended a Canadian Chardonnay and it proved to be sneaky-good. The rabbit and langoustine combines the intensely savoury and sweet salinity in a novel way. If chocolate is your vice then don’t hesitate to plump for the soufflé: it shouldn’t be possible for anything to be simultaneously so intensely Chocolate-y and so ethereally textured; yet it is.
Exquisite food, beautiful presented. Stunning environment.
Perfect experience in every way, faultless, memorable
Wow,what a treat, what an experience! A fantastic night out for my boyfriends birthday, definitely a night not to be forgotten. The ambience was wonderful, the food sublime. Yes, it's expensive but this is a 2 Michelin starred restaurant! The staff were relaxed, efficient and really made the whole evening superb - thank you.
