CO-OP Restaurant & Lounge
The staff was extremely professional. The vibe was "just right"
Our Thanksgiving dinner was great there, nice experience for the money
Good food, nice menu and excellent service. The food was excellent. Scallops were outstanding but the portion was on the small side. Spaghetti squash was really drenched in butter. Tasted great. Service was really outstanding. Nice variety on the menu. Was a wonderful dinner. Thanks.
I was so disappointed in our experience. Breakfast took 90 minutes for 3 people. They did get very busy but they appeared to be well staffed. It took our server 20+ minutes to come over upon arrival; we watched a table who was sat after us receive service. Overall it was chaotic and disappointing.
I was surprised by my experience here as I've stayed at the Study Hotel in New Haven and would give that restaurant a much better rating. The ambience is good and the menu looks quite nice. I found the food a little bland (except the brussel sprouts...excellent) and the service was friendly but really, really slow. I found the experience disappointing.
AMAZING brunch food. Everything we ordered was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
Pre theatre dinner, nice menu, fast service
Sadly, we were disappointed with the food at Co-Op on this visit. The portions were not commensurate with the prices, and some of the hot food was lukewarm when it reached our table. The service was friendly and accommodating, but they were clearly overworked/understaffed. Not quite what I expected for Drexel’s Parents Weekend. We’ve been to Co-Op at least three times before and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I don’t think we will be going back anytime soon. Almost $100 for subpar food is not something we’ll repeat.
I decided to try Co Op with my family TGIF a send off for my daughter in college. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambience was great. However my server was not good. I order appetizers and never received them prior to our actual entrees. My server was busy talking and socializing with her co workers instead of tending to the patrons needs.
The food and service was very good but it was too loud to enjoy the conversation. Not a good place for older guests or anyone with hearing loss. For those who know ASL it would be ideal.
Atmosphere , food, drinks all outstanding! This was a nice place for date night
Food, service and location was pretty good. Definitely will come back.
The food here was incredible, the service was very good, the menu was diverse and appropriately priced, and the environment is absolutely killer. New favorite spot.
Weak service
Great atmosphere. Attentive server.
Breakfast should be easier. Poor server was overwhelmed. We had to ask for every detail-even what was on the menu included with the dish. 4 times we asked. The poached eggs and fruit came -after having to remind them we ordered it- at the end of the meal. Then waited forever to pay. Had to send my party on to our next appointment while I stood at the server station with my credit card. Standard apology.... we will try again because it’s so near Penn, but come on, when you charge $8 for a tiny palmful of berries, you need to bring it.
Terrible. Wondered why such a war looking place was empty other than a handful of patrons.
Order a NY Strip Steak “Pittsburgh Medium”. Clearly explained it to the server who seemed confused by my temp request.
Steak can out Raw. Send it back medium rare. No acceptable. Server apologized. No Manager came to table or cared whatsoever. She was aware of it because we saw them talking in the kitchen, but didn’t care enough to come to the table.
Paid our tab and left. Will NEVER RETURN.
I visited CO-OP Restaurant for the first time during University City Dining Days. For $15, I received a filling 3 course lunch and took a "doggie bag" home. I had the deviled egg trio (very good), the macaroni & cheese (lacked seasoning but still good) and the cherry cobbler (the best part.. yummy!) As I dined, I checked out other guests dishes which all looked tasty. Oh one more thing, great ambience. I am looking forward to dining here again soon.
I went in with low expectations not for any particular reason but too many times I have been disappointed, not this time. The food was very good. I liked the twist on the traditional wedge salad. The cocktail menu was very creative. My issues were not with the food but the service. Water was not refilled. I got up and took a water bottle to the table after waiting more than 10 minutes for a refill. The entree was served only a few minutes after the first course was served. The coffee was not hot when first served and waited for a refill but did not get any.Just small things, but that is what makes the difference. Also the noise level was very high. They need to place sound absorbing items in the room.
