Offering All Day Dining, with 360-degree views over Granary Square and newly regenerated parts of London; the 160 cover restaurant has a roof top terrace, outside dining area and an open kitchen layout throughout two floors. Going beyond a typical restaurant offering, Coal Office is a place where you can experience fresh, creative food in a variety of beautifully designed and atmospheric spaces, where the provenance is explained, the tableware is available to buy, and the recipes are shared.
Absolutely fantastic. Second visit and will return as soon as possible!
Will make sure when booking next time to ask for a normal table and chairs placement as in my opinion, high chairs especially at the bar are not right to enjoy delicious food and Good cpnversation
Loved this place!. Really good atmosphere over a lunchtime. Friendly service. Food was delicious, we had some bread and three small plates for two of us. Everything was delicious and not being meat eaters, it was great to have such a wide choice of options. Will definitely be returning.
All I wish to say is that the food was outstanding!
Quite simply the best dinning experience for years; every dish is a delight and every mouthful made me smile. So good that we’re going back next week...
We had a rocky start - being given a table in the hellish front area (uncomfortable stools, eye-poppingly loud music) but we asked to move and were given a table in the back - much more quiet and serene. We had excellent service, the food was absolutely out of this world. Highly recommended, but make sure you ask to sit in the back!
I met a friend here for a casual midweek lunch. The bar / restaurant is smartly presented with nice views over Granary Square, however I was cold throughout despite wearing two layers. Staff were very friendly and helpful, though to be honest I struggled to understand the waiter's description of the food due to his strong accent.
The food was good for what it was, however the small plates were too small (really barely even a starter portion) but the large plates sounded too heavy for a light lunch. The combinations were interesting and different but there wasn't anything you'd pick if you were after a 'safe' option.
Overall, I'd visit again but probably not bother with the small plates.
We enjoyed very much the food. Tasted very good. Delicious!
A cocktail arrived with the last course, but we didn’t pay for it. Fair enough. The atmosphere was great and the waitress was very nice and kind.
Loved it. Great atmosphere. Good food.
Food was ok, modern atmosphere
Fantastic food lovely vibe. The bar area is very loud with cool middle Eastern dance music. But the dinning area is a lot quiter for those who don't want to eat in a beriut disco.
We had a terrific time here and will definitely come again. Kings Cross has really changed and this is a terrific restaurant. Service was impeccable.
Lovely food and quite comfortable dining. It was a bit cramped to be honest so I'd choose my table in future to avoid feeling like it was a communal dining experience. We did meet our dining neighbours and discussed the food so it was fine but not great if you wanted more of an intimate experience.
Good food and great space. Service a bit slow but definitely recommend to a friend.
Amazing location, great place awesome service and food! Would definitely come again!
A lovely location right on the edge of the canal in the old coal storage building.
Its surrounded by trendy shops and outside and inside bars.
The waiters are extremely attentive from the moment you walk in, we were struggling with chosing form the Menu so he helped us put a menu together and we were not disappointed.
The food is Israeli and is beautifully flavoured and served in quite unique ways.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
If there had to be a negative it is on the pricey side.
Great food, cool venue, attentive service and lively on a Friday night. It did feel at times like you had to speak up to be heard over the music. Other than that, everything was great and would definitely return.
The restaurant located in a beautiful building, has a great service and great atmosphere. However, the food is ok, nothing special, very small portions and expensive comparing too the size.
We were 4 people, spend over 120 pounds (without alcohol or deserts) and we finished the dining hungries.
Our waiter was charming. It was noisy. But the food was as lovely as ever.
Food great - cocktails not great.
Excellent food, although it came out very fast making us feel a little rushed.
I would definitely return
I really enjoyed my night out. The waiter was very friendly.
Amazing! Food was incredible (aubergine and chicken 11/10), service and ambience even more, definitely recommended.
The must delicious Middle Eastern inspired food. The yoghurt bread to start with is just the most amazing pillow of loveliness!
The food was amazing and great service and atmosphere.
We brought American friends as our guests on Sunday evening. While the food was, as usual, delicious and interesting, the music and related noise (dancing and clapping by the waiting staff) was so loud that we couldn't hold any kind of four-way conversation and, to put it plainly, the evening was spoilt.
Good one, we had lovely dinner with friends and enjoyed the food and atmosphere
Good buzzy atmosphere and helpful staff even though they were slow in taking our order and forgot to bring all the drinks
One main course was so undercooked and had to be sent back. Bill was on high side but they overcharged which was rectified but unnecessary mistake. Despite all of above we will go again when in Kings Cross area
Loved it! Buzzy and fun, and the food was really great, it's been a long time since I've enjoyed all three courses as much as I did here
We tried out this new London hotspot for an early Sunday lunch, after several failed attempts at a dinner reservation.
The space is visually striking, and makes interesting use of limited space by basically having diners sit in the kitchen - which at first I thought was cool, but got annoying as the sounds of food prep interrupted our conversation.
Food was excellent, but eclectic, and the menu required extensive oral commentary from our server in order to understand. Everything is for sharing, but plates are not large, so plan to order plenty.
Overall, you’re left with the feeling that design and aesthetics trumped practicality and comfort here.
The restaurant looked incredible, interior specifically!
Food was good but a bit too oily/buttery
Staff were unbelievably great, the atmosphere was amazing. The chefs getting involved and the music!
We had a super wonderful time and really appreciated the cheeky free shots and champagne. The food was spectacular - desperate to come back VERY SOON!
We enjoyed our meal here although suspect from the loud music that we don't fit the normal customer profile! Service was attentive and engaging. We especially liked the extra touches - tastes of dishes we hadn't actually ordered - and despite wine being on the pricy side were pleasantly surprised by the overall size of our final bill.
Stylish atmosphere, Tasty Food and very friendly and attentive Service -will Come back
The octopus dish as a medium plate was divine. Great tunes playing in the background and attentive service meant for a very good all round experience.
Fabulous food, amazing taste experiences, great staff. They all love their job and enjoy doing it. Great fun
Honestly, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been. I can’t even tell you. We got sat by the kitchen and it was so cool. It’s fun, vibrant, all the staff were amazing and the food....Well, the food is next level. For me it was all about sharing and getting some of everything. Such amazing flavours and so creatively done. And it’s Tom Dixon interior designed so everything you see and touch is bloody beautiful. Highly highly recommend!
My new favourite restuarant in London! Incredible food. Incredible service.
Outstanding. Everything was tasty. Had starters, mains & deserts. Cheesecake is a must as is the salted caramel martini!
Great food. Really friendly staff and super understanding about my 6 month old son who was fairly noisy... will definitely come back.
A cool, welcoming decor coupled with warm sincere service. Delicious food from an unusual menu
Music is cool rock-Israeli in Hebrew and Arabic, volume level might bother some guests
Food was served on cold plates - this is not good and needs to be changed otherwise tasty eggs go cold very quickly.
Reasonably priced, great location, somewhere my kids and partners are begging to be taken to!
