As we are a very small restaurant, we will need your table back after 1 hour and 30 minutes at lunch and 1 hour 45 minutes in the evening, which will be ample time to enjoy what we offer. Should you require a little longer or it’s a special occasion, may we cheekily suggest Portland (!) just around the corner…
Please note: for bookings of more than 8 guests, we offer a 3 course reduced menu. This is £26 at lunchtime or £45 at dinner.
We offer three different seating options: our tables, stools at our window counter or - weather permitting - bench seats at our larger outdoor communal tables.
Please be aware: Outdoor tables are available only if the weather permits. We may not have an alternative table available inside in some instances.
Excellent service with beautifully prepared and presented food. Interesting wine list with great variety.
All round very special lunch.
A good buzz in the room which still allowed easy quiet conversation. Menu exciting and food delicious. Very good wine selection and particularly loved the sensible prices structure which makes it easy to drink by the glass without paying a premium.
Had dinner at Clipstone for the first time. Lovely restaurant, very attentive staff and marvellous food.
Server was a bit nervous.
Food was great.
Little bit cold but the room soon warmed up.
Will definitely return.
Good food, inventive but not challenging. Really great service- lovely staff. And such good wines!!
Exquisite food I would absolutely recommend this lovely restaurant. The cod was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had. Also recommend the kohlrabi starter for light and delicious flavours and the fried chicken for a crispy treat. We will absolutely be returning.
Everything was amazing. The atmosphere was casual and festive, the service relaxed and gracious, and the foot was perfection. The cooking is masterful and unpretentious, and everything we ordered was delicious.
The food was excellent as always but there was a mix up over my friend's starter - they brought the wrong dish. However it was resolved efficiently and the rest of the meal went without a hitch.
The food was excellent and freshly made. It was nice to enjoy such high class food in a casual atmosphere. The service was very attentive.
The only downside was the noise levels - it’s difficult to have a quiet conversation.
Service was slow and it was loud. But it was busy which is great and the food as always was terrific.
Food was absolutely superb. Wine selection offered everything from cheap tap wine to decent Barberas but all was thought out and well chosen. Casual ambience but the food was definitely the star.
Love Clipstone- sublime cooking and taking the freshest ingredients and turning into something extraordinary. The highlight of the evening was the radishes with anchovy cream...
This was about eh 5th time I've been to Slipstone and I have really enjoyed every visit. The food is inventive and delicious and the staff are just brilliant.
Loved this place. It’s a relaxed, calm restaurant with a very good level of service which was efficient but not rushed.
The food is great, really tasty and you can tell they care about the quality.
Would have been nice to have some wine as the selection looked great but it was one of these sensible days.
Definitely will be going back
Deliciousnfood. Creative but not too out there. Really fresh ingredients.
true to form , great in all respects
Delish food as always, good wine and atmosphere. Perfect to a catch up night with friends
I loved it! Brilliant food, good service, not pretentious at all.
Food was fantastic, really tasty, well presented, good sizes. Product was high quality. Ambience is relaxed and nicely decorated. A must try in Fitzrovia.
Excellent food and lovely staff. A marvellous lunch.
Food was exceptional and such great value.
The atmosphere is casual but the food is very special – which is my favourite kind of restaurant. I've been there for lunch with friends twice and each time the food has (pleasantly) interrupted our conversation. It's a cut above. And of course, like all great restaurants, the menu is small but that just means it's all fresh, good and inventive. If I had a criticism, it's that some of the tables for two are a little close together, but space is limited. If you're offered one of those, I'd opt instead for the stools looking out onto the street – great for people watching. I'll go back.
Great food, non fussy environment, perfect
It’s OK but nothing great-we were sat cheek-by-jowl with another couple-the entrees were good, the pork in the main dish was lukewarm
Lovely birthday lunch, we had the very reasonably priced set menu. Excellent food and flavours, with enough veggie choice. Fish was a key stand out. Service was impeccable. Not to mention the most delicious apricot and thyme martini. Couldn’t recommend more
Service was swift and discreet. Food was outstanding.
Clipstone always delivered - the food was delicious. I'd like them to have some more interesting non-alcoholic drinks - ginger beer was fine but I'm sure a couple of options to match the food could be created.
Perfectly balanced delicious luncheon, portion size perfect for me did not need sides.
The food is amazing.. good quality and executed well. Service was good too. Refilled wine glasses when empty. Totally would recommend my foodie friends
The food at Clipstone is just excellent. Interesting combinations, super fresh ingredients, lovely preparation and presentation. Compact and very interesting wine list, with plenty of very nice options at reasonable prices. And the best thing about the wine list: every single wine is available by glass, carafe or full bottle...I've never seen that before, and it's brilliant, allows for mixing and matching different dishes for different people at the table. On the mild downside, the service was a bit rushed, and we felt the wait staff were pushing us along a bit, when we wanted to relax and enjoy. Also not great, the place is pretty noisy, lots of loud people packed into a fairly small space. But, oh, the food and the wine!
The only downside of this place was it got quite noisy, so hard to hear others at the table
Very good restaurant, tasty food, the service ai nice. And also a very minimal, Nordic design.
Delicious food particularly recommend the brill which is beautifully presented and the ravioli which is amazing. We ordered both the chocolate delice and the blackberry sorbet for pudding and both were out of this world! Lovely helpful staff generally a great atmosphere would absolutely recommend.
Nadine, Freddie, Danni and Claudia, as usual gave us impeccable service. Anchovy cream, fennel tempura and pasta all to die for. But then came the chocolate delice (and we needed to be resurrected). It was the best desert ever.
Special shout out for the Tom Collins & the Champagne cocktail. Both excellent. This restaurant never fails to deliver with its service or food. 5*.
N.b. Im not a fan of the new outdoor seating. Too cramped.
But that’s the only complaint. Love this place.
Good service, nice staff. Impressive food and a solid wine list.
Wow - fabulous food - chose the restaurant based on location but what a wonderful surprise. Yummy!
Second visit to Clipstone was as good as the first back in May. The bread in particular is outstanding! Good value set lunch menu, very attentive service, quite noisy, but that adds to the atmosphere maybe.
Looking forward to another visit. Thank you.
Excellent food and sympathic ambiance ! It was a very nice moment.