Substandard service detracted from the experience - and the dining room was over half empty! Also, the menu was MUCH smaller than the one listed on their website, so that was disappointing. If you are staying at the Study and don't want to go into Center City Philly to eat, then this is a good bet - but otherwise.... find someplace else.
Food is always tasty. Good beer list. Smaller wine by the glass list, but nice choices. Prices typical for central Philadelphia. My 7th time, and have always liked it. Convenient to trains/subways/ parking.
We enjoy dining at Co-Op because we can depend on fresh ingredients prepared well and good service. On this visit Chris was our server, he greeted us with a smile and a friendly welcome. He checked on us during the meal, which is to me a sign of good service. The manager Trevor stopped by also as he made his rounds of the room. Our salmon was delicious and the crisp fresh vegetable medley with herbs was colorful and delicious as well. Looking forward to the next visit.
Great brunch menu! Loved everything we ordered. Great variety!
While the herb fries were good, our salad and quinoa bowl were just ok. The salmon was bland and tasteless. boring food for the price.
The. Absolute. Worst.
Went for Brunch on a Sunday. The place was pretty empty and nothing came within a reasonable time frame. Appetizer took 25-30 mins (it was raw fish, so not much prep needed), then the olive oil I requested for the raw fish took another 15 mins and required me getting up and finding the server to ask AGAIN for it. When I ordered the huevos rancheros, I asked the server if something was missing from the description on the menu (no mention of tortilla or rice) he said nope, the description looked accurate. The it arrived it was eggs and beans ON TOP OF A QUESADILLA! And the "Queso Fresco" that was listed on the menu was gross shredded cheddar cheese! Also the pico de gallo was just huge chunks of chopped tomatoes and onions, no flavor at all. But the icing on the disgusting cake was when I asked for hot sauce, all they had was tabasco or sriracha. How ya gonna have HUEVOS RANCHEROS on your menu and have ZERO decent hot sauce. UGH the worst. My stomach still turns thinking about it.
Wait staff was a bit slow and seemed confused.
Food was poorly cooked.
DONT GO!!!!!!!!!!
Main dish came out minutes after appetizer
Felt little rushed as server checked too frequently despite seeing we had work papers on the table. Wasn’t crowded
Food was terrific
Wld go again
Excellent all around. Great food, service and ambiance.
Yummy soft-shell crab and shrimp with pasta. Lovely atmosphere. We also had breakfast there. Avocado toast on thick delicious whole grain bread topped with salad was outstanding.
Excellent menu options. Healthy, creative and delicious. Wonderful service. Upscale and energetic ambiance. Will return for sure.
Very nice restaurant with great interior, service, and food. Will be returning soon.
Monte was an excellent waiter! Checked on us frequently, and our food came out quickly! The food was delicious! The burger was a little dry, even with all the toppings, but everyone else had very tasty meals. The cornbeef hash was very good. The salmon, bagels are cream cheese was a good size portion. The bananas foster french toast was excellent. I'd go back...it was very good!
Don't waste your money. You can find a much nicer restaurant in Philadelphia! The food was average , the service was terrible. The restaurant itself was very pretty, but had an echo. Our main complaint was the terrible service, not worth the price.
A great spot to meet a new business colleague and go over a presentation. We will be back.
I ordered the Cauliflower dukha and it was marvelous. The blend of flavors and textures was so satisfying. I would love the receipe. The other dish that ws ordered was the crab flowerettes and that was also very good but not quite as outstanding as the cauliflower.
Visited CO-OP for brunch for the first time on a Saturday afternoon, the decor is what drew me in. AWESOME POTATOES! I highlight this because delicious breakfast potatoes are hard to find, these get an A++. Also try the Chai Tea and the avocado toast is huge. Was a little disappointed by the frittata because it was more like very thin omelette. Overall would visit again.
To be on the UPenn campus and peacefully have a noon hour lunch in beautiful surroundings with fabulous service and the best salad I have ever had was a delight.
As a guest of the UPenn leader previously, and this very next time I visited UPenn my guest, new to CoOp, was delighted and she will return ... as will I. Fine restaurant.
Food was ok. Service was very slow.
