Had the Sunday bottomless brunch experience and it was great. Only reason for the 4* is for the lack of vegetarian options :(
First ever brunch here and I throughly enjoyed it ! Our waiter was sooo attentive and lovely , we were never short a drink continuously being topped up and never rushed off our table so relaxing! Everyone around us was clearly having a great time too! Besides all of that, our food was also to die for Won’t be our last visit!!!
Great food and super value for early bird. Very enjoyable
Disappointing. Initially did not have reservation. Music too loud even though we complained. Much better options in Dublin at the moment.
Poor service. The staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere but there. Served cold mussels with my main dish. Side dishes were slow to arrive, had to ask for one that was left sitting on the bar. Friday night and the place was near empty and quiet, no atmosphere. Won’t be back.
I brought my partner for his birthday. The food was great and the service was brilliant. Very friendly.
Three of us had a booking on Saturday night at 8.30pm. The venue was very quiet, not much atmosphere.
My starter of pork belly was enjoyable and tasty however my friends pork belly main course was disappointing ( portion size and syrupy sauce). My own main course of rib-eye steak was served tepid/almost cold, the garlic butter placed on top didn't even melt. My other friend wasn't happy with her fish mains either. We were offered a free desert each or a glass of wine, which we availed of. The waitress was lovely and couldn't apologize enough but I'm afraid we won't be returning again.
Opted to go for the surprise tasting menu and what to say, it was one of the best meals that both of us had. I was here 2 years ago and it was similar experience so wanted to come back.Definitely will be back again soon as it was a really good experience.
Lovely space and great location but not the most enjoyable lunch. We had not realised that it catered to big parties for bottomless brunch on Saturday. The restaurant was full but all big tables with a rapid turnover and the music was very loud. We were only a party of two and we not the target clientele so we selected badly. Food was good. Would not recommend for a long chatty lunch.
Great experience, food was delicious!
one of my favorites everytime I go to Dublin delicious food and cool atmosphere!
Ambiance garantie dans ce restaurant de Temple Bar,
Les associations de nourriture dans les plats sont assez spéciales pour nos palais de français mais tout était très bon,
Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir une serveuse qui parlait français, c'était super
No record of our open table booking, they said they could squeeze us in but would need the table back in 2 hours. Funny part of that was, the place was virtually empty. 3-4 other tables seated and 8-10 empty. Whatever.... food was well cooked but boring. None of us were impressed. Service was good but not worth the effort to go back. So many other choices in Dublin.
I loved the food, many choices, generous starters, attentive service, good atmosphere. The wine was expensive for little choice in it
Great place, a little under staffed. But try the fries!
Really bad service and average food at best. Had to ask for drinks multiple times and food was cold.
Food was good. There was confusion with the booking but they sorted it out quickly. Restaurant was very busy so there's was a considerable wait for menus etc. Have dined here before and will come back
It just was not that great an experience and I don't expect to go back again. The decor of the place was pretty grim, dull and unappealing. The food was nothing special. Service was initially very slow at the bar where we stopped for a cocktail before dinner, but improved when we were seated. The wine selection was also similarly unimpressive. I cant think of any reason I would go back again when there are so many other great choices in the vicinity.
Ceviche of Monkfish was lukewarm . Also neither salty nor sour enough to match what’s a normal ceviche. As a dining companion said, the 3 bits of monkfish looked like burst condoms.
Main of lamb rump was fine. So-called baby potatoes were cold
Cannot vault this place, food was delicious and staff attentive.. we will return
Heerlijk gegeten, echt een aanrader!
The overall experience was good. The previous time prior to this visit was great as the group was sat downstairs and this time we were placed upstairs which I found that there was less atmosphere and were forgotten about. The table sat down after us were served food before us even with them being a bigger party. The food was amazing and one of the servers had noticed the kitchen mix up and did give us a compliment desert for the mix up which was nice.
Went for a pre theatre menu before a show in the Olympia. Service was quick and food was very tasty. Good value for money. Not much atmosphere early in the evening but didn’t bother us. Would definitely go back.
Nicely located restaurant in Dublin, just up from Temple Bar, nice gastro style food, friendly staff.
Myself and my best friend enjoyed a very chilled Saturday brunch. The food was fantastic. We tried the two course with bottomless Bellinis and loved it. Our waitresses were most helpful and attentive. We had a quiet drink after brunch at the bar. The decor is fantastic and even though there were two hen parties present we didn’t feel intruded on and didn’t notice any excessive noise. I highly recommend brunch, lunch and dinner here.
