Offering All Day Dining, with 360-degree views over Granary Square and newly regenerated parts of London; the 160 cover restaurant has a roof top terrace, outside dining area and an open kitchen layout throughout two floors. Going beyond a typical restaurant offering, Coal Office is a place where you can experience fresh, creative food in a variety of beautifully designed and atmospheric spaces, where the provenance is explained, the tableware is available to buy, and the recipes are shared.
very nice location and interesting food not overly priced. Excellent service
Food served to quickly. Required two requests to slow down the serving.
Might have been the best dinner I ever had, and definitely Assaf Granit's finest institution up to date, and I've been to them all. Amazing food, lovely staff, stunning design and happy vibes. Can't recommend enough!
I’d heard the shakshuka was amazing - I have to say it wasn’t really. Sauce was overreduced a little bitter, and under seasoned. Eggs were unfortunately cooked all the way through... had halloumi on toast as a side dish which was lovely but hard to get that wrong!
Cappuccino was excellent though, attentive service and in a beautiful setting. Didn’t order anything else so can’t comment on the rest of the menu.
Might go back and order something else as it did come recommended but I was a little disappointed
This was our second visit to The Coal Office - the first was a month ago, and although they gave us a high table, it wasn't really uncomfortable. The food is really good - unusual flavours, masses of attention to detail, and all served excellently - all the serving staff were attentive - we never had to wait for 'our' waiter to serve us. Our favourites are the polenta, mushroom, asparagus and truffle dish, and the brioche, although it's all excellent. If you like Palomar, you'll love this place. We shall be back!
One of the best meals I’ve had in London. Fantastic food in a super fun atmosphere with exceptional staff.
This is the third time dining at your restaurant but the first time for lunch.
We found the menue limited and the quantity of food supplied very small Overall very poor value for money.
The noise level was extremely high and our guests found it difficult to converse.
Fabulous food. When we arrived we were given a high up bar table. I booked ages in advance. After discussion we were moved. When I booked on open table I should have been asked whether I wanted a high table or normal one. The moving took ages and with no huge apology.
This was my first visit to the Coal Office. Once we'd got over the difficulty of finding the door to get in, the service and food were excellent. Delicious menu and I loved the Israeli wine. Will definitely be back!
Amazing food, well presented and super good vibes
A bit expensive however the food is worth the price! The people there are really nice and welcoming, we got our table pretty fast. Amazing!
Ordered a place, were on time. Still needed to wait 10 minutes to be seated (no queue, just us)
The waiter was we awful, didn't do anything beyond writing what we ordered. No recommendation or explanation about the different dishes. He also smelled quite badly.
Most of the dishes were good, nothing spectacular for the priced paid (except the Polenta)
We returned two dishes - one untouched and one remained ~80%. Didn't get even a blink from the waiter taking them back, on why we didn't like them or ask to replace, or maybe get a manager to ask us. We were fully charged on both of them.
Bottom line - overpriced, awful servings and won't recommend to anyone.
*We loved AG's other restaurants in London - Barbary and Palomar
Absolutely Fantastic!! Music was just slightly too loud.
Rather rowdy and noisy for a Sunday evening. Great food and service.
Wow. This place is honestly awesome. Firstly, the vibe is great, and all the furnishings used in the restaurant are beautiful.
The food is outstanding. We ordered a number of starters and mains to share, and they were all delicious. The staff were fantastic as well, super friendly and up for a laugh.
Will definitely be going again.
On arrival, the person greeting at the door was unfriendly and arrogant. As the first person you meet - this is a breathtaking start. It’s not necessary for five waiting staff to ask if we have allergies. They were sweet, but untrained. Smiling & pouring water is not enough. Food interesting, some very good ...but if you don’t understand how to recruit the right staff, the place (for me), is just part of the usual London circus. I guess these things don’t matter much - as the location and decor makes us all feel on trend - so these are just details...but maybe at some point it will matter...
Fantastic food. Great vibe. We really enjoyed the experience. It's very loud and a party atmosphere.
Music far far far too loud. It’s a restaurant not a nightclub. And I say this not as a grumpy 90 year old, but someone who loves to party! Almost ruined it. That said - the food was immense. Particularly the fennel salad
Delicious food, beautifully presented with plenty of interesting middle eastern flavours
Great atmosphere and very professional and friendly waiters
Will go back often for guaranteed great evening
Such a delicious and modern take on middle eastern dishes. I still can't get over the sour cream ice cream...
Great repurposing of an old building next to the canal (not seen from the table but enhances the journey to and from). Food was tasty and interesting (in a good way), I had Seabass and my dining companion had Kebab. It is perfectly located behind St. Pancras and Kingscross Stations. I will visit again.
The food in this place is unreal. Our group ordered one portion of everything on the menu, and it turned out to be just the right amount for 7 people. Every course was so nuanced and carefully put together. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for a lunch meeting, and the waiters are attentive and very knowledgable on their cuisine.
Would 100% recommend to anyone. Loved it!
Absolutely brilliant experience. Lovely staff and delicious food. Only negative was we were seated in the bar despite an empty restaurant so it was a little loud and people we’re constantly walking past us. I’d still go again!
Excellent food, excellent value. Sat outside on a sunny sunday, which was perfect, though music inside seemed quite loud.
Great food. Really interesting flavours. Knowledgeable and attentive staff. Lovely space and location. Not cheap but not a rip-off either. Music played at high volume throughout which made it really hard to have a conversation. Didn't completely spoil the meal but it was close!
Having eaten in your Jerusalem restaurant, expectations were high and we were not disappointed. We all enjoyed ourselves very much and will be back.
The food was superb, our waitress was very friendly and helpful - we particularly appreciated her turning the speaker near our table down, as otherwise conversation would have been challenging.
Great food, fantastic service and staff. Comfy seats, amazing lighting and design. Throughly enjoyable lunchtime experience.
It was an experience, but unfortunately too loud music, the dishes are too small.the service is perfect, but overall it wasn't that special and quite expensive.
Great atmosphere, staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was so unusual and tasty, really enjoyed trying different flavours that set the palette alight. It’s a bit pricey and make sure you order veg with the main course but would definitely go again.
Food and service very good.
Noisy table of 4 next to us which was rather distracting.
I don’t want to tell you how good this place is because it’s already hard enough to get a table!
Great brunch. Arrived late and they were very accommodating. Food was amazing, especially the polenta. We were not rushed out the door. The waiting staff were great fun. We would definitely go there again.
As always the Coal Office impresses with great food and service. We love the interior by Tom Dixon and sharing plates is our perfect type of meal. This was our first brunch but we really enjoyed the dishes over a Bellini. The Shakshuka was excellent. We'd definitely recommend for brunch, lunch or dinner.
Restaurant is fantastic and food and service were excellent. Next time I would sit at the back as it was a bit too noisy by the bar and kitchen.
Really delicious, great atmosphere and brilliant service
Fantastic atmosphere staff very friendly and look like they are happy to be working which is a novelty and the food absolutely amazing
We had nearly all the dishes on the menu & they’re all finger licking! Music was fab as well as the super friendly casual service! I’d definitely go again
Excellent fresh food, knowledgable and attentive staff, great surroundings.
Great place, lovely food and clever mix of design from Tom Dixon.
Absolutely amazing food and amazing service - thanks for a wonderful experience!
Excellent, nothing bad to say. Would be happy to return. Silvia the girl who served us was outstanding.
