Compane Brick Oven Bistro
Everyone’s food was excellent! I would have preferred a higher quality italian bread, but that is a minor fine point. We all loved our dinners. The only factor that could really be improved is the sound level where we sat, in the large back room. Though the room was only about 3/4 full, the noise level was higher than comfortable for normal conversation - despite Our table being against the wall. Some sound absorbing material would make a big improvement in this department.
Both the food and service was outstanding. The appetizers and entrees came out in perfect timing. I will be back soon
Food was cold. Service was meh. Complimentary bread was weird. Overall... no bueno.
We absolutely love Compane's Bistro! Our favorite waiter is Brendon..he is amazingly fast and so very courteous! My only concern each time we visit the restaurant is the high noise level in the dining area inside...I do see that they have small acoustic wall panels in various locations around the room, but the conversations need to be shouted to each other. The hardscape material on the ceiling and floors must attribute to the noise level. This will not prevent us from returning...the food is phenomenal and the service is great. The owners are so very attentive and friendly as well.
Bar area was great. Food, cold and tasteless. Won’t go back.
REALLY ENJOYED MY LOBSTER FRA DIAVOLO, EXCEPT IT NEEDED MORE THAN
1/4 C. OF LOBSTER, SHOULD ADD SOME SHRIMP, OLIVES AND ARTICOKES
TO REALLY MAKE IT GOOD.
MY FRIEND REALLY ENJOYED THE EGGPLANT PARM.
First time there and had a great experience. Food and service were good and the owner stopped at our table twice to check on us and to see we were having a good meal. Quite a drive for us, but will definitely be back!
We went to Compane because they serve a few vegan options. I ordered the Beet balls with penne pasta and red sauce. When it came, it had cheese on it. I did not expect it to have cheese, so I asked for a new one without cheese. Our waitress made me feel it was my fault because I didn’t tell her I was vegan. She also said the beet balls had cheese in them, which I knew not to be true because the company that they get the beet balls from is a vegan company. So, I ended up getting a house salad. The manager came to our table to ask how things were going, and couldn’t care less about fixing our problem. He didn’t even know they served Beet balls, and joked that “meatballs aren’t vegan”, acting like we were stupid. In all, we will never be returning because of their lack of effort and poor service.
The food and drinks were good and quicker than anticipated. No bread was served which we missed. Portions are appropriate without feeling like you are hungry or food is going to be wasted.
Always very nice
Food and service were very good. Ordered a couple of cocktails which were also very good.
Waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the food.
Loved the outdoor seating. Wine is pricey! Food was all very good.
Food was delicious. We were a party of 3 and all of us enjoyed our meal. The prices were a bit high but it was a special birthday so we splurged.
I've been to Compane several times. It's one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The service is friendly and attentive. They make excellent brick oven pizza and their entrees are excellent Italian style cuisine. Pricing is very affordable. Highly recommended.
We frequent Compane and normally love it. I prefer to sit at the bar or high top as I find the tables in the back uncomfortable. We brought friends for their first visit. It was extremely loud and then the music was turned up even louder. For the first time ever my husband did not like the special but the server was very receptive and adjusted the bill slightly can’t wait to return and enjoy the patio.
First time for dinner here and really enjoyed it. The Cauliflower Risotto was inventive and delicious. The back dining room was a little noisy, but we were still able to have a conversation.
Food was great. Pictures on the menu would be great especially for those of us that don't speak Italian.
Great location! Great Food!
Will definitely be back
The only suggestion Is when you tell customers the specials of the evening, be sure to inform them of the price. Most other restaurants do this and we were taken back a bit of the price at the end. The meal was excellent and would have still ordered the special. However that little unexpected price took away from the experience.
It was my wife’s birthday and we had a lovely time. The service was excellent food was good I would go back.
Ordered the appetizer special which was good. Ordered two pizzas one was good the other had so little sauce or cheese that it tasted mostly like the dough. There was a musty smell in the main dining room that made my wife not enjoy her meal at all. The chairs were mismatched and made dining uncomfortable. The prices were not in line with the experience. Will not be back.
Excellent as always. The whole staff is knowledgeable about gluten free diets and always able to accommodate gluten free requests.
The restaurant has changed since the last time we were there. Much more average. Placemats rather than tablecloth’s if you did not seem as good either.
The cauliflower “rissoto” isn’t really rissoto, it was a gritty blend
Have lived in Fairport for three years and this is one of the only places I haven't eaten. Boy have I been missing out! A bit pricey but delicious.
Enjoyed very much. Food was delicious, came out to us in a timely fashion and was served hot. Waitress was attentive and had several visits from the manager checking on how everything was going. Very nice experience.
Wonderful evening, as always! Very friendly and welcoming environment, and the food is always great.
Fanstastic food and service! The fresh ricotta appetizer is amazing. The specials change constantly and are top quality. Highly recommended.
Menu was very limited. I guess if you're looking for a upscale pizzeria, this is the place. Looking for a seafood dish and not available on the menu. $12 for a glass of house wine was outrageous... Ended up ordering a pizza which was okay.
Loved the food and service !
Sometimes it was difficult to hear our own conversation when ever was talking!
Lovely and lively interior space. All hard surfaces and dining room is very small so very loud when full which it was Saturday night. Table was ready at reserved time but a table for 4 is a bit too small - placemats must overlap to fit and with a candle etc - there is no room for the delicious bread w/oil & parm. Service was good overall but did not come back for wine/drink orders through dinner so some went without. Owner circulated frequently looking around. Salads are well- prepared and fresh. Veal parm was fairly thick, not the usual cutlet and on top of spaghetti making it somewhat difficult to eat. Others in our group had pasta dishes and said they were delicious.
The food was delicious! I had the Woodfired Vegetable Gratin and the house salad. So many choices - I'll definitely go back.
The service was also fantastic. Helpful and friendly staff - it had a "family" feel with the people whonworked there.
Cool atmosphere. I really like the venue since the renovations. Great calamari! We really like our pizzas too. Very nice night out!
Heather was awesome! We really appreciated how attentive she was to our needs. Food was delicious! The dining room is very noisy it was hard to Caryonah conversation come up next time we would request a hightop in the bar area.
Food was terrific. Wine by the bottle a bit pricey. Service was great. The noise level was almost unbearable. If you're looking for quiet and romantic, this isn't the place.
Overall we always have a good meal here. The Arancini are amazing and the service is fantastic. Our server was attentive and polite. He made our night very nice. My wife had the Shrimp Diavlo and loved it. It was a little spicy but not too much and the shrimp were flavorful. I had the "Braised Short Rib(s)" which were very dry and tough. I had to use a steak knife to cut them. Also It was one rib not ribs, so if you are hungry this may not be the best choice. The Short rib was served with a wonderful gorgonzola fondue that had a hint of honey and really paired well with the beef. The menu said it was also served with a red wine demi but mine did not have that. I don't know if it needed it anyway. My wife had the Salmon Run Riesling which was very good and I had a Hendricks Martini Straight Up and the Gentlemen's Collection Cabernet with my meal that was very good. The only warning I have is there is a $4 up charge for making the martini. I was very surprised by this and will probably avoid a cocktail next time we go and stick to beer and wine. I will say the martini was made perfectly but not worth an extra $4.
Overall we recommend Compane. The service is wonderful and the food is almost always very good.
Food was fantastic and our server was excellent. The dessert was more than enough for both of us to share. The French pressed coffee was amazing and we will definitely be going back for another meal.
