As we are a very small restaurant, we will need your table back after 1 hour and 30 minutes at lunch and 1 hour 45 minutes in the evening, which will be ample time to enjoy what we offer. Should you require a little longer or it’s a special occasion, may we cheekily suggest Portland (!) just around the corner…
Please note: for bookings of more than 8 guests, we offer a 3 course reduced menu. This is £26 at lunchtime or £45 at dinner.
We offer three different seating options: our tables, stools at our window counter or - weather permitting - bench seats at our larger outdoor communal tables.
Please be aware: Outdoor tables are available only if the weather permits. We may not have an alternative table available inside in some instances.
Amazing food at a very reasonable price.
Very quick and very testy . My wife and me were charmed by service, food and in general by the place.
Terrific food, could've eaten everything on the menu, and of course a superb wine list.
Excellent food and location
Too many tables in the space, hence a feeling of being crammed in
Too few inexpensive wine options
Excellent in every respect apart from incredibly high noise levels
Much enjoyed! Will come again. Staff very friendly; delicious food!
Great food and wine, really good service, loved the choices and ambiance
Top place. Food is delicious, refined but unfussy. Great value. Love the relaxed but design led decor too. This is the second time I’ve been, and it’s reliably great.
Delicious food and very friendly service. Will certainly recommend the place
One of the few restaurants that has maintained its value, service and food quality. 100% recommended.
Service welcoming and excellent. Food superb. “Snacks” could replace starters. Menu interesting and seasonal. Tables a bit close to each other and acoustics less than ideal. Well worth a visit and revisit.
One of my favourite spots to eat in London! Great value for money, flavours, originality, simple atmosphere. Fantastic !!
Love this place 💕
Small and simple menu but food was excellent and flavourful
We were really well looked after and the small menu was well crafted and really well executed. We were sat very close to another table, but this aside, we had an amazing evening and will be back.
The food here is exceptional and that coupled with exemplary service makes this a great choice.
Hadn’t been back for more than a year so keen to see if it
lived up to my memories. It did. Shortish menu was full of variety my tempura cod was delicious, chunky, perfectly cooked with a light batter and terrific tartare sauce. Friends’ soup and mussels likewise great they said. We all had the pork loin ..: again, near perfect.
I dropped them a star because even though I like it, the ambience is still corner Italian ... open kitchen, noisy, cheek by jowl. If u like that I urge u to go. It’s fine dining in non-fine-dining surroundings!
Service relaxed but attentive
Nice ambience but tables too close to each other - food is nice but overpriced in my opinion - service is good but too keen on getting you out of there on time even when the place is not full and nobody needs the table
Interesting combinations. Delicious fresh food. Very pleasant service.
Extraordinary food and terrific service. Highly recommended.
This is the umpteenth time I've been and I will keep coming back.
The food is always the star really clever light bites and mains that never disappoint. The wine list is quirky but so is the place, odd uncomfortable chairs and a noisy but bustling feel - but listen that all adds to it's charm. It's in and out so don't expect a long lazy one but do expect great food, lovely people and exceptional attention to detail.
Good service and tasty food. A pleasant lunch at reasonable value.
I had the mussels starter and, unfortunately, developed a severe gastroenteritis which knocked me out for two days. There is always a risk with shellfish but if you're going to serve them you must be assiduous in checking your supplier and the preparation/cooking of the dish.
Excellent meal and superb service
A great experience
We were a small family group who all enjoyed the food and service
My second visit. Had a lovely lunch. Great flavours. The mussel dish was outstanding. Great staff- very friendly.
The small simple menu was absolutely delicious, I couldn’t fault it. The staff were helpful and not over the top, there when you needed them. My only small criticism might be the wooden chairs which could be a little more comfortable but they wouldn’t stop me from returning.
Thanks a lot, the food was amazing.
We will come back very soon
Stunning food, a real adventure in eating Yo never know what you will try and it always is an enriching experience
Fabulous food! Fit for foodies, however the atmosphere is not upscale. Tables are tight together so you're hearing the conversations of the people at the next table. If they improved the ambiance the experience would rate 5 star for me.
Really outstanding food. Some of the service was excellent but not all the workers there. Nice ambiance. Definitely recommend and would go back.
Food delicious. Great space and atmosphere - corner location fantastic, buzzy NY style bistro feel . Excellent service overall. Two points detracted from 5 star review - 1) service almost too attentive at times, drinks removed before finished with “have you finished?” being asked as glasses were on their way back to the bar; and 2) place smelt very eggy which was a bit weird.
One of my favourite restaurants in London. I’ve been about 5 times and been delighted at every visit
Loved the look and feel of the restaurant and the food was delicious
We loved our first visit to this fantastic restaurant. A warm, friendly welcome on a rainy day, then each dish was a delight. Imaginative, beautifully cooked and presented food. We loved every mouthful, and generous portions. Congratulations on a superb restaurant.
One of my favourite places. Excellent food, imaginative and delicious. Staff are always friendly.
This is the perfect little restaurant in the backstreets of central London. Great food, wine, unfussy yet delicious and the staff are very helpful and patient. It's always busy, too. I have been a few times and always enjoy the experience.
Meeting our pals at Clipstone for a Saturday evening dinner was the perfect place. The service, food and ambiance was perfect. Not too precious, very cool vibe with a warmth and professionals staff. Had a lovely evening and would absolutely recommend to friends and will return next time we are in London.
Excellent service with beautifully prepared and presented food. Interesting wine list with great variety.
All round very special lunch.
