Offering All Day Dining, with 360-degree views over Granary Square and newly regenerated parts of London; the 160 cover restaurant has a roof top terrace, outside dining area and an open kitchen layout throughout two floors. Going beyond a typical restaurant offering, Coal Office is a place where you can experience fresh, creative food in a variety of beautifully designed and atmospheric spaces, where the provenance is explained, the tableware is available to buy, and the recipes are shared.
Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. The food was superb (and very generous) and the service was friendly and impeccable! Try to get seats at the kitchen bar - fantastic to watch.
Great food and service as always! The pancakes were absolutely delicious. Will come back again.
Best restaurant in London by far! Atmosphere is buzzing and fun with music, great cocktails and delicious food!
This was my third visit. The staff are highly professional and very friendly. The food is excellent and something really different.
Delicious food and lovely staff who made spot-on menu recommendations. I can't wait t go back. Lx
The food was extremely tasty, but the volume of the music was so loud that we left with hoarse voices. Yet another restaurant that thinks playing music at club volume is 'cool'? I don't want to have to shout over my meal to be heard. Shame, because the food was good, but I won't be returning or recommending because of this.
Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!! And amazing recommend I have so much fun
We were sitting at the back of the restaurant so luckily were able to talk away from the loud music.
The service was excellent as was the food.
Super menu, lovely staff and a cool vibe. Would recommend to anyone but especially veggie’s
Absolutely amazing, food was brilliant, the kitchen had a great atmosphere. We will be visiting again
We went for lunch on a Sunday and while the restaurant was busy, service was warm and helpful. The food was uniformly excellent - from the brioche-like bread to the yellowtail carpaccio to the midnight shawarma (a must-have if you like bone marrow). Restaurant interiors are stylish with interesting details. Coal Office is a really valuable addition to the Jerusalem style restaurant scene in London!
we loved the food, the vibe, the employees. the music was great and the menu was full of options and everything was tasty
Hands down, one of the best meals I've ever had in London. Wonderful food with great punchy flavours and possibly the best service I've experienced in a restaurant in the city. Had a really great time at a counter table - chatting with the chef and his team in between many, many delicious plates. Get a booking if you can - it's highly recommended.
Fantastic food, lively interaction with the waiters and chefs. Not the place to go if you want to talk to the people you're eating with, and definitely not if you're at the counter seating.
That being said, I would recommend for the food experience, an excellent mix of different cultures mainly middle eastern food.
Incredible food and wonderful friendly service.
Food was amazing, tables a little cramped and bar like. Atmosphere great and service good.
Total treat. Third visit and standard never drops. Truly fantastic food, incredible value, wonderfully informed staff in a gorgeous setting with impeccable design in every detail. Favourite place with either hubby or girlfriends.
Great place. The energy and hospitality is what singles the restaurant out from the crowd. Lovely ingredients, we had a great experience.
Had breakfast in the upstairs area. Good food with good service in signature Tom Dixon surroundings.
It was a friend birthday! They gave her a little birthday surprise. She liked it very much. Great time!!
Amazing environment with delicious food! I would recommend this place to everyone!
Clever innovative middle eastern food balanced flavors and good focus on vegetarian cuisine with enough for carnivores friendly service
We sat at the bar which I would recommend, you get to be part of the action and see all the chefs cooking and plating up. The music is middle eastern which creates for a great vibe!
Service was great and there is a really nice upbeat vibe to the restaurant. Music was too loud where we were initially sat so we got moved to the back which was much better. Some dishes were really good (the Aubergine starter and chicken livers. mm!) whilst others were only OK (the bagel starter / bone marrow / duck main). Difficult not to compare to Hicce which is just round the corner and every dish was delicious. The sample starter and aperitifs were a very nice touch and the cheesecake is one of the best I’ve ever tasted (and I am more of a chocolate dessert kind of person so this is saying a lot!). All in all, still a positive experience and would still recommend.
Food was great, service was a bit... strange. Very inconsistent and rude.
Rude waiter, I asked if they could describe the food and got nothing. Food was also very over priced for what it was.
We loved this place, it’s a mix between a club and a restaurant. Perfect for older couples who are not into clubbing but want the ambiance. Food is outstanding a moroccan eclectic cuisine. Lamb chops and polenta are superb. Music is lively and fun, be sure that your seat is stable because you will find yourself dance sitting all night! Decoration is gorgeous designed by famous designer Tom Dixon.
Time limited table for 2 hours but for 4 people catching up , talking and eating share plates this is not enough time.
We and both tables at each side of us were basically asked to leave , there was no time to have coffee.
We felt hassled and hurried by staff and found the staff intrusive.
With ordering wine , we did not recognize any wines and the waiter told us the best wine was one certain wine ( cost 65 pounds) and couldn’t offer anything else about the other wines. He appeared disappointed when we did not order his recommendation .
One dish came with a soup base but there were no spoons and when we asked for bread , the only way they would serve bread was to order another starter and dip!
The food was good, the music was loud but we were all disappointed with the experience and will not be back.
Beautiful space, playful atmosphere, friendly (dancing!) staff and amazing food. One of my top places in London.
What a great find. The gentleman who served us was really friendly and informative and really took care when noting our dietary requirements. They were very busy but kept us in the loop as to this. The food was amazing, the flavour combinations and spicing were brilliant and the breads.....heaven. Loved the design element too. I will be going back.
Second time here. First time a month ago was fabulous, second not so great. Service was very haphazard and gruff which does affect the enjoyment of your meal. Great cocktails.
Absolutely wonderful experience!...
Highly recommend all the dishes we had...fennel, aubergine, polenta, bread but the one most outstanding was the octopus!...heavenly!...thank you!..
Fun atmosphere and delicious food and cocktails! I will definitely return.
Good food but too rich, too many flavours in each plate, service was okay... our waiter was amazing but the “backup” was a bit too arrogant
Great food, designed for sharing with an amazing range of Middle Eastern flavours with touches of individuality from the chef’s - very good restaurant and really good, well trained staff who seem really bought into the experience too.
Highly recommend it.
Delicious food, buzzy, upbeat atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend it
Friendly and helpful service and great food. A bit cramped, a bit noisy and a bit on the expensive side. Overall though, a good meal and an enjoyable time
The sour cream ice cream in olive oil was amazing - I could eat it every day!
