Offering All Day Dining, with 360-degree views over Granary Square and newly regenerated parts of London; the 160 cover restaurant has a roof top terrace, outside dining area and an open kitchen layout throughout two floors. Going beyond a typical restaurant offering, Coal Office is a place where you can experience fresh, creative food in a variety of beautifully designed and atmospheric spaces, where the provenance is explained, the tableware is available to buy, and the recipes are shared.
We sat on the high chairs near the serving bar. A little noisy and too much movement for my taste. Food is pretty good but nothing exceptional - and a little pricey for what it is. Plates also quite small - even though there are three sizes.
Excellent food, ambience and service as always - favourite restaurant in London
Great service. Delicious food and a beautiful location.
The food was tasted and looked incredible and the staff were very friendly
Amazing food and extremely friendly staff! Absolutely loved the polenta and the cheesecake!!
second time we go there, food quality still excellent, ambience full of vibe, well looked after by waiters.
Absolutely delicious food and great service, would highly recommend. The duck main course and the cheesecake dessert were a particular favourite. Also great value at around £50pp with a glass of wine.
Amazing food and service!
A symphony of textures and intriguing flavours. Every single dish was faultless . Highly recommended !
The food was amazing . So many delicious flavours and beautifully presented . Service great and we just loved the atmosphere
We were a group 7 girls, had a fun, tasty evening! The chefs were kind and willing to prepare food with special requests that we had. Highly recommended!
We had a booking at 6pm which was a great time as it was busy but still manageable. We had a great table with a lovely view over Granary Square. The food is fantastic and unusual. A little more explanation on the menu would have been helpful but our waiter was super friendly and helpful in explaining everything.
Great food.... our waiter was a little off hand although he explained the food well. We found it hard to talk as the music was too loud. Really enjoyed ourselves and have recommended it to everyone!
I did ask for a table overlooking the river but wasn’t given one.
All good, just that I imagine the place could get really noisy when full.
Great food, great ambiance, great experience. Would come back again!
Fantastic food. Good service. But very noisy! Will be back
The food is innovative but incredibly tasty. Staff are fun and efficient. We prefer the counter or
Higher seating rather than the tables at the far end
Consistently good. Amazing flavours and great service.
Way to expensive for what you get.
Ordered the octopus and it came very salty
As always extraordinary food, service and the atmosohere! Love your tunes guys!
This place is a must go to! Exquisite tasty food, lovely and cosy atmosphere with a playlist that will make you want to reach for Shazam whilst catching up wit friends, gorgeous setting in a easy to reach location, with a friendly staff. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!! Thank you for the experience - I can’t wait to come back.
Everything was great, food was out of this world! It’s a fusion of Middle Eastern tastes from across the Middle East!
All good, amazing dinner. I’m not giving 5 stars because I prefer raw food/dishes. All was amazing but too many sauces. We were in 4 and apart from me, all my friends gave 5 stars. Super recommended!
Great service and food outstanding. Very buzzy will definitely be back
A very special dinner with lovely food and people. PERFECT
Delicious food and excellent staff. Would highly recommend. We had a lovely meal - variety and excellent flavours.
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere!! I will definitely come back!!
Went for dinner last wed to celebrate my son's bday. Everything was excellent. We were allocated a lovely table. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. I will definitely go again
Love the food and the service. Music slightly too loud for me - but it wont stop me going
The food was heavily dependant on yoghurt as the prime ingredient a d although it was tasty it wasn't enough to sustain a whole menu . I thought the wine was eye wateringly expensive.
Went for our anniversary and sat at the bar near the kitchen. It was such a fantastic evening. The staff were all awesome and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful and inventive food, combining Middle Eastern and European flavours and tradition. Hectic kitchen and music - it's a noisy, clubby kind vibe. Bread and desserts were incredible. Excellent vegetarian options and really good wine and cocktails
The third one in the Palomar, Barbary fame & equally amazing I must say,
Great place if you want a slightly different meal. Tapas style sharing plates
The food was exquisite, the atmosphere perfect and the prices extremely reasonable for the quality. The service was also brilliant. We will definitely be back!
Highly original and exciting food in a contemporary setting full of beautiful design details. The open kitchen adds a great atmosphere and the menu is fascinating and a food adventure - of the best kind! Great staff and excellent service all round.
It's a great venue: the food is fantastic and I have now eaten there for brunch, lunch and dinner. BUT the noise level is way above "energetic" and in my opinion soars to pretty nigh unbearable, especially at weekends when there are kids. The problem is the acoustics: a low ceiling means the noise bounces off the ceiling and back again. So be prepared to shout when you can't hear your friends/lovers — and of course, that makes it worse. Otherwise it's pretty near perfect, great menu, well served and a lot of charm on display.
Food and ambience was great. Most members of staff were friendly but could be more attentive with clearing of used cutleries and making space as the square tables have limited space for the copious amounts we ordered.
Superb selection of food
I was really underwhelmed. Having been excited to come. Our table wasn’t ready when we got there, the ambiance was more night club than classy restaurant and the food overpriced.
I’d suggest trying to pack less folk in and turn the music down to encourage your local patrons to return.