Took my boyfriend for dinner here for his birthday and it was absolutely gorgeous. The food was gorgeous and the staff were lovely. I had asked for a birthday plate and I think what might have been a manager had absolutely no problem accommodating me and I couldn’t appreciate it more. Overall would highly recommend
We’ve been to Cleaver East numerous times and have always found the overall experience to be amazing. Service and food are always spot on and my husband loves the #pornburgers. We’ll be back next time we’re in Dublin.
The meal, while fair, was slightly over priced for the quality of the meat and fish provided. Also, service left a lot to be desired, for instance the wrong order was brought to the table for several of our party members, as well as no server returning to the table throughout the meal, no water being provided when the jug was empty despite the warm weather, etc.
We were told we were not allowed to wait until after we received our starters to decide on our mains. Rudely. The manager explained patronizingly that tables were scheduled for two-hour cycles as the reason. We assured him we would be done within that window. What restaurant speaks to patrons this way? And as if we did not understand the restaurant business model! As it turned out, it was the fault of the kitchen being extremely slow, as well as the service. Very unprofessional in treatment and management style....we will not return.
Early bird was lovely! Nice selection of wines
We had brunch on saturday in Cleaver East, everything was great, Marina looked after us and she was fantastic, great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere!!
We were two old friends and long time u2 fans visiting Dublin for the first time to see The National play at Donnybrook stadium. Missed our booking but were seated later anyway and able to fulfil a special part of our visit! Staff were fantastic and food was great - thoroughly enjoyed it - great ambience and quality was evident in every element. Great and memorable part of our weekend!
We booked this restaurant for a meal for my daughters 21st birthday because my husband and myself had been there before for brunch and really enjoyed it. It was our daughters first time and she loved it and said she would definitely come back for brunch with her friends. The staff were really friendly and the early bird menu is great value with lots of options. My husband and myself will definitely be returning soon 😊
Excellent food. Nice surroundings. Early bird good value and staff very friendly
Went with a group of friends late on a Saturday evening. We were delighted to be able to get a table at short notice. Three of us ordered starters to share between us, two had steaks (excellent) and the rest had the #pornburger of that week. All the food was great and the wine was lovely as well. Staff were pleasant and we all enjoyed the evening.
we had a very nice and relaxing evening meal (early bird) in Cleaver East last weekend as a family gathering. It was about my forth time there. The service and staff were excellent , friendly, courteous and not overly imposing. It got even better when the food was served!! It was remarkable - absolutely delicious. Each dish was so well presented and each tasted amazing....we kept wanting each other to share the experiences of tastes and flavors ! Excellent value for money - top notch and very reasonable prices. well done to one and all. thank you so much...we'll be back for sure.
I've eaten at cleaver east three times now and have always been really happy with the food. However, each time I've eaten there, I've been overcharged. I always check the bills when I eat out and thankfully, this is always resolved without too much inconvenience but it's getting to the point that it's becoming slightly annoying! I'll definitely eat there again, but I guess it's just something to watch out for?
I checked up the menu before I went to the restaurant. I saw the monkfish tacos and immediately knew that I would order them. In my head I imagined delicious succulent chunks of monkfish. Unfortunately, the monkfish is a glorified fish finger. Coated in breadcrumbs & deep fried. It could literally be any fish. So unfortunate for such a nice high end restaurant.
Lots of positives though, the staff are wonderful & attentive. The ambience is great!! Really airy space.
However, I’m still disappointed about those monkfish tacos :-(
Absolutely amazing time, I've been before , but this time I brought a friend for a treat and it was oh so glorious. SO SO glorious. From the ambiance, the food and don't get me started on the bottomless mimosas and bellinis. Well worth the money, I am not going to stop encouraging people to try Cleaver East's twist on comfort food. Crab cakes are my go to brunch starter (if the place has them)... but Cleaver East's twist with crab sliders with that hint of spice that lightly dances on the tongue is oh so mighty and fine. The main course of chicken and waffles with the crispiest bacon I've ever had. EVER. (My compliments to the chef) What a beautiful recreation of the American classic. And finally those profiteroles with the hazel nut ice cream. Oh lordy mama, I, like many people tend to refuse desert for multiple reasons. Whether it be being too full (which I was), running late (which I was) or not wanting to spend the extra money cause you already spent more than you thought (which I kinda did..). BUT OH SWEET MARY MOTHER OF GOD. I would go to Cleaver East just for dessert . It was simple yet elegant.
In summary, go to this brunch place. Whether its the 20 euro (ish) for the bottomless mimosas or 38 I think it was for the bottomless mimosas with a starter and a main (per person). Or if you're willing to try something familiar with a twist. I cannot recommend further, myself and my "date" had the best time possible. Will be returning soon. Like tomorrow if I wasn't working... some other time will have to do.
just average. Food ok, returned a mojito as was far too sweet to drink - I was offered a replacement no problem.
