    2nd visit. Again, excellent. A little slow to take our order even though the restaurant was only half full but after that everything was spot on. Every dish we ordered was delicious and authentic, especially the hoppers. Really love Colombo Kitchen and will be back again for sure.

    Yet another return visit - this time with friends on their first (no doubt of many). They were enchanted by the friendly family feel and my wife's ability to converse with the staff in Singhalese - and blown away by the food. Were I think a little relieved to find that hoppers were not in fact grasshoppers - and delicious. A lovely evening.

    First time at Colombo Kitchen. Staff very friendly and explained the menu very clearly. We went early so it was quiet however this is a nice restaurant. Had a sharing platter to start, followed by devilled prawns and ceylon curry, Basmati Rice and coconut roti. Will definitely return here again.

    Been to Colombo Kitchen a few times, always outstanding food. It’s not the cheapest place to eat, but it is definitely good value for the quality of food. Make time to go if you’ve not tried it! It won’t be the last time you go!

    This was my first visit to Colombo Kitchen but my partner had visited once before with his twin brother. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and we quickly placed our drinks & food order. We then had an unexpectedly long wait for our starters and we think we might have been forgotten, however once this was pointed out the starters arrived swiftly with an apology. All the food was delicious and we will definitely return. Highly recommended.

    The food is not authentic Sri Lankan taste. For instance we ordered rotti and lunu miris, however the lunu miris was just onions and chilli flakes grinded in a grinder nor the actual lunu miris you get in Sri Lanka. The hopper had too much baking powder/soda.

    Really disappointed with our birthday meal here. Staff seemed super helpful but the food was bland and expensive to say the least For starters we ordered a platter for 2 which was very ordinary and served with ketchup so I was really looking forward to the mutton curry, that arrived and it was super hot. I mentioned this to the serving staff and I was asked which choice did I order (mild, medium, hot)to which I replied, I wasn’t asked They took it away and said they’d reorder my meal, it arrived with what seemed like coconut milk added to the dish to make it more like a mild mutton curry but the damage had been done Whilst waiting for our meal to arrive we ordered a 3rd gin and tonic but it never arrived and wewere charged but they quickly rectified their mistake In summary there are better restaurants about if you want value as our birthday celebration was ruined and I won’t be returning as the evening was littered with errors

    Loved this place. The friendliness of the staff are second to none. We both ordered hoppers and kothu and were asked what heat/spice level we liked. Excellent. The food was delicious with a good kick. The restaurant was quite quiet at the time we visited so can be a bit tricky to hear your companion when they are chopping in the open kitchen BUT the kothu is worth it. Looking forward to returning to try the rest of the menu.

    It was quit for a Sunday Lunch, only two tables were occupied at 1.45pm. Lots of take away orders were going out. The service was slow but everything ordered was brought to the table of Five diners without much of a do. starters were tasty, first time we tried fried Okra with chili sauce. It was a hit among all of us. Fish cutlets & Mutton rolls were excellent & crispy. The main meal was of six dishes & hoppers were all brought together & it was hot & fresh. The crab curry was tasty with lot of flesh in the crab. The Devilled Prawns & Mutton were tasty & vegetables were delicious. All in all the food was great. Staff response could be little more attentive to guests instead of doing something else. at least one member of staff should look out for customer calls.

    Fantastic food as always - I am loving the new menu and look forward to trying the curry puffs and lamb chop curry as and when they are ready. My top tips are the shorteats, devilled prawns and the Guinness cake.

    My first visit to this very local restaurant that is always busy and looks lovely. Well what a treat. The food is superb (we had king prawn curry and mutton curry), but the dining room and service and welcome really were wonderful too. First ever Sri Lankan meal, the host was so helpful and knowledgable guiding us through the menu so we learned a lot too. Would go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended.

    We had lumprais. Unfortunately the curries were given in extremely small quantities with a lot of rice. However the food tasted very nice. I brought a guest from Canada and was slightly embarrassed due to the problem mentioned above. Hope you will rectify this soon. Best wishes
