Offering All Day Dining, with 360-degree views over Granary Square and newly regenerated parts of London; the 160 cover restaurant has a roof top terrace, outside dining area and an open kitchen layout throughout two floors. Going beyond a typical restaurant offering, Coal Office is a place where you can experience fresh, creative food in a variety of beautifully designed and atmospheric spaces, where the provenance is explained, the tableware is available to buy, and the recipes are shared.
Great food and great time
Food was quite nice, but a little pricey for what you're getting. Unfortunately the beef shawarma was overcooked, and needed a little balance.
Service was amazing which is why I'm not giving 3 stars. Chairs are also a bit uncomfortable.
Great ambience, great music. Set on the bar, really nice staff on bar and waiters. The food was good, the cost little bit high, value for money little bit low.
Great malabi! And great ravioli!
We were a party of 6 and had a truly wonderful experience at Coal Office. Glorious food, wonderful interior design plus genuinely friendly and helpful staff. If the type of food appeals to you, then GO, it doesn’t get much better.
Amazing service on the counter bar by chef Nitai
I am a very challenging costumer
And appreciated the effort
We strongly recommend !!!! DK
I would order everything again and go every week if I could.
The restaurant felt rather cramped, especially downstairs. I felt more like a cocktail bar rather than a restaurant.
The music was way too loud and we simply struggled to hear those on our table and eventually I turned the speaker off adjacent to our table.
Sadly I wouldn't return despite the good food.
This is a very lovely eating experience with exciting food so delicious that you want to eat everything. For me and my wife, as crumblies, the noise level became unbearable later in the evening, but fortunately we had finished devouring a very splendid meal.
We arrived full of anticipation... write-ups and reviews had appeared good and we all loved modern, middle eastern food. What a big anticlimax, none of the dishes packed a punch, all were rather mediocre and the presentation was not good either. The small plates looked rather hurried with no definition and that also applied to the taste as there were no outstanding flavours... the dishes we had were all on one level. Where was the piquancy and the contrast? The staff were efficient and pleasant, the music overloud (if you wanted a conversation) and although the venue had a buzz the food certainly did not live up to expectations.
Staff friendly and helpful, cool atmosphere.
Good music and absolutely amazing food
It was a little cold... And the veggies for starters weren't really good.
Other than that all was wonderful! Asaf Granit rocks!
Great ambience, warm service and food that makes you happy to indulge!
Delicious food beautiful restaurants and friendly staff!
Very disappointed dinner. The food was no tasty, cold. No imagination, no vibe. Nothing. I visit there six months ago and it was awesome, and now ... big deference . That’s what happens that you open too much restaurant around the world...
The best food i had in London. Amazing service and great conversation with the chef at the kit hen counter
Excellent food, service, setting - we sat at the counter, and it was 10/10
To best one in London. Great food, Great service and Great location to travel in the area
We didnt realise that the breakfast menu wasn’t available at the weekend. Food was excellent quality.
Music too loud- I struggled to communicate with my partner. Food was tasty.
Great service, very accommodating staff.
Great atmosphere, and Tom Dixon designs everywhere! What more could you want!
Amazing! feel free to seat on the Bar, you can see the chef and the team in front of you.
very nice, and tasty. good vibes and high quality of service
Good food we really loved it!
The place is clean, great service!
our son and partner gave us the meal as a gift and it lived up to occasion. We had a memorable meal, food with food that was well thought out with depth of flavour. It is noisy place, but at lunchtime it's busy happy chatter and, sitting at a table, conversation was manageable. Good venue, lovely situation.
This was the fourth time I have visited The Coal Office. We were a party of 6 for my 70th birthday. One of the waitresses remembered me from previous visits. A nice personal touch. My guests had not been before and were very impressed. I can’t speak too highly of this restaurant in all aspects.
Outstanding not to be missed!
Sensational food, great service. Can’t wait to go again!
Amazing food, amazing people, amazing time. Will definitely be going back!!!
Fantastic food. Reminded me of the best places in TLV. Would definitely recommend and go there again. Make sure to make a reservation in advance; its getting filled very quickly!
Food is very Interesting, tasty and well prepared. It looks attractive too. Some dishes are overpriced. Service was efficient but I was extremely disappointed to hear that the waiter asked our American friend who was paying whether she wanted to leave something for the waiter when service had been added to the bill. Fortunately I noticed.
Also, the waiter told us we had the table for 2 hours and implied we would be told to leave if we didn’t have dessert and drinks. In short, food good but I would t go back.
Just fantastic. We knew we were in for a treat the minute we were seated and our drinks arrived- Delicious and creatively mixed . The food was equally mind blowing- we loved the octopus and polenta the most! And gorgeous Tom Dixon interior! A special Thankyou to Andreas our waiter who was so wonderful and friendly. He really hit the mark between professional and casual. We felt instantly relaxed!
We were here for a business meeting so preferred not to share, but it would have been much better if we had because each dish was amazing, I those of us from the same team really wanted to try out everything!
The waiter was extremely attentive and helpful. I had asked for a quiet spot because we wanted to talk, and at first, it was fine. As the restaurant filled up it got a little hard to hear each other but that's due to the layout rather than anything the staff did. The music was enlivening but not too loud, so just right.
I definitely want to go back with friends and try out a lot more of the food without any business etiquette! Definitely recommend this for a fun social occasion.
Great food, beautiful design. The service was superb. The only thing that wasn't perfect for me, was the loud music. We've asked to sit in more quiet area and received quick and satisfying reply.
Delicious from beginning to end!
Great deco and in such a beautiful area of town near the canal. The Israeli dishes were special and very yummy. We ordered second of one of their pine nuts and praline puff pastry. A great variety of dishes with awesome flavours. I am definitely going back to try the other dishes another time.
Restaurant and food were amazing. Service was very friendly and helpful.
Coal Office has imaginative menu - suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Tasty dishes with good ingredients, prepared with imaginative approaches. It is on the pricey side - ~£50pp. The only small niggle was that bread was not supplied as standard and was not on the menu until asked.
We will back !
The food is perfect for sharing which adds to the fun of the evening.
Very tasty food and attentive staff a really lovely experience
Yummy food, would be helpful to have vegetarian/vegan/gf signs next to dishes so easier to read the menu.
Great atmosphere and amazing table set up
Will go again.
