Chef Carlos and our host Bradley were a pleasure to chat with! They each spent time filing is in on the restaurant, the Inn a d of course the town.
Our meal was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting.
Our group and all but one group that came while we ate was not seated outside despite requesting it. The staff was rude and not apologetic for not seating us outside as requested and then making us change tables once inside.
The food was okay but the entire experience was less than stellar based on the poor service. The Bloody Mary was completely unpalatable, cold Campbell’s soup would have been 10x better. Our waiter was kinder by the end of the meal but overall a very disappointing experience. Other patrons seemed to be on the same page.
It was late afternoon on a Saturday, stopped in for some lunch and we had our choice of where to sit. Server was knowledgeable and friendly.
The restaurant was abandoned when we arrived. We had to seek out seating assistance from the bartender. His service, however, was excellent. The food was plebian and did not live up to the ratings.
Claude's was a great post fourth of July dinner, intimate setting + great staff! Perfect for quiet dinners with your favorite people.
Basement space - not conducive to a relaxed dinner. Our waiter was good but the rest of the staff were non existent. The person who took us to our table refused to take my name for the reservation and I got a "no show" from Open Table. Food was so so and not worth the price. I would not return.
This is a hidden gem. Not sure why it is not more popular. Food choices are limited but everything we ever had here was very good. Service is warm and welcoming. Prices are reasonable for Southampton. Indoor dining is very pretty and outdoor dining is relaxing and refreshing. We will definitely return but hope to see a few more diners join us!!!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. The restaurant was nearly empty but we were given horrible service—no one came by, we have to chase people down for help, and the food was below average. I would not recommend or return.
The service and food were phenomenal! The courtyard was beautifully lit and landscaped; and provided a wonderful experience. We were celebrating graduations and the chef gifted the two graduates with (delicious) desserts. The Sea bass special with mango salsa, lobster tail (special order) penne, buffalo chicken cheddar bites, halibut dumplings, fish tacos, and desserts were excellent! We will absolutely be back!
There was no reason to make a reservation.. no one was there to greet you .. you could just sit anywhere
June 15. A bit windy for sitting outside (although quite pretty in courtyard) so we were in Claude’s restaurant. Lovely ambiance. Gracious elegant service (staff is South African). Great drinks. Delicious food. Awesome deserts (profiterole smothered in a chocolate). Best part is that you can talk, hear, be heard. Quite an elegant and comfortable (and delicious) new eatery. Prices quite reasonable also!
We loved our dining experience at Claude’s! Food was delicious and portions were plentiful. Such attention to detail for example - butter churned each morning with sea salt and olive oil. Yum with the warm bread!! We also loved our server Claudia. She was lovely, explained specials and was attentive at all the right times!
Zero atmosphere. Food is ok but nothing to write home about. We wanted to give it a try but were underwhelmed.

I had a wonderful time at Claudes. Although I dined alone, they made me feel so welcomed. yes the day of the BBQ of memorial day breakfast was hectic but the staff was doing everything to accommodate everyone. Special thanks to Devan and Claudia. I loved it there. food, service, ambiance was all great and the staff so accommodating. exceptional!!

Amazing dinner last Saturday night. We had the restaurant almost just for ourselves.
Our waitress was really nice and helpful, she offered to taste 2 different wines before choosing, she arranged the appetizer as I have gluten intolerance to make it as tasty as the original one.
We had the $30 prix fixe menu: the appetizers and entrees were outstanding (we had the salmon and the steak, cooked to perfection). The dessert wasn't as wonderful as expected but still very good.
We were so please with the dinner that we had brunch there the morning after: same atmosphere, casual and sophisticated, a pianist was there until 2pm playing soft jazz music. The food wasn't as tasty and generous as the dinner though.
I would definitely recommend the prix fixe dinner then, a rare value-quality offer in Southampton!
I was really disappointed with Claude’s. I had read such great reviews and booked a group Sunday brunch for 7. We were the ONLY people seated for brunch. I think our waiter was still training/learning and he really was trying his best to accommodate our group. The part that was completely frustrating was that there were 2 managers sitting around doing nothing to help. Our coffee came out almost after our meal. We were told the omelette of the day was mushroom and Swiss cheese but when it came out, it was ham and cheddar cheese- not great for the vegetarian in our group that ordered it. 2 of us ordered the same dish - one came with toast and one didn’t. At that point, we didn’t want to overwhelm the waiter anymore, so we just ate quickly and left. To the management - stop socializing and pay attention to your staff and customers. We were the only people there and now I know why.
We tried Claude’s during East End Restaurant Week. We had an early reservation so the restaurant wasn’t crowded when we arrived. Despite this, the service was very very slow. I don’t like to be rushed but the wait time between courses and to get our check was unusually long. The food was delicious when it finally arrived. If they improved the service, we would go back for the food. The flounder and chicken dishes were particularly good.
The restaurant is beautiful and I loved the ambiance. It was restaurant week, food was mostly good, I question some of the combinations, service was challenging but made up for by the maitre'd and bartender. I'd go back and give it a second try.
My daughter and I visited during Restaurant Week and found the Prix Fixe menu adequate. Although my Squash soup could have been creamier, the remainder of the meal was excellent. Our hangar steak was well prepared and the roasted vegetables seasoned well and quite delicious.

