Appears to have changed hands since our last visit. Changed menu and wine list. Kept some old favourites, all dishes very good and substantial.
Atmosphere has changed, less family/neighbourhood more bustling/noisy. Serving staff interaction notably noisy the night we were there.
This restaurant has deteriorated since I was last there approximately 9 months ago. The starter portion of spinach/bacon/mushroom/Parmesan was minute and distinctly unexciting. The risotto main course was average at best. By coincidence, I had an impromptu lunch in Padua the following day, which was magnificent and less than half the price. Italian cuisine can travel but sadly, Como Lario is rapidly losing the plot.
Everything was just ok. Service was not particularly friendly. Would not rush to go back.
Booked for lunch on a Friday, but we were the only people there, hence the ambience was zero! I ordered the veal al limone i.e veal with a lemon sauce, and my colleague the liver. The liver came with the lemon sauce, my veal with nothing!! I didn't want to make a fuss as I was with client and he didn't notice!
Great food...but there was a puzzling cover charge of £1.95 per person (on top of the %12 service charge) that I can see only as pure profit. Did not notice this until after we left, so I could not ask for an explanation.
Delicious neighbourhood restaurant. Be hungry as portions are generous
First visit to Como Lario for 15 years. Food as good as ever, decor not as warm as it was, service excellent and the best olive oil from Sicily.
Very suitable for a ladies lunch. Lovely staff. Didn’t rush us. Would certainly go back. I was recommended by a friend who likes it for lunch. It’s on my list!
We had been to Como Lario before and had a good time with good food and a welcoming atmosphere. Hence why we decided to return with some friends.
This time, however, we were not made to feel that welcome and the service was not particularly friendly. The wine was poured too much and too frequently. The starters were pretty average.
The main courses were better but not hot enough and, I am happy to say, the puddings were good. The whole atmosphere was rather depressing and the head waiter came up and told us how 3 tables had "no-showed". We did not need to hear that.
We shall not return - very sad.
My companion rated his calves liver as the best he’d ever eaten, but my linguine with shellfish was disappointing, despite its being a ‘house special’ - it included one, rather frozen-tasting prawn and some small bits of fish. Very good first courses and puds. Staff friendly and attentive.
Service and food quality are always excellent. Classic Italian choices from chef who knows what to create...
Very consistent, high quality Italian food using best ingredients. Not a large menu, but balanced choices.
We got there early before the availability of food or alcoholic drinks - however we were shown to our seat with a glass of water.
We both had the veal and different desserts and thoroughly enjoyed the experience
The service was excellent - warm and friendly
We will go back again
Thanks for a lovely Valentine’s Day meal!

Staff great but too attentive...we felt very rushed.
Visiting this old haunt of ours after a few years, little had changed although it had lost a little of its sparkle and the friendliness of the welcome and service was not as it used to be. £100 for 2 courses and a bottle of decent wine is probably par for the course these days albeit hardly "value for money". Not as busy as it used to be which probably reflects the quality of the service. The food is good standard Italian Trattoria fare.
Cosy, tucked away near Sloane Square with a romantic vibe, attentive staff and solid Northern Italian cuisine.
Excellent food, we really loved it!!! Just a little overprice.
Disappointing visit. Tired look and lacking ambiance. Food was very ordinary. Have not visited for a long time and afraid It will be along time to any future visit.
Everything was good, yummy food, good service, not too expensive
What an enormous change from its former flair, food and convivial atmosphere. Disappointing.
This was our second visit this trip. The first time we were there, we had an excellent meal.
This time the swordfish was very tough, dry, and had an odd taste. We did tell the waiter, and to his credit, he reported it to the Kitchen. The management removed the charge from our bill, which was very good of them. The rest of the meal was OK.
Nice to be back in this excellent Italian restaurant after so many years.
It has not changed much but kept its quality, well done.
The food was over priced for small portions. The wait staff was slow and got drinks and starters mixed up. We paid a cover charge for the table cloth and bread. Overall, very disappointing and I was left hungry and disappointed.
Badly presented and poorly cooked food. Unremarkable service and eye-wateringly expensive for a VERY average dinner. Avoid at all costs. Very poor.
This restaurant has seriously gone downhill since the last manager left
Dinner was delicious. We had the liver, and it was tender and cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and efficient.
Bread could have been fresher--yesterday's loaf?
3 of us had a lovely meal at Como Lario. The starters were all very tasty and not too filling. We all had the same main course - thinly sliced veal - it was delicious. Need to order side veg with the dish. Puddings were lovely too... especially the pear cooked in wine! Service was good... though the staff weren't very smiley! But all were very helpful and attentive. Will definitely go back.... soon I hope!
I have always been a fan of Como Lario and have been coming to what used to be a wonderful restaurant for many years, which based on my most recent experience (27/10/17 has clearly deteriorated. Complete lack of interest from manager and staff, luke warm food and dreadful service - had to ask more than once for water, parmigan, bread and the bottle of wine we'd ordered.
Will not be returning which is very sad.
It was lovely. Thought the waiter was rushing us a bit
We arrived late as the bookings gave us a choice of 7 or 9! We were put right at the back of the restaurant and left a fair bit. The food was good but we didn't get everything we ordered we didn't re order we were the last in the restaurant at 11.15. Would go back but earlier in the evening
A warm welcome, a vibrant Italian menu beautifully cooked, discreet, charming service with ready smiles. In a nutshell, Como Lario is special in a lot of small ways, in addition to the truly scrumptious food.
Excellent food, good service and worth a visit
Been many times. Food great. Nice spot.
This was a return visit - I had eaten in Como lario for the first time the night before and didn't hesitate to book for the second time when faced unexpectedly with a group of clients to entertain. Food was good, authentically Italian. Staff were friendly even when appalled by one of our group requesting parmesan with their prawn linguine - a crime that would have seen him escorted from the premises if the chef had learned of it. A lovely evening.
We booked here pre-theatre and the food was excellent. So much so that we will come back for a regular meal
As usual good food and great service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Lovely Italian cooking - and great wine - staff can lighten up as they have a great product! They can be a bit more friendly and try and look as if it's an enjoyable place to be!
Great Chelsea restaurant. Always excellent service and outstanding food.
I have been coming to this restaurant for 20 years, but very disappointed with our visit on Saturday for lunch. I have intolerances to dairy and egg white and various nuts, which I emailed them about in advance. Previously I have enjoyed the mushroom, bacon and spinach starter, but was told that all of the mushrooms has previously been cooked with butter. I was given a plate of smoke salmon and nothing else. I was assured that the linguini with Saffron, prawns and courgettes would be fine, but spent the evening and following day in bed with symptoms I usually get when I have been given dairy/egg white. When I asked the waiter whether the pasta was egg pasta or wheat pasta, he told me it was gluten free and I have no problems with gluten! Didn't appear to know what I meant by diary intolerant. So very poor on this occasion and after 20 years of delightful dining - all very sad, as I will not be returning.
Excellent Italian food. Fresh, varied and really good specials also. Great evening
Excellent evening, food delicious and service was v good with friendly waiters. Only negative aspect was when we asked for more bread we were told bread might have run out!!! In the end they produced more bread.
