The choice of dishes is fantastic - had the chicken Lamprais (a favourite) followed by a Jaggery Hopper and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend.

My family and I visited this restaurant after hearing positive reviews. A few issues arose during the course of the meal but we were generally satisfied with the taste and quality of the food. However, we found a strand of hair in two different dishes we ordered. The staff offered to take off the value of the dishes the hairs were found in which we were grateful for. We left slightly disappointed but overall enjoyed the rest of our meal.
About 15mins after leaving we received an appalling phone call accusing us of planting hair in our own food, saying they have CCTV proof and will send us pictures of hair under our table. We were mortified by the accusation. They surprisingly didn't send any photos. We then wrote a review on Google which they responded to with public accusations and then the next day, sent us a text saying if we took our review down from Google they would partly refund our meal. Given that we are in a pandemic and eating out is already a risk, I am appauled by the way we were treated by this restaurant. To make matters worse, we had taken our mother out for a meal after ages as we have been sheltering her due to the virus. We will not be going back there or recommending this restaurant to anyone. If you do decide to go, I sincerely hope our experience was an anomaly and you enjoy better service.

Gave 3 stars as I wish there was a Hopper deal with 1 Egg hopper & 1 or 2 plain hopper(s). I needed a plain hopper after having the egg hopper!

Delicious food - a lovely change from a generic curry. Lively and buzzy atmosphere. Recommend the Lamprai dishes which are sadly only available on the weekend. Will definitely make this a regular.

An enjoyable experience in a busy/buzzy environment
The food was excellent and being Sri-Lanka cuisine was a little different from the norm.

Food was outstanding, we found it a little bit noisy (for us) as some cooking is done within the restaurant for people to view - but others may enjoy this.

Unfortunately one of the waitresses whisked my main away before I was quite finished with it (albeit there was only a v small amount left) but really she should have asked. However I did not say anything at the time as I got the impression she was very new and it was an honest mistake to make (I noticed the next time around she did ask).
Overall a lovely restaurant with very tasty food. We would definitely return!

Portion of condiments are very small.

tap water Option is not available so wether you want it or not you have to buy bottle of water which is 1 size only.

It would be nice to have other tea options available or may be choice of just hot water.
My preference is hot water especially with fried food.

We had a fabulous dinner with extremely tasty truly authentic freshly prepared Sri Lankan food that we found to be the best in the UK. The portion sizes were good the blend of spices and ingredients were well balanced fresh and appetising and the dishes were skilfully prepared finished and garnished nicely. The staff were very friendly and polite and Chef Sylvia took the trouble if ensuring we were happy with our dining experience. We particularly enjoyed seeing our hoppers and kotthu being made in front of us. The staff took all precautions to ensure safety and hygiene and social distancing was in place which was very reassuring. If you are looking for a fabulous Sri Lankan feast you have to try Colombo Kitchen you will not be disappointed.

First impressions as we walked (or in my wife's case scooted or her mobility scooter) was a friendly simple clean restaurant. There was no problem leaving the scooter at the back of the restaurant (we'd have happily left it outside). All staff were wearing masks properly.
This was out first visit to this newish restaurant and this particular style of cuisine. There is a simple menu and the staff are happy to explain, or for you to ask questions.
The table waiting is, shall we say, a little relaxed but still very friendly.
Starters were nice (for my taste a little dough based) and the coconut sambal accompaniment was lovely.
The mains we had were delicious, our son and I had the Kottu - 1 lamb, 1 chicken which are lovely and richly spiced with a hint, I think, of bitter cassia bark or similar - very filling. My wife's Ceylon chicken curry was really good, deep smooth and not over complicated. 2 sides, lentil coconut curry, a nice light creamy side with a good flavour of coconut and a well cooked fluffy plain rice.
I was the only one to have a pudding, even though I'm not really a pudding person I felt like trying the a Hopper. Difficult to describe, but a bowl shaped pancake type thing, thin and crispy at the edges, moist and fluffy in the middle. Subtle coconut flavour made just sweet enough with the very slightly caramelised Jaggery (traditional sugar).
I raved about the Hopper, which surprised me and my family and I would come back for this alone!
They seemed to have a good variety of drinks including Sri Lankan fayre and were happy to try and accommodate me awkwardly asking for a lime and soda and, although they weren't familiar with it and didn't have any lime cordial (not surprisingly), they found an alternative in elderflower cordial.
The restaurant was very clean including the loos (a good yard stick in my opinion) and the food is cooked on a hotplate in full view in the middle of the restaurant.
The prices are reasonable and we will be going back.

Service was excellent and the food was tasty. We had the starter platter which was super and the chicken kottu was quite good as well. Out Son wanted prawn noodles and our waiter (a middle aged Indian gentleman) said he would make it happen although the dish was not on the menu. We had the watalappan for desert and it was really good. Overall it was a very good experience.