After living in Southampton for 12 years Claude’s was like discovering gold!
The food was spectacular. Oysters and lobster bisque for starters. Muscovy duck with perfectly cooked vegetables. And red velvet cake and a molten chocolate cake for dessert. It was prix fixe at $30 for the three courses! Nice wine list also. We will return
This place has a problem...it is in the basement of a hotel that is outside the central Southampton Village core (lousy location), the hotel is very understated, and the restaurant itself is completely devoid of ambiance, and thus devoid of customers. On a Saturday night, there were only two parties there the whole night.
We decided to risk eating at such a deserted-looking place, and the meal itself was fine. Food was fresh, preparation was fine and presentation was fine, service was polite and well timed. The whole problem is that despite some advertising in the local paper, the place has zero reputation and zero awareness. It cannot survive in this state. There was a piano on a stage, but if no one was playing on Saturday night, when would they? Can't recommend this place.

We went to Claude's during Long Island Restaurant Week and we were very happy with our meal. The restaurant is very pretty and it's a great spot for some quiet conversation. The salmon was delicious and we look forward to another meal there soon.
I had no idea that Southampton Inn even had a restaurant, let alone outstanding food. We had an even nicer treat when a well regarded pianist put on an ad lib show during our meal. It's a secret worth spreading.
Claude’s is such a beautiful restaurant! We were seated quickly and the setting was intimate, cozy, and modern. My pumpkin gnocchi was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time! We will definitely be coming back here.
The help seemed very confused & discombobulated! Service was poor.Appetizers were good .Main courses fair .My husband’s pasta special was too spicy hot to eat .Waitress should have mentioned that when describing dish. He couldn’t eat & we were charged anyway ! Desserts were major disappointment. Carrot cake is one of my favorite desserts - this came out hard & like it was defrosted & not good ,Apple crisp bad . Would not go back here!!!!
We waited a 1/2 hour after we were seated before someone came over to take our order. We signaled the server several times trying to get his attention, but there was a large group in the meeting room and the staff all seemed to be preoccupied with them. We also had to ask three times to have our coffee cups refilled. I finally complained to the manager and still it took another few minutes before we got our refills.
This was miserable. You, OpenTable, advertised this as a public restaurant, and it most definitely is not. This is inside a hotel and you can barely find the place. The servers had no idea that someone could make a reservation, let alone one on OpenTable. It took forever for us to have our order taken and to just get some water. The food took so long to get, and one person at our table didn't get their food till 5 full minutes after everyone else got their food! I had to go up to the counter to refill my own coffee. At the end of the meal I had to search to find the waiter to pay our bill. This was supposed to be the brunch to end my best friend's bachelorette weekend and what a truly miserable way to end the weekend.
Very good food. Not crowded. Looks like no one knows it is open this time of year.

this is my second time at Claude's and it was even better than I remembered.
The food was terrific. All four of us raved. We had fluke special, mussels and halibut. Salads and crabcakrs for starters were also exceptional. Michael our waiter was excellent. Great time.
It is a great find. Food is very good. Well presented and tasty. Atmosphere is more casual outside and more formal inside but both are delightful. Service is very accommodating and attentive. A very enjoyable experience.
Sort of feels like the cafeteria at camp, but with much more expensive food. Servers are very friendly and sweet, but impossible to flag down, and food is mediocre at best. Had really hoped for better given the other reviews.
